  • Prior to his opening round at the 2023 Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods warms up on the driving range. Woods is making his first competitive start since making the cut at the Masters Tournament in April.

The PGA TOUR heads to Albany in The Bahamas for the Hero World Challenge in what is an exceptionally strong field on New Providence Island. 82-time PGA TOUR winner Tiger Woods returns for the first time since teeing it up at the Masters Tournament seven months ago. He made two TOUR starts earlier this year, finishing T45 at The Genesis Invitational before making the cut at the Masters. Woods says he is pain-free coming into the tournament after his ankle fusion in April. Viktor Hovland will also be at Albany to defend his title once again as he aims for a three-peat. The reigning FedExCup champion has not teed it up on the PGA TOUR since his triumph at East Lake Golf Club, but he played twice on the DP World Tour this fall, finishing T5 at the BMW PGA Championship and T2 at the DP World Tour Championship. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will tee it up for the first time since the Ryder Cup. Scheffler has finished second at the Hero World Challenge the last two years. Max Homa also returns to action with a run of five-straight top-10s on the PGA TOUR. He’s finished in every top-25 since missing the cut at the Travelers Championship in June. Others to look out for are Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Collin Morikawa.

The best thing to me about this is that: 1) It's pretty clear he's coming back for himself, and he still wants to compete and try to play his best golf and 2) When Tiger's back, the game is just better. He's golfing nobility. The different Prime Ministers can come and go and voice their opinion, but when the King is in the room it just elevates everything else.

Hes def ot coming back for himself. he is coming back because the PGA Tour s losing premiere players to LIV. The PGA Tour is in dire straights right now and it will need Tiger in 2024 to at least tread water. Without Tiger PGA is dead in the water thanks to Jay Monohan. Tger has prove all these is to prove in golf- he is not trying to SAVe the PGA Tour and the legacy within it...afterall he has made the PGA Tour what it has been over the last 20+ yrs. I mean we are foaming at the mouth over just watching him practice let alone play. No one else has that star power.

Your out of your mind.LIV has more talent hands down. Also the Ryder cup banned LIV players and DP WOlrd Tour players from the Ryder- so you sound silly to say that. @@harrisonbrooks6151 The PGA Tour is becoming a "should have been tour" because they are banning many of the greats- and this leaves luke warm talent that is honestly boring and requires a Tiger Woods to come back and save the ratings and Tour image.

If Tiger can swing that gently on the course, and reply on being accurate, he can win again, beautiful motion here, without putting to much stress on his body

I know this is Tiger’s tournament but come on….there are only 20 players taking part and all you show is Tiger, Thomas and Harman. Hovland has won the tournament twice in a row and is the golfer in best form at the moment and we have only seen him 3 times after 12 holes. Whats this all about? Is it that hard to show other players too? This is so annoying...
