Man I forgot about nullscapes entirely when I was talking about how this could be the hardest level with 1 game mode💀 I’ve been busy revising for exams recently as my major ones are in 2 weeks time and so I have to write scripts for these videos pretty late at night so if you have been noticing occasional miss information like the nullscapes thing I hope that explains it. If you are wondering it will be the THIRD hardest if it’s placement is correct
Hi! guy who decorated the dual here. The decorator team behind Swing Swing were instructed to decorate it using 1.9-early 2.1 type styles, and judging by your critique it seems we really succeeded on this front. Personally, I also totally understand the worry about one-gamemode levels being repetitive, and it is valid! Even if Swing Swing feels one-note at certain points, at least for the timeframe of 2.2 at which we made this, I think kaza did a great job not making this entirely "bland". Each part's gameplay has its own edge per se, so while watching it may not be entirely entertaining, the player definitely shouldn't feel this way. Swing is a difficult gamemode (probably still harder than wave once we get to a point players are actually proficient with Swing), so the little variations alongside some "repetitive" familiarity will help with building players' understanding of the gamemode. Funny to say this given this is mainlist in 2024, but I digress. Thank you for the review! Always a treat to see people express their opinions on levels you worked on.
In my opinion, the fact that this level only uses swing makes it harder for now. Since not a lot of people are good at swing now, it'll be seen as a very hard level but as more levels use swing and people get better at it, we will probably agree that it is actually easier than what we used to believe, and maybe push it to it's limits. Just like the wave gamemode.
I feel like this is a good assessment but I don't exactly like the gameplay logic you use. Sure, it probably should be more interesting but rounding up EVERY non-gimmick part as "normal swing gameplay" is a bit ignorant? There are many different styles of "normal" swing gameplay; the part at 50 and 68 is incredibly open and has no platforms to land on - it is different than the part at 44 which is much more claustrophobic.. I just find it strange to loop them all together when each part has a significant amount of difference i'd say,,

I love the fact that this level exists because swing is overhated in my opinion. I find it very fun to build gameplay for!
If it's harder that Viprin UFO I will be mad because that level is fucking based and deserves more respect.
