    After a very successful launch of the #Kia Stinger sports sedan, Kia is hoping to inject some of that Stinger DNA into the rest of their lineup starting with the company's second best-selling sedan, the #Forte. For 2019, the all-new Forte moves to a new platform that is stronger and safer, gains even more standard tech and safety features, and adopts a smart new intelligent variable transmission that gets up to 35 MPG combined. It all makes for one attractive new sedan that will have no problem standing out in a sea of compact cars.

    Hey guys! During filming of this video today, we had mentioned that the Forte was the only non-luxury compact sedan to offer ventilated seats. We forgot about one vehicle, but Volkswagen also offers cooled seats on the all-new 2019 Jetta as well! We apologize for mistake. Thanks for watching, as always! Also, the 2019 Forte is on sale now and Kia says they are on the way to dealers as we speak!

      Can't wait to start seeing them pop up on the lot at work. I work for a well known family owned company Ricart so I get to see everything that comes in on the carriers. But I like to watch your in depth reviews before I check them out in person for myself. I'm hoping to trade in my 2016 Altima SV next year for my third brand new car. I've been leaning towards Kia for a while now too. Keep up the good work, your the best automotive journalists I watch for the car reviews.

Kia's REALLY been stepping up their game these past few years; thought that Cadenza was pretty neat (either that or I was probably hard for that one lady in the commercial in that black dress) back when they launched that car, but now they're directly competing with the Mazda 3 in terms of sportiness & a demanding presence for the (non luxury) money?!

    A CVT that mimics gears. There’s the problem, if they’re gonna put a CVT in it then I personally think it should behave how it’s designed to, not behave like something it isn’t. As a car enthusiast I could actually put up with a CVT if it didn’t act like a traditional automatic transmission.

    I test drove this Stinger. Manager is a friend and he lend me a loaner to keep for a weekend. After a weekend I can tell you these 2 things. Most annoying thing is front seats are uncomfortable. It feels like you are sitting on a bench. After about 20 mins of time in the seat you start feeling your back and hips are being annoyed. And lastly anybody who sat in the back seat complained loud road noise. And those are big no for me. I was considering this for my friend who is looking to commute about 50km one way to work. But instead went with 2019 Civic LX.

      My friend I really wanted to buy a Kia Stinger. I actually sold my 17 Maxima for it. But when reality hit I realized it's not the right car. And yes road noise makes a lot of difference. It's a background noise that annoying and ruins the whole experience. I write these reviews because I was extremely disappointed. And lastly which car you see on a road in full size sedans? It's rare occasion you see Kia Stinger given their price and horsepower. Where as Nissan Maxima is the only full size sedan which out sells all full size sedans combined. Do some real world research. Cheers

As far as power, eh, for it's size it's pretty good and I don't have to worry about my 19 year old daughter killing herself in it since she's the main driver.

    The question is whether or not Kia fine-tuned that rear torsion beam to make a bit softer vs. the Elantra? I rented a new Elantra for a 600 mile roundtrip drive and found it way too jarring over broken concrete pavement. I have a 2018 Kia Rio hatchback, and despite the rear torsion beam, it actually handles broken pavement and roadway imperfections reasonably well. Sadly, I didn't have the same experience with the Elantra.
    Everything else about this car seems perfectly fine...the underpowered engine probably won't bother the type of buyer Kia is trying to appeal towards...which is someone who merely wants decent acceleration for their commute.

      CVTs are pretty standard for cars in this class. A DCT would be nice, but they would add to the cost and 90% of the people buying these cars aren't going to care. DCTs also have their own issues with around town driving. I'm not a fan of CVTs in crossovers or larger sedans, but for these little compact cars, they serve their purpose. I’m blown away by how Kia has progressed, and also admittedly embarrassed by my past cynicism.
    Persona anecdote: I drove a 3 series BMW back when I met my now wife, who’s family all drove Kias. I came from a family who were all pretentious about what they drove. At the time she drove a Kia Soul, and I remember scoffing at it like an asshole.
    That little thing took us everywhere, was with us during some really tough times. The BMW was pretty quick to go when misfortune struck, but that Kia stayed. Terrific car in ever sense. It humbled me, and I learned to try and look past my prejudices and not judge a book by its cover.

    • @rightwingsafetysquad9872
      @rightwingsafetysquad9872 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RS1 If it mimics gear shifts, it's not going to get better mileage than a traditional automatic would be slightly worse than a DCT. Most CVTs (including this one I believe) still have torque converters which are the driving reason automatics used to get worse economy than manuals. The only way a CVT does better than an 8-speed automatic is to be truly continuous (or very nearly so because a chain drive will have to move in definite, but tiny, increments) and/or use a clutch instead of a torque converter.

    • @rightwingsafetysquad9872
      @rightwingsafetysquad9872 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RS1 The CVT could be made better than the auto was, but if it is simulating 8 gars (as it is), it's not because of it being a CVT that they get better mileage. Also, please don't compare good autos to the one in the Cruze, despite inventing the automatic transmission, GM's 6 speed auto is absolutely terrible. I'd give more credit to the Atkinson engine and reduced weight for Kia's better mileage over last generation. As for autos doing better than manuals, it's not inherent to the tech, it's because designers of manuals haven't figured out to make 6th and 5th very low ratios like they do in autos, if they did that then manuals would do slightly better than 6-speed autos again.

    Cars like this, the Chevy Bolt, and the previous generation QX-50 that have turn signal lights on the rear bumper might be unique but sort of stupid (I know Audi SUV’s and Mini’s have them as well. But they are used as backup not the main light). As soon as you get rear-ended the chances of your turn signals malfunctioning would be greatly higher. There’s a reason why rear lights do not go into the bumper anymore.
