Another reason for why RJ could have access to the Morphing Grid. What if the Pai Zuao had a working relationship with the Wind and/or Thunder Ninja Academies, leading to RJ having a connection to Cam.
Another question, did the Wild force have anything to do with the battle against Diashe? He wanted animals to rule the planet and there powered by Animal zords
@@connorschultz380 I'd be willing to guess Animaria was founded after the beast war had ended, maybe the wild zords came to be as a result of humans and animals setting aside their differences and deciding to live in peace. I'd be willing to even believe the Wild Zords are the spirit animals of those who fell during the war and had learned to become one with their spirits, hence why all the wild force emblems had "spirit of the earth" in the jackets.
That's my headcanon. Since both the Pai Zhua and Ninja Academies are hidden training facilities for Earth's protectors all over the world, my headcanon is that both of them are sort of distant cousins to each other.

For a Power Rangers series who's script was written during the writer's strike at the time, it was a blast to watch! 21:58 I actually disagree with you on that. By the new zords being mainly enhancements, it gives the original zords more time to shine and keeps them from being obsolete. Which, to me anyway, works better because the original zords are often considered the most connected to the rangers themselves in the lore, sometimes even being extensions of the rangers. And because of that, the megazords are more symbolic to the team rather then interchangeable robots with little personality.
Personally, I'm mixed on that. On one hand, enhancement zords do give the primary MZ more screentime overall and not pushed aside for better MZ. Plus the other stuff you said. Marcosatsu Jungle Fury is such a underrated show and is actually really good. I actually like the sunglasses as morphers since we’ve seen changers of every kind so why not? What’re your thoughts on this Marcosatsu?
Jungle Fury has one of the best settings, plot and backdrop out of all of power rangers. But because this is power rangers and we can never give without taking, Jungle Fury suffers from having probably the three blandest and most forgettable rangers I've ever seen. Even Ninja Storm and the Harry Potter one had more memorable rangers.
Years later, I’m still think the sunglasses as Morphers are still the best concept and best way to hide your secret identities, like people will say “Oh cool sunglasses” and they won’t suspect a thing.
RJ is still my favorite mentor right below tommy. also, given that RJ is a member of a group of animal spirit users, it wouldn't surprise me if tommy oliver was the person who got him into the morphing grid.
Quick note about the first mini-arc with the five monsters- they were based off the Five Deadly Venoms, one of the most famous Kung Fu movies in cinema history. The monsters were monstrous versions of the Venoms themselves- Snake, Lizard, Scorpion, Toad, and Centipede, and their kung fu demonstrations during their introduction was almost identical to the demonstrations of what the Venoms could do as their master described them. I think the reason why Dai Shi never had them fight together as a unit was because, like the Venoms, they never got along. (In the movie Snake and Centipede are evil, Toad and Lizard are good, and the Scorpion is a wild card that remained a mystery as to whose side he was on until the end fight.)
I can't tell you how many times I've rewatched these three episodes of HOPR because I enjoyed this show so much. I am a Disney Era child of power rangers and this is the one I remember the most. I loved the lion outfit for Jared and I loved the wire fu. So thank you. Thank you for giving me an easy quick way to revisit it when I can't watch the show at the moment
so growing up i was about 9 years old when jungle fury was airing on Jetix, so the prime demographic for power rangers. but i was also big into martial arts, but to be specific kung fu, so when i learned about the legendary bruce lee the year before jungle fury aired, i was hooked. the thing is when i first watched jungle fury and saw the suits, i was reminded of the yellow jumpsuit Master Lee wore during his film "game of death." which i thought was perfect considering this was a chinese martial arts based season.
It makes my head scratch with Disney treating Power Rangers like shit. Is it Oscar gold? No, but its still entertaining. On top of that with the Marvel Cinematic Universe making billions you'd think they would produce shows that are superhero based. Oh wait, they did and it had an established fan base.
Maybe their disdainment for this series is similar to Nostalgia Critic's. There is stuff that they would like but the execution comes off as dumb to them.
You know, after learning that RJ voiced Vergil in the DmC: Devil May Cry game, I..... can still look at RJ the same way as I normally did. But I find it a fun trivia that he played a likeable and one of the best mentors that Power Rangers has to offer, and later on, voice one of the biggest pricks that the Devil May Cry series as to offer.
The problem with the morphing device wasn't just that they deviated from Gekiranger. It was that the bright orange gloves the Gekirangers use to morph are so conspicuous and never explained in Jungle Fury. Why change it when their morphers are so obnoxiously visible post-morph?
Speaking as someone who was juusstt in the target demographic for Jungle Fury when it came out - I just thought they were just gloves to increase striking power. Like knuckle dusters. They're even the same colour as the Ranger's weapons. Heck, the Jungle Pride Megazord's hands are Orange for no apparent reason, and that's asthetically fine.
They had to seal away evil because they didn't have the proper power or tools too destroy those beings until the modern day. Or they didn't wish to kill some as to not taint themselves as they're enemies do since death and destruction is what they do so they don't go to the depths that they're foes have.
Finally, I don't have to just settle for audio only of this, Jungle Fury was always my second favorite power rangers series, just barely being beating out by Dino Thunder
The reason for the sunglasses instead of the original morpher ... safety issues. The original transformation sequence for Gekiranger had the rangers PUNCH INFRONT OF THEM for the morphing sequence to activate. Naturally that could lead to ... kids accidently punching each other or destroying things. It wasn't to be cool or anything, it was a Safety issue.
Fair reasoning, though, in all fairness, kinda moot since the short Line Form they use to morph involves a block and punch after that falling backfist.
Whoo! I've been looking forward to this one! Also personally i'd like to think Carnasaur altered his memories, and in the end he did get his original memories back when the series ended
Theo wanting to be a power ranger, honestly makes more sense than TJ way back in Turbo since TJ didn't seem that much younger than the original five at the time.
6:21 Heck in Samurai they revealed in an episode that ONE OF THE ZORDS fell into the crevice that sealed Master Xandred. And it wound up under the control of the monster who went on to brainwash Kevin.
Damn, man. Didn't expect this so fast, but then again, I shouldn't be too surprised since you already had the commentary recorded & the episodes ripped.
just to fill in the track suit statement, the Pia Zhua's Gekiranger counterpart, Geki Juken Beast Arts, operated a sports equipment company called SCRTC (pronounced "Scratch") as a front. Their ranger suits formed out of the company's products, including the helmet which starts as a bike helmet that expands around the head.
So in Japan, Jungle Fury is based out of a Dick's Sporting Goods and they use the equipment as materials for weapons but they all also have ancient karate training and a jungle motif? Oof, and I thought a pizza parlor was odd
game84cube well, no, it would be more along the lines of them operating out of Nike or Puma or your brand of choice. The company is mostly a designer and manufacturer and the team is based out of their corporate headquarters. As a cover story, the rangers are legally employed in the company’s “special development department.”
So the Doctor changing his sonic into a pair of sunglasses. Power Rangers changed their morphers into sunglasses. Doctor is a Ranger and the Tardis is a Zord. Cannon.
One wonders where dai shi got his foot soldiers from, but it’s become apparent to me that they are actually made from the humans who were slaughtered during his war.
Holly Shannon was in Power Rangers Mystic Force Geoff Dolan was the voice of Gosei in Power Rangers Megaforce, the voice of Koragg in Power Rangers Mystic Force, the voice of Jade Gladiator in Power Rangers Dino Thunder, the voice of Herock and Omni in Power Rangers SPD, the voice of Sergeant Thread, and the voice of Charity Worker in Power Rangers Ninja Steel
Ya mean **jarret** also ya I agree too cuz that's was basically it heck it felt like it was the longest character development that lasted all the way till the 2nd to last episode
Just noticed on this watch that the building they have their first mook fight in front of is the same place where Megaforce did their first fight, and I may remember it from Samurai, too. Anyone know if that building has a name? It seems like one of their favorite places to film.
Plus RJs character development was great because yes he was a pa zhuiq master but damn it he was great he really helped them especially when they got the sprit rangers

I don't care about Ninja Steel so I don't know if it's good. Looks kinda generic actually but I haven't seen more than 30 seconds of it so that's kinda unfair.
I just finished Gekiranger, the original show for this one, and to be fair, this one kinda made sense for the ultimate evil to be sealed and not killed? Considering in the original, he was immortal lol I am obviously ocmmenting here without having seen the jungle fury finale, maybe they adapt that too, but, from the start, I imagine they went that route because the OG did aswell and it had a reason
As someone who watched every episode on ABC Kids when it aired I loved this season (easily the best since Dino Thunder). Power Rangers was the best show on Saturday Morning again.
I thought of a team of Power Rangers whose powers came from the knights of the round table. Their enemy is Morgan Le Fay, and she was trapped but at least it was since the battle at the Hill of Camlann. So at least she had to wait a lot longer than just a 20 year span.
First lesson DODGE!!!!!!. Thing is though wouldn't even need Power Rangers if Piccalo was in the universe as he could take out all of those monsters just by himself without breaking a sweat.
12:46 -- Is anybody else concerned that Billy and Tommy might be arming ancient secret societies of martial artist child soldiers with Grid-compatable weaponry and Megazords? Because at _some_ point you know the League of Shadows is going to want in on this...
You know? I stopped watching Power Rangers after Dino Thunder.. I was growing out of it and was getting ready to go into High school at the time after Dino Thunder Aired. After a few years, THIS was the first season I came back to, wanting to see what I've missed and considering I dislike the cars/vehicle pr seasons. I can say this about Jungle Fury.. I loved it. I thought it was interesting and kinda different. And the acting was good for the most part. Also the lovely lady who plays Lilly played in Cabin in the Woods. I love her eyes. Anyways, I did like this season, but sadly I didn't watch RPM or any of the other seasons, but later watched Dino Charge. Sadly after I watched Jungle Fury, I started getting into the Sentai which I thought was a lot better then Power Rangers, but that's because the seasons I have watched have better acting (Goseiger, Gokaiger, aka megaforce and super megaforce, Shinkenger, aka Samurai, and Kyoruger aka dino charge (Which I thought was a good season) Edit: YOU SOUND LIKE A MAJESTIC FUCKING EAGLE!
I know it’s not much of a competition, but Jungle Fury makes RPM look like a joke. Like, seriously, why didn’t people latch onto this one more than RPM?
I think it would've been cool if Theo was the one to come up with the call line and maybe even the morphing line. Considering he's egotistical, he'd probably do it to make him look cooler and flashy, and by that, make him look more perfect to reference his fear of failing in front of others.
hey this was my first Power rangers show so thered a weird nostalgia for me watching this and im happy that this season was actually good and that it wasn't overdrive
You know, with how easy it apparently is to tap into the morphing grid that civilians can do it (Cam from Ninja Storm, Hartford from Operation Overdrive, RJ, and Antonio from Samurai) how come we don't see more government backed Ranger teams, I mean prior to Beast Morphers, the only Ranger team that is backed by the government is Lightspeed, and before anyone brings them up: RPM is in another universe and SPD and Time Force are both from the future
With Cam and others, they probably had help from previous rangers. The governments probably had to learn how to tap into the morphing grid by themselves from scratch which can take a lot of time, money and manpower. Which can explain why it took until Beast Morphers to be able to use the morphing grid on such a large scale.
Maybe because despite being a cub, Casey has shown signs of potentially harnessing his animal spirit, like how he managed to fight back against Jarrod when he's being bullied.
SPD and Time Force future technology did a create job on capture Monsters forever. Time Force capture monsters into small action figures, while SPD locked monsters in Cards forever.
That makes the Earth seem like the universe's dumping ground for ancient evil. Like, after the heroes of another world take down their villain and trap it they go... so growing up i was about 9 years old when jungle fury was airing on Jetix, so the prime demographic for power rangers. but i was also big into martial arts, but to be specific kung fu, so when i learned about the legendary bruce lee the year before jungle fury aired, i was hooked. the thing is when i first watched jungle fury and saw the suits, i was reminded of the yellow jumpsuit Master Lee wore during his film "game of death." which i thought was perfect considering this was a chinese martial arts based season.
In retrospect finding out that Taka and Lewis are friends places so many puzzle pieces in order and explains so many things...
Wow, both versions of Vergil are dubbed by Power Rangers. That's hilariously awesome.
If I had a nickel for everytime a former power Ranger voiced Vergil, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, I’m surprised it happened twice
"Hartford is able to make more rangers"
"Your rich buy an army"
Okay but the Jungle Fury theme song is *legendary*
It's kinda underrated.
It's slaps so hard
Disney: we hated power rangers because it promoted old toys
Me: YOU HAVE THE DISNEY PRINCESS LINE HOW THE FUCK DID YOU HATE POWER RANGERS
No. I have a better response to Disney’s stupidity.
Me: THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU BUY IT?!
Mao: Over 10000 years ago there was a great evil. Linkara: Yeah, her name was Rita. Don't worry, she's been dealt with. *That* was funny.
Headmaster Mao is played by Nathaniel Lees. He played Captain Mifune in the Matrix Trilogy. That guy is awesome.
@@Kytseo True but compare it to the Sentai morph.... it's a bit more .... violent.
I appreciate the two different abridged series' within about 60 seconds. I appreciate it A LOT.
Whoo! I've been looking forward to this one! Also personally i'd like to think Carnasaur altered his memories, and in the end he did get his original memories back when the series ended
Jungle Fury, Samurai and Megaforce were the power ranger shows I grew up on and the amount of nostalgia I felt when that theme played was outstanding
@23:53-24:08
😅🤣 Nice addition of the *ROBO KNIGHT...YOU HAVE A MISSION TO FULFILL!!!* quote there.
Neo-Xgray87 ACTING!!!
Past the Zordon era Jungle Fury is my favorite season. Mainly because the bad guy was a normal human with internal struggles.
Damn, man. Didn't expect this so fast, but then again, I shouldn't be too surprised since you already had the commentary recorded & the episodes ripped.
Classic villain story: The Humans are monsters that must be destroyed, but anything else is fine. How egocentric are we?
I like this season more because I like it when their powers come from some mystic magic force instead of tech that some guy made.
just to fill in the track suit statement, the Pia Zhua's Gekiranger counterpart, Geki Juken Beast Arts, operated a sports equipment company called SCRTC (pronounced "Scratch") as a front. Their ranger suits formed out of the company's products, including the helmet which starts as a bike helmet that expands around the head.
metropod what a weird concept for a sentai.
Gekiranger has one of the best themes
Watching this again, I'm loving how you say their secret society's name
So the Doctor changing his sonic into a pair of sunglasses. Power Rangers changed their morphers into sunglasses. Doctor is a Ranger and the Tardis is a Zord. Cannon.
Joseph Santi oh my gosh a tardis in a megazord.
If Doctor Who cannon then where is the Doctor during Time Force especially at the end
Luis Hernandez Holding down the Time War as mentor to a team of Timelords with attitude.
Joseph Santi Dun Dun Dun
Also as a mentor I wonder if he going to served Jelly Babies for dinner?
The time force cryo chamber fades through time and is bigger on the inside.
One wonders where dai shi got his foot soldiers from, but it’s become apparent to me that they are actually made from the humans who were slaughtered during his war.
Holly Shannon was in Power Rangers Mystic Force
Geoff Dolan was the voice of Gosei in Power Rangers Megaforce, the voice of Koragg in Power Rangers Mystic Force, the voice of Jade Gladiator in Power Rangers Dino Thunder, the voice of Herock and Omni in Power Rangers SPD, the voice of Sergeant Thread, and the voice of Charity Worker in Power Rangers Ninja Steel
My favorite part of The Show were The Theme Song and Jarrod`s character development which had shades of Tommy,Trent and Marrick`s.
Aspie Media - Just being nice by explaining that it's spelled Jarred.
@@Goleon the first guy was right
Ya mean **jarret** also ya I agree too cuz that's was basically it heck it felt like it was the longest character development that lasted all the way till the 2nd to last episode
Just noticed on this watch that the building they have their first mook fight in front of is the same place where Megaforce did their first fight, and I may remember it from Samurai, too. Anyone know if that building has a name? It seems like one of their favorite places to film.
I'm guessing around Tokyo Dome City.
Plus RJs character development was great because yes he was a pa zhuiq master but damn it he was great he really helped them especially when they got the sprit rangers
Hooray, another season in review to fill out my growing understanding of the franchise.
Jokie155 He had done a HOPR on every season up to Dino Charge, until Blip stopped existing and TH-cam screwed everything up.
I know, I'm waiting patiently for them to come out, seeing as it's these reuploads that gave me an interest in PR to begin with.
Huzzah, reviewing the season that helped to redeem Disney's efforts in handling Power Rangers... for a fifth time. X) Love seeing these brought back up on TH-cam.
Great work Lewis!
This was my first introduction to the Power Rangers, I was waiting to see when you would doa histroy on this. Thanks :)
I remember watching jungle fury as a kid and i felt in love with it straight away i say this is the greatest power rangers series of all time even up to this day.
Power rangers jungle fury has a very special place in my heart because for mosts first power rangers was mighty Morphin ,mine was jungle fury. And im glad it was
"It can only go up from Overdrive." Ohhhhhh 2014 Linkara, how wrong you were, how unfortunately wrong you were.
To be fair rpm and jungle fury is better than overdrive
@@elizabethbeck4071 Yeah, Megaforce though.
Although I think he did say that he did still find Overdrive to be worse
@@calumbishop7082 *Time warp portal opens* I’m from 2 years in the future! Hasbro is making Power Rangers shows now and they’re GOOD!!!
@@NoahDaArk And it has big moments, like [SPOILERS]
We now have a canonically LGBT Ranger, as well as the return of Lord Zedd! And they actually explain what happened after the Z-Wave purified Zedd.
@@coreylineberry8557 Oh crap! Who’s the canon LGBT ranger if I may ask? I’m sadly unable to keep up to date on Dino Fury since I don’t have TV
Jungle Fury was for me the best Disney season. I am having a real hard time with Ninja Steel right now.
I don't care about Ninja Steel so I don't know if it's good. Looks kinda generic actually but I haven't seen more than 30 seconds of it so that's kinda unfair.
Understandable
I just finished Gekiranger, the original show for this one, and to be fair, this one kinda made sense for the ultimate evil to be sealed and not killed? Considering in the original, he was immortal lol I am obviously ocmmenting here without having seen the jungle fury finale, maybe they adapt that too, but, from the start, I imagine they went that route because the OG did aswell and it had a reason
In the case of Rita I think Zordon captured her just before he disappeared into his time warp so he didn’t really have time to defeat her
As someone who watched every episode on ABC Kids when it aired I loved this season (easily the best since Dino Thunder). Power Rangers was the best show on Saturday Morning again.
This was my first Power Rangers show I randomly stumbled apon it on Netflix and I became a fan ever since but I grew out of it after Super Megaforce
wait if RJ's dad is master Finn then his name is Robert James "RJ" Finn?
He has 3 first names
I thought of a team of Power Rangers whose powers came from the knights of the round table. Their enemy is Morgan Le Fay, and she was trapped but at least it was since the battle at the Hill of Camlann. So at least she had to wait a lot longer than just a 20 year span.
Ever see Mystic Knights of Tir na Nog?
Chad Riggs Sounds like a good spin-off series to Mystic Knights of Tir Na Gog.
That would be a good case to arc weld it to power rangers. Serioulsy saban and toei needs their own shared universe.
Yeah I have never heard of the show you are talking about
Chad Riggs could work
4:33 Now I want to see Piccalo as a Power Ranger mentor
Sadly after I watched Jungle Fury, I started getting into the Sentai which I thought was a lot better then Power Rangers, but that's because the seasons I have watched have better acting (Goseiger, Gokaiger, aka megaforce and super megaforce, Shinkenger, aka Samurai, and Kyoruger aka dino charge (Which I thought was a good season)
Edit: YOU SOUND LIKE A MAJESTIC FUCKING EAGLE!
I know it’s not much of a competition, but Jungle Fury makes RPM look like a joke. Like, seriously, why didn’t people latch onto this one more than RPM?
It may have just been what you did with Mao, but I fell in love with Jungle Fury when I first saw this in 2014.
I literally JUST finished this season. I love Linkara's timing.
7:42 WHY CANT YOU BE MORE LIKE THAT MAJESTIC STALLION JEAN OVER THERE?!
The Rinshi are probably the best trained foot soldiers in the franchise, at least to this point
"theres" sorry typo
I actually liked jungle fury alot, proves you dont need a bunch of explosions or ultra zords, but good story telling and awesome characters ie RJ
Love all of the TFS nods in this review. Never fails to make me laugh
I know why they aren't there, but I really miss the intros in this series.
“Camille regurgitates a fly to provide unecessary commentary cause... power rangers”.... If only he knew it was the same in Gekiranger, poor Bae lol
I love the sunglasses morph! I remember as a six year-old I thought it was so cool!
This season no matter what is great and I love it
You know, with how easy it apparently is to tap into the morphing grid that civilians can do it (Cam from Ninja Storm, Hartford from Operation Overdrive, RJ, and Antonio from Samurai) how come we don't see more government backed Ranger teams, I mean prior to Beast Morphers, the only Ranger team that is backed by the government is Lightspeed, and before anyone brings them up: RPM is in another universe and SPD and Time Force are both from the future
With Cam and others, they probably had help from previous rangers.
The governments probably had to learn how to tap into the morphing grid by themselves from scratch which can take a lot of time, money and manpower. Which can explain why it took until Beast Morphers to be able to use the morphing grid on such a large scale.
What about the question of why Casey, a cub, is selected to replace Jared instead of one of the other finalists from the beginning of the episode.
I’m assuming that Casey has a tragic backstory and a lightning bolt scar somewhere on his body.
@@JimmySteller Makes sense
Maybe because despite being a cub, Casey has shown signs of potentially harnessing his animal spirit, like how he managed to fight back against Jarrod when he's being bullied.
Couple of references to Team Four Star? 10/10, best video, bar none
SPD and Time Force future technology did a create job on capture Monsters forever. Time Force capture monsters into small action figures, while SPD locked monsters in Cards forever.
They should've locked Dai Shi in the boxed with a key. That box was totally easy to open up.
It's most likely that every single few acres on Earth has a secret tomb holding the next big baddie. Pretty much the planet is a giant prison.
That makes the Earth seem like the universe's dumping ground for ancient evil. Like, after the heroes of another world take down their villain and trap it they go...
"So now what do we do with the Overlord?"
"... meh, send it to Earth, it's far enough away."
"I heard you can get a discount for ancient burials sites this week."
