  • Florida Aviation Network Host Joel Hargis interview Steve Wolf, a world renowned airshow pilot with over 30 years experience in both instructing and performing aerobatics. Steve developed and instructed “The Royal Falcons”, Jordan’s national aerobatic flying team. He was personally invited by the late King Hussein of Jordan, a pilot himself, who had witnessed Steve’s impressive command of the Pitts biplane. Steve has well over 4,000 hours in the Pitts alone, and has accrued close to 8,000 hours of flying time in a variety of aircraft, most being in the aerobatic category.
Steve is also a aircraft designer and builder. The Wolf Pitts Pro is one of the highest performing aerobatic biplanes in the world, made using the latest design concepts utilizing the latest in materials, it was designed and hand built by Steve Wolf. Steve Wolf had built his custom wings for the Pitts Series of aircraft. Then built a improved airframe to suit the wings. This aircraft was built for air show pilot Wyche T. Coleman III. When it was put on the market, Wyche would not sell it to anyone, but to the right person with the skills to fly such a powerful aircraft. VH-PVB is the very first Wolf Pitts and one of only two in existence. Sean D. Tucker has the other with some further modifications, he named his the Oracle Challenger III.
Steve's latest project is a 2/3 scale of the "Frigid Midjit" the aircraft that Jack Hallett flew during World War II. Jack just turned 100 years old and
Joel wanted to capture the story of this labor of love saluting Jack.

I am truly humbled .. I thought I had "climbed Everest" when I built and flew my Vans RV4.... 1 project, against 26..!!!! Mr Wolf you are an Aviating Legend. My favourite WW2 fighter is the -47, the purest expression of American "can do " spirit, it was BIGGER and better than most..! And it was a TOUGH SOB.. Please keep us aviators updated on this Project..! Thankyou Florida Aviation Network..!

Thank You for making this video...! OMG! this story has me hanging by my eyeteeth! I'll be surfing the web to hear this WWll p-47 pilot tell his story. The P-47 was my first love; it was the most produced fighter of WWll; In truth, the P-47 is the aircraft that really won the war. I'm a round-engine lover and the P-47's turbocharger system blew away any of the other supercharged aircraft during the war. This project is very special & important. I wish you could them what I am feeling, but I don't have the words to express them. I'll have to see about getting those blueprints - so, I can see the inside of this aircraft thoroughly.
