Nice hatchet work brother! Soooo smooooooth!
Thank you so much!
Man, the sound of a sharp hatchet through wood is so peaceful and satisfying. The spoon wasnt bad either... 😉
Haha cheers mate 🙂
@@andyspoons 🍻 What species is that?
This is Silver Birch, a rare treat up here in the Blue Mountains
@@andyspoonsWe've got Birch around the property, trade ya for some Yew staves... lol
No Yew in these parts! And besides, the toxicity of Yew makes it a no go for spoons (if I'm reading this right?)
Thank you for answering my question in advance
🙌
Nice and relaxing. I would prefer the film on horizontal and not vertical mode. However, this of course personal preferences, so just an input for you to consider ;-)
There are a lot of other videos on my channel in landscape, I like to add a portrait video every so often for people who watch more on their phones 🙂👌
Turn your phone sideways.
Nice Andy. What axe ya swinging?
Cheers! This is the 860g from Fadir Tools
How long should you dry or wait on Greenwood to oil when making a spoon and is poplar wood good for kitchen spoons, serving food
Hi there! Poplar is quite soft, but great to practise carving, it isn't quite as strong as other popular options like many fruit woods. Check my "FAQ" video in regards to seasoning and green wood 🙂👌
