- Polanco is the richest neighborhood in Mexico City and one that many foreigners never hear about. It's full of nice shops, cafes, restaurants, and things to do, like visiting the Soumaya museum, the famous avenue with the designer stores (Presidente Masaryk), and the gorgeous Parque Lincoln. This is how you can enjoy a day here.

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

There has been a discussion in the comments about whether Polanco is the richest area or not, so let me explain where/how I got this information. First of all, gracias to everyone from CDMX who gave me feedback. I understand areas like Las Lomas are more sophisticated and it's where you find the millionaires' homes, but they're purely residential. I came across researches that indicate that the square meter in Polanco is the most expensive, as that englobes commercial real estate. Here are some examples: expansion.mx/empresas/2017/06/02/polanco-es-la-zona-mas-cara-de-la-cdmx-100-000-pesos-el-metro-cuadrado, www.marhnoshabitat.mx/blog/corto-por-m2-polanco. Anyways, this goes to show that Mexico and Mexico City have lots of wealthy and fancy areas, unlike many foreigners would expect if they just read news media reports. Polanco is a fantastic neighborhood, it's where I first stayed when I came to CDMX back in 2010, and I quickly fell in love 😍. Thanks again for all your feedback, and please keep telling me about other places to visit and to cover, as I absolutely love Mexico ❤
Go to Michoacan.
You have to visit oaxaca
Will do in the future
Yes
Love, love, love Polanco ! Always stay at Las Alcobas.....wonderful strolling neighborhood. Maravilloso !

Mexico is so ultra modern & have contemporary structures.
New information to me. Thank you for the video.

You only watched Hollywood movies about México. 🤣 Open your mind, your goverment, movie industry try to show everything else difierent of usa is a shit. And you believe
I've seen numerous Polanco videos and yours is my favorite.
Thank you very much for that...I appreciate
Renata: Thanks you so much for this remarkable video that you just released from Mexico City, Mexico in June of 2022!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved Soumaya but Biblioteca Vasconcelos blew me away. I love Mexico City.
Thank you for mentioning. We have another place to visit when we return to CDMX
Love your videos, Renata! Mexico City is one of my favorite cities. Greetings from Peru!
Thank you! 😃 Our new fave too 👍😀
Hola everyone! 😍 I was so busy at a travel show last week that I couldn't finish this video sooner. But I have some very interesting news about Florida that I'll soon share in a video (just a quick break in the Mexico series). In the meantime, if you missed any episode in Mexico, the videos are all here: th-cam.com/video/kdn26d51IcQ/w-d-xo.html 😊 Enjoy!
Polanco actually don’t think is Mexico City’s richest neighborhood, yes, it’s the oldest, closer to downtown and most popular among visitors, but actually there are some other neighborhoods that are way richer, like Las Lomas (not too far, actually, just keep going by Paseo de la Reforma), Santa Fe or Pedregal. Even some areas from the closer area to San Angel (part of Pedregal) and Chimalistac.
Thank you for sharing. these are some neighborhoods I will explore on a return trip.
Muy simpática Renata, bienvenida a México!
¡Gracias! Me encantó mi visita y no puedo esperar para volver.
Descubrí tu canal hace 2 semanas, he visto casi todos tus videos, Felicitaciones, increíble e impecable trabajo. Saludos.

Wow, all d rare exhibits n collections at both of d museums r extraordinarily amazing.

Thank you for your interesting vidéo. Mexico is a picturesque town.
You are most welcome.
Honestly I didn't expect that Mexico City is such beautiful! Thanks Renata for these videos! I wish I could travel here someday :)
Love from Indonesia
I think that would be a similar thought for many foreigners who visit. I know we were surprised and yet there is so much more to cover. We will return both to CDMX and Mexico. Thanks for watching
That is because Hollywood movies always portrays and shows the worst parts of Mexico in their movies. They always show old and decrepit towns close to the US border. These movie directors only travel to Tijuana and they assume that all of Mexico is the same. Call it prejudice or? Sad but true.
Olá Renata!!😘😘 tudo bem com vocês? Incredible video!! So glad to see you guys! Sending y’all hugs and blessings 🫶🫶🤍💕🤍💕
Obrigada!!!!

I really enjoyed this video. Very different and fun. I never heard of Polanco, Mexico. Cool to see a wealthy area of Mexico. Also cool to see a statue of MLK.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching.
Hello Renata, you should throw a dart at the world map and go wherever it lands on. That will be a fun thing to do to decide the destination for your trip😀
That would be fun. Maybe we can do that for fall or 2023 👍😀
@@RenataPereiraTV Thank you for considering my suggestion Renata😀

Was that Terrazzo being used as paving? Normally only found in Shopping Malls or Airport/Station Concourses.
Could be. No one local chimed in
The weather looks great which month were you in Mexico City?
January...good time to visit. Still, CDMX is high altitude so the sun can surprise you...hat and sunscreen mandatory.
👍👍👍👍 Renata & Gordon...Gbu..🇮🇩🇮🇩Indonesia

D sandwiches n d picante sauces looked so good n delicious, d drinks too. D artisanal chocolates, divine, n d pastries, scrumptious
Is there a chocolate museum in Mexico that shared d story of existence of chocolate 4,000 years ago.
D artisanal chocolates pralines or truffles looked so divine. D word artisanal chocolates reminds of d belgian chocolates very much.
D squirrel came running for d choc coz it knew how expensive d choc was.
Yes, u r right, d color of milk choc is always brown, d dark choc, darker brown. But d white choc, can be turned into many colors by d choc artisan.
IT was fantastic
Any chance to see you making those fantastic videos in the middle east? Egypt, Morroco, Tunisia?❤
HHHmmmm, that is a thought. Quite possibly something to release in July👍😀

Very Beautiful vídeo. Go to Santa Fe. To Perisur
Thank you for the suggestions. We will definitely return to CDMX and cover more districts
Renata! We will follow all your tips on our July trip to CDMX! Thank you for all the useful information! One question we have, how did you travel from the Airport to the hotel with luggages?, I have researched and the options seem to be uber, metro bus or the metro, which one would you recommend to a hotel in the Zocalo area? Thank you!
Hello R Quinto. You are most welcome. We used Uber from the airport to our hotel in Roma Norte. I am not familiar with the hotels on Zocalo so if it were me I would take Uber. Once then then you can judge how far your hotel is from the metro station. Also, depending on what time you arrive it maybe the best choice...if its dark outside.
@@RenataPereiraTV Awesome! Thanks for the advice, we will use Uber! Appreciate the time you take to answer our queries.

There actually are wealthier neighborhoods in Mexico City than Polanco (Las Lomas is probably the wealthiest, but it’s mostly residential).
Thank you for sharing. Does it have a commercial street with cafes/restaurants?
@@RenataPereiraTV Not really. There’s another very affluent area called Santa Fe which does have public spaces. There is a really nice new park called La Mexicana with restaurants, and it’s surrounded by impressive skyscrapers.
