*Nice reel so far **enjoyable.fishing** recommend used it for about an hour after getting it from Amazon and functioned flawlessly. Very smooth retrieve and the anti reverse is perfect. Feels like a reel that would be double the price.*

Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.

1:45 grappler type c, looks like a nice rod, the bend looks great. For someone who chases bluefin a few times a year, I think this world be a great choice. Affordable and seems to perform well.

Shimano has not produced a good Stella since the FA. That was a horse of a reel. I hope Shimano has done a better job this time. so that we can get what we pay for. :)

Shimano , i have been all time shimano , i just baught 10000pgc , pair it with okuma rod distance 13' n the line will get stuffed between line ruller n rotor arm , the same would happen with shakespeare agility 11,6 rod but with less occurances , is it get to do with reel's foot ! How come no body noticed such dilama.

Thuan Tran the mechanism that prevents the reel from going backwards. In superspinners such as the Stella SW, there are usually a normal anti reverse mechanism and a backup anti reverse. That’s because of how much stress that is put on these reels. The new Stella SW does not have a back up anti reverse. That is not a good thing.
@@Benjamin-S it also has a cheaper antireverse clutch now, sharing the clutch with the saragosa, quite dissapointing, the old stella had the best anti reverse clutch of any reel, i assume its a cost cutting measure

It’s a good reel. Just not for that amount of money. I would call this a downgrade from the 2013 Stella SW honestly. The anti reverse clutch is made out of plastic, which wasn’t the case in the 2013 Stella SW. And why did you remove the back up anti reverse? That’s not very ideal.
