This is TOTALLY AWESOME to see as I just turned 67 yrs old this month of May, n it brings back myriad memories of watching the Mitch Miller Show evenings as well as the Lawrence Welk Show on tv back in the 1960's as a kid n seeing as aVERY popular guest Teresa Brewer, whose nickname was "The Screamer" back in those days with my Mom n Dad when I was 7 or 8 yrs old. I have ALWAYS LOVED Teresa Brewer, n of course, Rhonda Fleming n Gene Barry, who I remember most fondly as Bat Masterson, in his TV show if the same era!!! WONDERFUL that you just posted this n I was lucky enough to find it!!! Cant wait to continue watching it!!!
HPD to you both! I will be 67 later this year. Our family watched these shows also, and enjoyed them. The Red Skelton Show, The Honeymooners and The Jackie Gleason Show were also great fun. 🎂🎉🌹⏳
I just turned 69 today - 23 May. Do y'all remember Perry Como? The neighbor across the street didn't have a television and couldn't speak english, but she was at our house anytime Perry Como was on. Lol. She was a nice lady! Happy birthday to all of you May babies!
Awesome, I just found this great movie, I think I remembered it, especially Gene Barry going after the guy who killed the girls dad…I haven’t remembered much of the rest but it’s been a long time with this one…🤣…I’m 75 and I’m glad I found this movie again, something where the actors/actresses are real instead of fake CGI/AI characters…the new rage of avatars and technology, is killing the movie industry’s culture and replacing actors/actresses with fake personalities and characters. Hollywood has failed its artists, creative genius and talented people, directors, writers, etc., with garbage and trash storylines of technological fiction…I prefer the old days when movies were movies and films told realistic stories and personal experiences, and the careers and life’s work was a thing to be proud of….👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I will be 97 in a little over 64 years. I can't believe I have never watched this before, But my mental health team tell me I must or they wont undo my straight jacket.
I can’t believe I don’t think I ever saw this great little movie before. Surely I must have, growing up in the 60s it had to have been on tv. Thanks so much for sharing.
Keep in mind while observing the staging of this movie that it was one of approximately 60 movies that year that were filmed in 3D. That is also the reason for the ‘INTERMISSION’ title about halfway through the movie (46:44). The 3D process then in use required both projection machines to be used simultaneously; one for the screening the left-eye view, the other for the right. Fifty-minute film reels were about the largest size that the projection machines could be viably converted to handle.
Poor little blond girl. My mother is a redhead, and her father remarried a redhead and all of his children from that marriage produce 3 redheads and a blonde. And my aunt (who was the blonde) grew up accused of being the milkman's daughter, seriously. That was over 70 years ago.
Funny, I remember being out with my brunette mother, red haired sister and blonde me. Even then I(1060’s) I was aware of uncomfortable questions and looks. I just thought some adults were dumb and without manners.
@@debramagliano6672 yep people can be rude..I remember being in a Kmart one time with my young children 3 and 5yrs. and some random woman at the photo area exclaimed, ",wow, your children are Actually nice looking"(??) Yeah..I don't use make-up my mom is Scandinavian and yes I know I am not ugly...🤦♀️
I'm the only redhead in my mom's family and it was always the beat like a red stepchild. Strangers would ask my mom how much she charged for babysitting. 😒
Another great production from "The Dollar Bills" (William Pine and William Thomas). They had a very successful "B" unit at Paramount. Their motto was, "If you can't get Clark Gable, get Technicolor".
Great movie. They made such awesome movies during the Golden Age of Hollywood. I've seen a number of great movies over my 63 years, but some how this gem slipped past me.
Anybody notice during what looks like a rousing chorus full of chorus girls, a wierd musical rendition played over the supposed song of "Chick a Boom""?????? Yikes!!! Whats the rumpus on that?!?!?!
I can beat that...anyone notice the " l guess it was you all the time." number, the musicians are fake playing the instruments. no piano keys are being press and where the heck did the trombone come in at.😂
The sound track on this movie is absolutely horrible. It has been tampered with and part of it has been replaced with something else totally different and unwelcome. What a shame.
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience; I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Revelation 3:10
Completely unbelievable how, at the end, alluva sudden the whole family is happy the eldest girl wants the man they think arranged their father's murder. But okay . . .
Did they really have a lot of ballads sung in saloons? An opera where the actors may still not have been considered proper society, but weren't saloons just rowdier? Even if it's just for the sake of the movie...
According to the “ NY Times book and movie review in 2014 ; “ To kill a Mockingbird “ was number one for both the movie and the book. Tolkien came in at number two on the list for the “ Lord of the Rings “ both the books and the movies. I concur with those statistics based on my experience. Never heard of this movie. Click bait. Thank you Grana Rose
I won't be watching anything from this channel again. Eviscerating the original music and dance in the saloon has ruined this one and others will also, unfortunately, suffer the safe fate. What a pity the original script was gutted. Like the Joker in the museum scene in the original Batman movie.
The original was likely from a damaged track of film. Someone else said this was a 3D film shown often for effect in the theater. So this original must have been damaged.
Why the terrible musical overlay. Oh, oh, oh, sounds as though he ate something that doesn't agree with his digestion. Awful thing to do to this movie.
..certainly a curious yet OK movie for a musical! Suppose a Thank You might be in order? Maybe after I've seen more than 16 min & get past all these commercials?! Snowy wilderness? Looks like where I grew up..! ~ from a small town in AK-USA | 🇺🇸🌤❄🌿🍄🐟🌻|
I will be 97 in 15 years. I remember seeing this in 3-D at the Colonial Theater in Augusta, Maine.
I love the fact that you said "I'll be 97 in 15 years" made me laugh. I'm going to start doing that. Just to throw people off. lol
I will also be turning 67 . And use to watch mitch miller! Happy birthday fellow may baby

Happy birthday to you 🎉. My birthday is tomorrow and I will be 67 too. We lived in great times.
My parents watched the Lawrence Welk show all the time when I was a kid in the late 70’s and 80’s. It’s a much different world today.

Happy Birthday! I agree with you 100% I remember watching these old westerns with Pa. I'm now 69.
Great movie, Rhonda Fleming was such a beautiful woman and a good actress. Edith Moorehead was a great actress and I enjoyed seeing her in this movie.
@bizzybee852 With respect, I think you meant, Agnes Moorehead, not Edith. 🎂

Your tag is not lying. I totally watch this film once a month. It's like one of my guilty pleasure movies. "Chicka boom!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can't bring myself to watch it once!

A very enjoyable old movie!❤❤❤❤😂❤
Great movie thank you ❤
Plot-
A Seattle woman (Agnes Moorehead) and her four single daughters head for Alaska during the gold rush.
This film was originally made in 3D. Over the years they’ve shown it in 3D at film festivals.
You can tell this by the filming shots. Many actions are being done towards the screen for effect.

👏👏👏👏👏 ahhhh, they are not made like that anymore.🧡💚❤️💜💙😊
Thank the Lord. What a terrible movie
The dancers wore no bloomers and pantyhose. 1960 costumes during the Klondike.
Just to mention, this movie was from 1953, not 1960.
Love mid century movies, the color, fun, etc. This is really beginning well, the 4 girls, like Little Women....
Love old movies in colors
Sorry but the music isn't right at about 41 minutes!
Probably a copyright issue
Yeah!! What was that all about!!? 🙄
According to the U.S. Library of Congress, The Wizard of Oz is the most viewed film in history.
Baths $1.50
w Soap $2.50.
Aww so many important parfs are missing.
Great movie...but what happened to the song around the 42:00?

@@LilyGazou Thank you, Lily. I SHOULD have thought of that. ;)
What happened to the audio at 42 min?

Slander and libel from the pious paper. Easy to shut down.
Anybody notice during what looks like a rousing chorus full of chorus girls, a wierd musical rendition played over the supposed song of "Chick a Boom""?????? Yikes!!! Whats the rumpus on that?!?!?!
copy writed song
Guy Mitchell had a huge hit with this song, so probably a copyright restriction.

Good question. Did TH-cam the song?

Gal in the green outfit was singing a Beatles song
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience; I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Revelation 3:10
Why add background music to this wonderful movie?
It ruins the movie and doesn't have any purpose.
Why has Guy Mitchell's first musical number been deleted?
Probably due to copyright issues which is why many movies cannot be uploaded for free on this platform.
It’s weird to hear it this way
Maybe a better choice of music for the deleted one 😊
What is that wierd music at ABOUT.....43:00 ???
Completely unbelievable how, at the end, alluva sudden the whole family is happy the eldest girl wants the man they think arranged their father's murder. But okay . . .
At least there's Agnes Moorehead and no animal co-star.
Why don’t the music match the stage performance?
Copyright
@@LilyGazou thanks that’s what I thought
At the 41minute mark, the song performed on stage has had some guitar music playing. it ruined the whole movie memory for me. Thank you anyway.
Did they really have a lot of ballads sung in saloons? An opera where the actors may still not have been considered proper society, but weren't saloons just rowdier? Even if it's just for the sake of the movie...
Appreciate the movie but the sound is terrible......yikes
Was a wonderful movie till some kind of recording took over
poor audio upload....
How is this "the most watched movie of the past? Who came up with that statistic?
According to the “ NY Times book and movie review in 2014 ; “ To kill a Mockingbird “ was number one for both the movie and the book.
Tolkien came in at number two on the list for the “ Lord of the Rings “ both the books and the movies.

The music at 40:00 is bogus!!
Poor music playing over Boom Chicka rah

1:05:08 Teresa Brewer. She was hot stuff. She sang "Put Another Nickel In, In the Nickelodeon."
What the hell is this other music trip hop crap music that doesn’t fit the time line wack . Ruined a classic movie
What happened to the music when dancing on the stage? Crazy interception of horrible music! Definitely not the original music.

WTF is up with the music????
I dont like the interm music rather tha the movie.
The music over dubbing ruined the whole movie for me.
At 41:16 the sound goes to pot. Horrible music plays over the movie. What a rubbish download.
The original was likely from a damaged track of film. Someone else said this was a 3D film shown often for effect in the theater. So this original must have been damaged.
Horrible interruption!
Good cast struggling with a clumsy, cliche-ridden script and unmotivated songs.
