I disagree with the comments, maybe it doesn’t come through on this video, but Ria is the strongest singer I think I’ve ever seen live, she was incredible in this production and it was this that made me fall completely in love with it (having seen videos of Glenn, Patti, Elaine etc. perform them in different ways). I thought she was incredible
I was blessed to see Betty Buckley and Petula Clark , they were both very different in their interpretation, i loved them both. This lady is every bit as talented!!!
Ah, interesting. I saw this in Wimbledon, and remember being disappointed after having seen Ria's incredible star turn at the Coliseum in 2016 when Glenn was sick. This tour was adequate for "regional" theatre, but frankly I don't think Sunset is a regional show - like many of the other bombastic mega musicals of that period, so much relies on the set and stylisation that, to me at least, without a decent budget and astute designer + director they just come across as camp.

I know it wasn't the most successful ventures that had people wondering if Sunset as a "property" still resonates with people - but honestly from what I saw, it was the cast. Ria sings beautifully but she and Danny seem to way over-act... and kill the dramatic tension of things. With One Look and As If We Never Said Goodbye -the lyrics didn't seem to match her facial expressions or the tone of the moment. Even the finale - Danny nor Ria seemed in character. The only scene that seemed on point and genuinely moving was "New Ways to Dream." Curious if others felt the same way and if that was a criticism found as this toured?
Yeesh... It’s a “no” from me fam. It’s like watching Beth Level’s character from Drowsy Chaperone play Norma; instead of her being a believable damaged person, she’s a caricature with less vocal power.
One of the worst performances I have ever seen. I am a huge fan of the show but almost walked out. Jones was appalling - as a subtle as a sledge hammer. It was an affront on multiple levels.
I was stupid enough to buy a ticket…. twice!!! I had to return because I was sure I had missed something. The friend that was with me - and who had never seen it - said that they just rattled through it to the point where she just became bored. I couldn’t believe it as it’s such a strong score. However, watching this I suddenly see what she meant. Thanks for posting though, it really is appreciated!
I've seen Glenn Close (NYC), Elaine Paige (West End), Debra Byrne (Melbourne) and Judi Connelli (Sydney Concert Version) ... this Sunset Blvd 2nd UK Tour 2018 version looks and sounds utterly AWFUL!!!!

No, I disagree. Remember this is a Gothic story and tinged with silent movie moments. The performances matched the ambience perfectly.

The guy playing Joe isn't even acting and barely singing. She is not strong enough. This is embarrasing.
