    The floating islands look great all planted up. I like the ease of planting in them and that they can be anchored. The choice of plants is endless - I’m glad you planted them as I’d still be choosing the plants!

    hello mark, my nana has a very small preformed pond with little waterfall and a allin one filter in the bottom of the pond she has 4 gildfish but the water is very green what would be the best cheap way to get rid of the green water without a pond vac or a uv steralizer
    also she has some waterlilys when will te=hey begin to flower no sign yet
    thank you

      I would say floating plants cause they use a good amount of nutrients and can shade the pond from all the sunlight.

    Mark, thanks for the very informative video. I am in Melbourne Australia and I built my garden pond (6000 ltrs) some 34 years ago, with rocks. I have a pressurized filter with UV light and another Bog filter. Water crystal clear, never a problem. I have water lily out of pots, on the bottom of the pond, the thing is it never flowers, pond is 4 feet deep, may be that is the problem. What do you suggest?

    • @ThePondAdvisor
      @ThePondAdvisor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you can moss up waterfalls with waterfall foam. Stick it on in a splash zone and watch it grow. Give a couple a try and see which like it the best. Even the dead misses that don’t make it will have the other moss start to grow on it.

    I live in Australia and for some reason, aquatic compost is very hard to get hold of. However, when I do find it, it is very heavy once it is wet. I have a floating pot but when I use the aquatic compost it is too heavy and the pot sinks instead of floating. How can I adapt my aquatic soil to make it lighter so my floating pot will actually float once planted out?

    The potted starts you are using are root bound. Try roughing up the outer surface to encourage the roots to spread faster.
