      It's sad that communication degrees are often looked down upon or thought of as "women degrees" by some people. Communication and how to be tactful with others really seems to have been forgotten about. When I took communication classes in college, they were some of the most valuable skills i learned.

    I actually think there’s a lot we can learn from young girls. They are usually more confident in who they are, and sometimes we lose that confident attitude as we grow up. Young girls and children know their self worth, and are unapologetically themselves💜

    I feel that being a mom in this day and age (with lack of village support) requires you to become a wonder woman, and lose a lot of femininity. That's probably how marriages start drifting apart too. If only there was more village support. It's not easy to hold it together when it feels like you are mentally and physically tortured by your circumstances. It brings up resilience so much that you end up a wonder woman. As a woman with kids I relate a lot to wonder woman because of that

  • @joygernautm6641

    Gentleness is indeed undervalued by society. You know who notices it? The elderly. I work with them daily, and when I was in nursing school one of my teachers said “always touch with love”. When people are frail, sick, vulnerable or afraid, gentle touch, voice and presence is a lifeline through fear and darkness.

  • @Saatkraehen
    @Saatkraehen 5 ปีที่แล้ว +51

    I feel like Katniss Everdeen is actually an example of an incredibly gentle woman. She always remains gentle and calm in the face of conflict and DOES NOT want to fight, she is doing it all to protect her little sister, like any mother or big sister would! She is also incredibly disciplined and calm, doesn't swear or yell at people and is resilient to the point that she eventually grows up to have her own children even though she had a traumatising past. She is not about fighting and being loud and living in the moment *at all*, Katniss is doing it all for a better future for her sister, and eventually, her own children.

    • @Neverseenstars
      @Neverseenstars 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Totally agree 100% i dont think she really thought too deep about it. Katniss is nonviolent except when it comes to life and death. She is incredibly sensitive to human suffering. she just detaches from others to stay sane.
      Katniss isnt really the alpha female huntresss the media irl made her out to be.
      She is just a scared young girl gathering her courage to survive. Her reluctance to motherhood was not a " sneaky feminist agenda". She lived in a world where children died of starvatio, so she felt she would rather stay unmarried and a virgin than to raise children to be killed.
      But thats not how it turned out, she had kids when the capitol was overthrown and she loved them!
      Katniss has always been a character I felt close too. She is a nurterer in a more physical sense ( providing food for others) which included attaining food and preparing it.
      she filled the provider role but only with the help of others around her ( like Gale and Peeta, both males) due to her fathers death.
      I think people who havent read the books get the wrong idea about what she represents.

    • @gigijanae1460
      @gigijanae1460 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly I love Katniss very much. She was strong and resilient although she was not obviously feminine she wasn't aggressive and didn't display typically masculine qualities without a reason. She was selfless, caring, and sensitive it's just that the card life handed her made her more detached from displaying feminine qualities. She wasn't trying to fight a patriarchy or be some hardcore feminist she was just a smart girl who was quick on her feet, courageous enough to not let her fear control her, and more than anything she just wanted protect her sister and I think that's what's most admirable about her.

    • @Saatkraehen
      @Saatkraehen 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gigijanae1460 I mean, she was trying to fight the patriarchy as in a system that actively hurt her and her family / the ones she tried to protect but she wouldn't have dared to try that before offering herself up as a tribute out of fear for her sister. her fight against the system started *after* that.

    • @gigijanae1460
      @gigijanae1460 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Saatkraehen I'm referring to how Katniss is made to be some feminist "patriarchy smashing" icon when she is far from that. The thing was that the government wasn't some patriarchy. It was a tyrannical dictatorship. She wasn't trying to fight against a government that was oppressing women, she was fighting a government that was oppressing PEOPLE. Modern day feminist are fighting a government they believe is supposedly oppressing women and taking our rights away. Katniss was more than that.

      The same thought came to my mind! Actually, that was the best thing about the movie in my opinion - the thoughtful way that her femininity was shown, unlike the way that most female super heroes are portrayed (at least from what I’ve seen). My guess is that the reference might have been off the cuff while feeing under pressure; I know I have misspoken similarly before.😆

    I just found your channel and i just love you!!!❤❤❤ Youre a Christian woman, and that's beautiful, i find myself to be a woman of science. There is something so wonderful about how a Christian woman's words can reflect an anti-theist woman's thoughts. The traits/instincs of femininity are something that, for the most part, have always came naturally to me. Id always deny it because i thought thats what i was supposed to do in this culture....i was a radical feminist in high school. A few years ago i threw everything i thought i should be out the window and truly embraced my natural instincs and inclinations and be what ive always known i wanted to be and ive never felt so complete.❤❤❤

    Hey there! I've been watching you're channel ever since you created it - and recently I was just reading your blog and I stumbled upon your story of "Surviving to Thriving", and I can relate so much. My life is starting to become more free with work slowing down now in the summer time, and I just was wondering if you could make a video or write on your blog about how to deal with feeling guilty about having more free time as a woman? I find myself so unnecessarily stressed about having more free time to nurture my feminine skills and to get back to things I love; cooking, baking, sewing/quilting, gardening and cleaning...did you have a similar internal process when you transitioned to being a homemaker? I feel the stress from people in my world constantly expecting women to be career driven and "pulling her weight" in society from that perspective. Do you have any tips to reduce the anxiety from not living up to these expectations that are placed on women?

    I really appreciate the advice to let the girl in you go and welcome the woman. I'm in my late 20s now and I often have to remind myself if there is something I feel I still need to "grow up" about, I didnt miss the boat. I think its easy now to think that maybe I've done all the growing I can or lost the years that I had the opportunity to change. I constantly have to remind myself that growth is gradual. I see a woman in myself in many ways but I am also still a girl in other ways and I have a lifetime to grow into the woman I want to be

    For every point you've brought up, im reminded of a trial in my life that God has allowed in, so that they may help harbor those characteristics... Long suffering (through family issues), self discipline (to obtain mental happiness), creativity & confidence (throughout self image issues)... I know God is preparing me to be a virtuous wife - I know these trials are shaping my character - and I pray that God would throw more my way because I want to be the best mother I can be, I want to be the best wife I can be, I want to be the best feminine woman I can be. And the most amazing part is that God has placed these things on my heart so early in my life. I am sixteen, and I can't wait to be, well, me.

    There's a book called the Bingo Theory by Mimi Ikonn. You might be interested. It talks about the femininity and masculinity and how girls can have a masculine dominate energy and how even males can be lead by their feminine energy more than their masculine, vice versa.
    As a woman, I am definitely more feminine than masculine but I still act more masculine at work, but outside I am naturally feminine.
    This book is more so based on a theory (not scientifically based), but I thought you might find it interesting. Many blessings to you. God bless you 🥳🙏💜

    Also i think it would help people if you made vids diving deeper into all these concepts and made them a bit more concrete (along with your regular vids ofc), so they can apply these things to their lives better. This might just be my interest in psychology talking, but i think it would be more helpful

    Feminine women are just intoxicating for us, in a way I can't describe, I guess that's our nature. The problem is, with all of the modern demands in the corporative world, and several other factors, I think that femininity is disappearing very quickly. I would like to see a video about this, and how femiminity can be balanced with what's consider success nowadays.

    I appreciate this message so much. As a feminist, I believe that everyone, regardless of gender, deserves the right to choose our own path and be our most authentic selves, wherever on the spectrum between masculine or feminine we may fall, and whatever biology we were born with. It is so true that femininity is dismissed no matter what gender you are as weaker and more frivolous than masculinity, and that carries forward today with so many believing that the only way to be a powerful woman is to be masculine. Thank you so much for taking back the narrative to show the value and true strength of femininity, and potentially make it more accessible to anyone who feels that this is them.
    I personally have struggled as someone who naturally has always had a mix of masculine and feminine traits and pursuits, and have been told by people that a) I had to pick one extreme instead of dividing my after school activities between martial arts, music, and sewing club, and loving them all equally, or b) was only cool and worthy of being confident when I was taking part in more traditionally-considered masculine activities and expressing those traits.
    There are both men and women and other people in my life who feel authentically feminine, and they still struggle with giving themselves permission to be feminine after having been taught for so long that it is weak and frivolous to do so. So thank you so much for your love and gentleness in spreading your message. Lots of love and hugs x

      I feel like modern feminism has been quite negative towards traditionally feminine women, and it doesn't seem to value femininity as a virtue that is just as powerful as masculinity, which is sad. Fire is a powerful thing, but it doesn't mean that the ocean isn't powerful because it's not hot. Femininity is equally as powerful as masculinity, it's just different. We shouldn't seek to be more masculine to be strong women, we should just be embracing whatever qualities we're naturally born with as individuals, whether that's 100% feminine, 100% masculine, or more likely, any combination in between. Just be yourself friend 😊

      I think she was referring to 1 Peter 3:3-4 - “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment such as braided hair or gold jewelry or fine clothes, but from the inner disposition of your heart, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.” - These are spiritual qualities but were also attributed to women.

    Everything she said about gentleness is true: Once, I was blamed for getting someone in trouble at school when I didn't do anything and the girl was innocent. Many people were angry at me. The girl who got in trouble came up and asked me about it to know my point of view, so I told her what I knew with gentleness and I empathized with her situation, since technically we were in the same boat. Turns out we became closer because of our honesty towards each other and gentleness.
