I know of a couple kindergartens in South Australia that teach a bit of Kaurna language. Saying hello, wash your hands, what's your name etc. i think it's great for the kids :)

If that s kind of greetings are working for Kaurna language, then the speakers must have quite similar politeness culture with Javanese. Javaneses dont say 'hello' or 'good morning' etc when they meet each other on the street. They say 'badhe tindak pundi?' (where are you going?).
