  • In this video I’m sharing my perspective on femininity and appearance ❤️ I go through all the aspect of appearance you can improve to look and FEEL more feminine. These are suggestions so only follow them if they make you FEEL feminine. I know it can be a bit scary in our modern society to look very feminine, but the world needs your femininity so please share your femininity ❤️
    1. Hair
    - Keep it healthy.
    - Let it grow long.
    - Don’t colour it (too much).
    - Use less heat.
    - Don’t wash it too often.
    - Use overnight oil treatments.
    - Cut it yourself (if you can.
    2. Face
    - Take care of your skin.
    - Take off your makeup with coconut oil.
    - Use a fat night cream and light day crème.
    - Have well-groomed eyebrows.
    - Find a “feminine” makeup look.
    - Enjoy the process of putting on makeup.
    - Take good care of your teeth.
    3. Nails
    - Have well-groomed nails.
    - Your manicure will last longer, if the layers are COMPLETELY dry, so do your nail polish layers over a couple of days.
    4. Cleanliness & Grooming
    - Wash your body every day (not the hair).
    - Wear your body perfume on your chest and wrists on top of a layer of cream.
    - Have a perfume for your hair, so it smells wonderful.
    - Have a spritzer/small perfume bottle in your bag with you throughout the day.
    - Find your unique scent ( don’t go for the popular ones)
    5. Clothes
    - Keep your closet organized.
    - Get inspired by the capsule wardrobe concepts.
    - Wear feminine colours (to me that’s light and rosy colours).
    - Wear dresses and skirts as much as possible.
    - Show your waist and curves.
    - The 1,5 rule (Show only 1 and a half/ or 50% of the legs, arms and chest combined).
    - Place your underwear correctly and straighten your back.
    - Wear spanks.
    - Wear flowy and nice fabric.
    - Wear feminine shoes (heels will make you walk more feminine).
    - Make DIY insoles to fit into your high heeled shoes
    6. Be approachable
    - Smile at people and look them in the eyes.
    - Practice smiling at people’s backs or fixed points to get used to it.
    - Be open and look up when you are in public.
    - Start conversations with (random) people everywhere.
    7. Sleepwear
    - Wear nice, sensual, feminine sleepwear - So you wake up feeling nice, sensual, feminine - because that’s a great way to start the day!

Thank you so much for this video! I am trying to transition my wardrobe from sweatshirts and jeans to something more sophisticated. I am also trying to tame my mane of curls so they look defined and pretty :) so thanks for all the advice !

You are so very welcome ! 😊 Before 80% of my wardrobe was black and 80% of my outfits was black jeans. Now my wardrobe is 60% pink-ish 😂 I just feel so much better dressing feminine. Good luck with your journey, the world hungers for more feminine women 💖

Start slow, a good pair of jeans and a good blouse can make you look more feminine. You dont have to rule out jeans completely.

What a great video! I've been thinking lately about all these things you've mentioned and couldn't agree more. It's hard to be feminine in this jeans-and-tshirts world, haha, but its so rewarding! Wearing skirts, heels and pink colours and regular days, not just for dressing up, can make you feel SO much more feminine. Keep up the awesome content, I'm loving your channel. Can't wait for the next video :)

I've been collecting more natural fiber cotton/linen everyday dresses - it's much easier than matching a top to jeans and so much more comfortable! Also I have a great body oil from a local soap shop that has a floral fragrance. I'm going to start adding it to my hair as conditioner per your hair tips. Lolol at the underwear tips and looking at one-eyed people.

That's a great idea! Thank you 💗 The first thing I would do (and did) is to declutter the konmari way. Then I would go on pinterest and pin all the outfits I liked on a board, then choose my favour 30 outfits/picture and pin on a new board. Then look at what's in common between the outfits. (The outfits should look like what you want to look like.) Maybe you see a lot of a-line skirts, v-necks and wrap dresses. Maybe all the colors a light, and with floral patterns. Maybe it's more simplistic or really colorful or has a vibe from a specific decade. Hone in on the key pieces from the outfits. Start there 💗

I consider myself pretty feminine, I love barbies and fashion, but I just can't do long hair. I have a ton of Mediterranean in me so my hair grows THICK. I love it most when it's at least shoulder length. Something that frames the face. I just cut it last week and I was so happy. For the first time in MONTHS I'm eager to dress up because I like how I look again. It kind of confuses me when everyone's harping on women having short hair, because there are a ton of short dos that look super feminine (at least in my opinion.)

I just came across this video and I liked these tips! I'm a tomboy but I do know I'm feminine because of the energy I have. Also I've stopped using makeup and instead just went for organic facial washes and scrubs. I love using Witch Hazel because it really helps with the problematic areas on my face. I love BB cream with SPF 30 to 50. I have a pixie haircut which actually looks great and it is so much easier to maintain. I use less shampoo 😱. I wear jeans or hiking pants from REI or Harlem pants with a nice graphic tees. I'm more sporty and nerdy in the way I dress. But I will wear dresses and skirts in the summer because the fabric is amazing. I LOVE boots!! I feel wonderful in boots! I wear them mostly in spring, fall and winter!

Excellent video, Sophie. This is off topic, but are Danish women nationalistic about their country? Do they feel the sympathetic need to let incompatible cultures into Denmark?

    • @LivingfreewithSophie
      @LivingfreewithSophie  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Sadly they are not very nationalistic and to me it seems like they don't really understand "culture" or what their own culture is. But a lot of the older demographic in Denmark are against letting too many incompatible immigrants in which shows in the elected politicians. More of the political parties are taking are harder stand towards criminal immigrants as well. I think more and more Danes are becoming more aware of how easy they are to "use" for people/cultures who have other notions about right and wrong.

Hmm, it sounds like you might not known
what eye shap you have 🤔
The different type of eye shaps require different techniques to look the most flattering.
After you have mastered you eye makeup (may it be a simple liner in the right shap or more eyeshadow), you should practice smiling more with your eyes so they communicate your positive, bright and light energy. Look for the positive in other people. 💗
And remember that different eye shapes can give such character and charm to the face - insecurities often only get noticed when people try to hide them. You probably have friend which have unique characteristics, and they just make your friend unique and special 😊
And thank you very much 💗 personally, I dont wear mascara on my bottom lashes, because that would make my eyes look more round than what I prefer at the moment 😊

And hair, why wash the girly smell out every time?Heheheee Yes, girls hair smells so wonderful!
Perfume is only a sterile product if the "girl part" is missing! (guys perspective huh)

An tone feminine is to care for your self and to highlight how you (and your physique) are different from men, eg by focusing on the waist. Personally I felt more feminine when I lost some weight :)

What makes you qualified to teach others how to be or feel more feminine? I mean no disrespect. I am inquiring which credentials you have, or is this all an opinion? I ask because I don't feel, at least for me personally, that any of those things you mentioned have anything to do with real femininity, at least not for me, in fact they serve a contrary purpose to the insinuated goal. However that purpose, again, for me; comes across in the shallowest and weakest attempt at portrayng the stereotypical roll of a female. To me the strongest and most important foundations or tenants of being a female are centered in our strong mental and emotional capabilities/capacities, as well as combining those 2 things to reach a logical summation of the problem at hand or the situation with which one is dealing. I also believe that visual femininity is a spectrum and no one set of rules will define every person on that spectrum. I've met women who look more masculine with long hair and I've also met women who look amazingly and pristinely feminine with shaved heads as well as everything in between.
I suppose what I'm getting at is that it upsets me you would define such a complex being as we females are in such vacuous, unimportant and immaterial things. Femininity is more than an aesthetic. Femininity is more than a concept; femininity is something with which we should all become invested and celebrate, and all of those celebrations are going to be varied just like the variations that define femininity. I don't mean to attack you, I would just like to know why you feel, we has women can be so easily defined/constructed, and I wonder if you hadn't considered the fact that video such as this can lead people a stray at a time when we don't need anymore unrest, not that anytime is proper to trivialize an entire groups of people's fundamentals but I digress. I look forward to your reply. Thank you for your time.

Hi, well, this videos in only covering femininity and appearance - not everything about femininity. If my tips doesn't make you feel femininine, then the tips are not for you. It's important that you find what makes you feel femininine, and if I'm not the right one for you, I'm not :)
I researched femininity because I realized I had neglected it and embracing my femininity improved my life a lot. I want to help others do them same.
To me femininity isn't one thing, but there are general things/behaviors which are more femininine but not all women fit everything. Imagine there are 10 boxes of femininity but most women don't enjoy all of them - just some of them. There is no one way to be femininine but there is a general way to be femininine - some general characteristics , across cultures, religions and time.
Being a stereotypical femininine woman is nothing to be ashamed of and it should not be shamed for by other women. Be the type of woman which makes you feel good. :)
The appearance aspect of feminininity is superficial, yes, but it is also the easiest place to start a femininity journey (IMO). I don't claim to be an expert, I just share what has helped me and how I view this subject.
I think you are right about women's greatest power is in emotional control and responsibility. They way woman can understand other people when they stop being selfish is almost magical. That is however a deeper longer journey, and that's just not the place I started out. It is something I will bring up in other videos though :)
