WellIntoLife Thank you for your answer. I have fibromyalgia and other issues so I think I know pretty much what my medical issues are. However it makes sense that I am congested as I have felt this congestion accumulating for years (decades even) but not until recently did I realize what it was: stagnant energy due to poor circulation of such energy and of course due to a lot of issues, emotional and physical. Now that I am learning more about energy work I have come to see a difference in how I operate and take care of myself. I care more about me, although I must admit that energy work has kind of hit me like a ton of bricks at first and thought about quitting. I am sure it may take a while before I see the energy truly flowing so these points won't hurt anymore. Some points don't hurt at all while others hurt a lot, so it gives me an idea of what I need to work more on or what kind of foods I should eat. Thanks again!

Hi Carolin, These can be done any time of day with similar benefit. Since we are improving the flow and balance of the meridians, this can be done multiple times each day. If everything is already balanced it will then just strengthen and help hold the correction.
Tracing a meridian gently moves the energy along and help with decreasing stagnation. How often or how long it takes is a questions of how strong the imbalance is in the energy system. It can be done several times a day if you feel like more than once is needed. Tracing backward helps to flush stagnant energy, tracing forward helps to improve the movement of the energy along the meridian pathways. If a correction/balance is needed, the energy is corrected. If the energy is already is balance, the state of balance becomes even more stable.
