Looks gorgeous! I love your new color scheme. The music in this video is excellent. I haven't even run my Sledge yet... it'll get run starting this weekend at the dunes. Too much dirt, twigs, rocks and crap where I am now... you should see all the crap that came out of my Outcast V2 and Fireteam. Ugh.
Sweet upgrades bro. Chassis is one of the key Upgrades for hard bashing the Sledge. VITAVON makes awesome stuff for sure. I got one for a New project build I'm slowly working on.
Thanks man. I have been watching all your Kraton 8s videos trying to figure out what I want to do for power and gearing. I had the rtr running a 39/39, 800kv which I liked. But this time I am thinking Castle XLX2/1100kv.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs well, I appreciate you checking them out. I have an XLX2 ESC collecting dust LoL 😂. It's a great ESC just Not a big fan of the settings setup and ESC switch 😜. It's also an amp hungry system LoL 😂. But Pairing it with castle 1100kv would be a Beast. I'm diggin my Max5 800kv combo 39/39 gearing.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs 800kv is well suited for a longer heavy chassis like the Kraton. I personally preferred it for the extra torque. I have 1100kv/max56 combo on my Outcast 8s.
@@CommanderAstigRC Thanks for the input. I can get a max5/800 combo for $500, compared to the Castle/1100KV for $700. (CDN). That's $200 I could put toward a good servo. Hrmmmmm....
Damn good looking Sledge, was recently thinking of purchasing the Sledge but Axial wrecked those thoughts with the release of the scx6 honcho, Maybe my next purchase will be a Sledge. Thumbs Up :)
A friend of mine fitted the M2C chassis on his sledge along with the reverse motor mount and that's worked well for him. What hasn't worked so well is that he keeps breaking the fans on his Max6 so he's on the look out for some upgraded fans. Cool video mate 👌👍😀
Just subscribed. Do you think it will be more cost-effective if I just buy all the parts? It just seems to me that if I buy the stock truck, I'll only be retaining the wheels, differential housings (front & back bulkhead) internals, battery straps, A-arms, shocks, and chassis side rails. It seems like it would be cheaper to buy a separate, paintable body as well. Thanks
That thing is sweet man !! But you spend $800 on a truck then gotta put another $6-800 into it just so it doesn’t break? 🤔. That’s not a dig on you man just the traxxas fan boys!!! Ok even that’s a joke. Love all your videos!!
No no. Dude you are exactly right. The Sledge is a crazy expensive truck. Unlike its two rivals that don’t need much to get going. The sledge is a money pit.
You are not wrong! I’m not even on YT and I’ve tallied up everything I have into my Sledge so far and to be completely honest it’s actually a little beyond that. But to be fair even if it was a Kraton I was building to this level it wouldn’t be far behind...
I was unhappy with my sledge. For what it cost it was pretty weak, everything is sloppy, and the tires are rubbish. It's mostly M2C now. I should have bought another XMAX instead. It's not up to par with the Xmax or trx4. Even the Maxx is better made when it comes to bashing.
always u put out really good stuff and good content but just a question??? are u anti M2C parts?? I'm not a M2C employee or something but coming from a person put so much money on cars like my self is confusing to me.hey just a comment and a question.keep up the good work,God Bless u and yours man🙏🙏
This has to be one of your most expensive R/Cs at this point
I really like the full CNC design of this thing it’s so beautiful.
I have M2C on mine but I can’t deny this ones beauty.

Beautiful work there, the Sledge really needs a chassis, the HR inserts and maybe the machined diffs, and then it's pretty solid IMO.
Thanks man.
And shock towers. That was the first part that went on my truck.

Hyper flow with aluminum fan shroud
What Joe said. You can buy aluminum fans off Amazon for cheap. Alloy case and plastic blades. Case doesn't flex, so the fan blades never hit.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs thanks dude! 👍
My sbr 2 is all vitavon. Took a year to complete due to the cost of 1/6 scale vitavon parts. $ doubles over 10 or 1/8
I just got a blue one from vitavon

If you could find a roller that would be great. I haven't seen any rollers for sale yet, though.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs I found 1 on ebay. Don't know if it's still there though.
Just watched your video Jason it's really good nice information looks good 👍👌
Have you like and subscribe to my TH-cam channel check it out now for all my videos Jason thanks 😊
Nice thanks for sharing 😊😊😊😊
Are you thinking of upgrading the tires to Proline Badlands or Trench tires?
I don’t think so. I’ve had no issues with the stock tires.
Just ordered my chassis. Cant wait!! Are you still trouble free with it?
Yessir
Thank you for the reply! Awesome thays great news... it will be arriving here on Vancouver Island March 9!!

It's not as tough as a maxx. But a lot better handling of a truck. I am not a fan of the maxx. Tough as nails, but handles awful.
