    I love single shot shotguns. I have restored several and they can be so pretty. I used to have a bunch of them, but I gave four Stevens .410 single shots to my grand nieces, a Winchester single shot 20 gauge to another grand niece, two Stevens 20 gauge single shots to a nephew and a grand nephew. And a .22 revolver to another grand niece. Only two of these kids had a grandpa and two of them had never met their fathers so I felt it was important for me to teach them how to shoot rifles, handguns and shotguns.

    You did a fine job of restoring it, it sure is gorgeous

      If someone had a mind to, they could easily make a side hobby out of finding and restoring distressed firearms - then resell them at a profit.

    Nice Stevens. Just picked one up that looks almost new. Not quite as nice as yours is now, but very close. Love those old singles. Thanks for the video.

      The case hardening is what originally caught my eye.

    I have a 94f my mom bought me when I was 15. Mom is gone now but I still have the little 20ga bring back memories of my youth and Mom .

    I picked up an old beat up Stevens 94B in 16 gauge years ago. On the bottom of the stock someone carved CD '41. I imagine it was some kids first gun in 1941 and he carved his initials.

    Beautiful gun. I had one just like that as a kid. Sadly I messed up the barrel. It was the only gun my father ever bought me. As a 16-year-old I sold it to a nephew for 35 dollars. He gave it to his nephew who doesn't like it. I have offered to buy it back but he wants a crazy trade/price for it. I'd love to have that gun. Awesome video thumbs up.

      Hit the pawn shops - you might find another one.

      @@Icarryone Thank you I just may try that. There are not many pawn shops in my area. But I will start looking. I hope you are doing well. Stay well & safe always.

    Thanks for the video!
    I do always think about what firearms I’d want to pass down. You always immediately think “G.I. 1911” or “Kimber”; something with some street cred. Issue I have is I own models I like and most may pass on.
    All that aside, at first glance, I thought you bought that shotgun back in the day, new in box, and just kept it up. Good to see history restored and preserved!

    I have one too. It is a good shape, but was a little sticky in its action and the trigger floated while fully forward. I have it apart but can tell how to orient the weird little trigger spring. Can you post a video showing it?

    Even though most of the single-shot guns I have seen were H&Rs, this Stevens started my thought train rolling toward the Fox 311 double that was so prevalent about sixty years ago. I don't suppose you are hiding one? And that Stevens was a real bargain, it looks like new!

    • @Icarryone
      @Icarryone  ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually had one at one time - mid 1980's. Savage/Stevens model 311 hammerless boxlock double in 16 gauge. I used it quite a bit for quail hunting. I eventually gifted it to my older brother whom I'm pretty sure still has it. Funny, hadn't thought about that shotgun in years, until now. Thanks! 👍😁

    Hello! I just inherited this firearm from my grandparents. Even has the same dog etching on the side but yours is in better condition overall.
    What model does your say? Mine says 940C and it's been a pain to find info on it
