Hola Amigos and welcome back to Polanco, Mexico City! Polanco is often considered as the RICHEST area in Mexico City, HOWEVER, residents of Mexico City will probably tell you otherwise as there are many other affluent areas of the city such as Santa Fe, Lomas de Chapultepec and more!
Polanco is popular with tourists and ex-pats and is often considered to be safer than other areas of Mexico City. Due to the higher level of wealth in the area, you can find some amazing high-end restaurants such as Pujol. However, if you're a budget traveller, digital nomad or simply looking for budget food when you're in Mexico City, can you realistically come to Polanco and find $15 tacos? We answer that question in this video!
We're heading to two spots in Polanco - El Rey de Suadero, which offers dishes for as low as $16MXN. Suadero is part of a cow or pig from between the belly and leg, also common in some South American countries, and is often found in dishes such as tacos and gordita.
Secondly, we head to El Turix, a small and popular foodie spot away from the main streets specialising in among other things, Panuchos, which is a Yucatan dish (one of my favourites) for as little as $30MXN.
Polanco isn't for everyone, but I've always really liked it. If you're coming to CDMX I hope you do too!

Hola amigos! What's your favourite budget food in Polanco? I'm aware of the issue of calling Polanco the 'richest' area in CDMX, hence why it's in quote marks! Don't forget to like and leave a comment! Have you got any friends who'd enjoy this video? If so, share it!
You can watch this video in multiple languages, just hit captions! (They will not be 100% accurate!) 🇲🇽❤🇲🇽❤
¡Hola amigos!

My favorite Mexican food is Tortas! Yes, just simple Tortas any kind any day😋.
I have to blame Tortas and all the pastry shops for my recent weight gain though😞. I'm on a protein drink diet with low carbs for the next 3 months to get back on track. Even though I walk around every day for hours I still gained weight😏
The only thing I've recalled eating in Polanco are churros from El Moro😁
As always, thank you for your videos!

I feel your pain amigo!!! I stayed right next to a bakery in Garibaldi area once. It was truly a disaster. In terms of my fatness!! I'm not a huge fan of tortas myself as I always find it's too much bread for me! I swear, if I didn't walk miles everyday too, I'd pretty much be the size of a whale LOL.

Yes, you're right David. Polanco used to be a rich neighborhood, Ther s a long story behind. It used to be a jewish area. That community have emigrated to Bosques de las lomas and so on... In the 80-90s some of their childs returned to that area and then, when they had kids they re-emigrated, now to interlomas or Santa Fe. Nowadays Polanco is a nice quartier mostly full of company-offices because it is quite near to Reforma Bussines corridor... But it is not difficult -as you show- to see some very nice and good restaurants aside of "fondas" (typical "hommie" food restaurants, not expensive). It is obvious because there is a great "godinez" community ji ji (lol)... the typical office workers (white collar workers) (not saying that in a discriminatory way!).

Polanco used to be a residential area. Then offices moved in. Then some they moved away. It is still a great area. You should consider learning Spanish. It will make a better English teacher as you go through the process. Saludos.

Hola! I can normally speak better Spanish, I was having an off day! I know what you mean about teaching, I studied German for 7 years so it helps in understanding difficulties. I wish I'd studied Spanish instead jajaja!

I think there was a major issue with the chicken on top of those panuchos... and the issue is that I am pretty sure it was pork lol. That is the thing... once we cook things and add our flavors, they no longer taste like they are supposed to lol. Mexican alchemy. Jesus turned water into wine and we turn pork into chicken lol.

How come all the TH-camrs that are in Mexico that are from the U.S & from over seas always say it’s time to get back home once the sun starts to go down. 😂 Mexico don’t be that bad at night is it. 🤔 😂 just asking.

    • @davidostrowski679
      @davidostrowski679  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Haha I know what you mean, the only reason I rarely film at night is for filming reasons. As the sun goes down you can get poor lighting and picture quality, Also I prefer to film in the day as I can get more colourful shots! It's nothing to do with any dangers at night or anything.

If you've seen my video last year at El Grito you can see what I mean, problems with focusing and picture quality! Although I'm planning a night video soon, I'll see how it goes!
