DMC 3 has just THE best themes for the character, overall. Chef's kiss. 1 has very good themes, the instrumentals get you really pumped up. Also, the fact Public Enemy starts with this mysterious vibe and changes into an action packed, electro and guitar track is awesome, especially considering DMC was going to be a Resident Evil game at first. It's like "you think they're going to scare ya? Nah, you're scaring'em them all, now!" DMC 2 is a bad game. THE MUSIC IS AWESOME. Gotta say, the instrumentals of DMC 4's themes are pretty good, but the fact so many lines are repeated, just sped up, is pretty disappointing, IMO. Also, not even a bit of the beautiful orchestral of 3... bummer. At least they brought back Lock and Load, that's DOPE! DMC V started off with little quantity and quality. I can't STAND the original version of Subhuman, it's hot garbage. The new version though, is just INCREDIBLE, IMO. If Bury The Light boasts the power of Motivation, Subhuman boasts the power of Rage. It's so chaotic and intense it makes me want to break everything in my room, it's just such FIRE! That being said, it doesn't fit Dante at all, nor does it fit his musical identity: yeah, we had some pretty heavy rock before, but it didn't at ALL sound like this one song. The style of the guitars was different and they had a lot more electro in them: if the old themes feel intense and quick, Subhuman's guitars are too heavy in comparison. Also, the lyrics talk about inner conflict, while that's not the focus of Dante's character at all in this game.

In the past thanks to the trauma that he's got with Mundus, he always hated his demonic side, while Vergil hated his human side, but both of them now fully embrace both aspects of them, expecially Dante, so the song fits very well.
I can't resist the feeling that Dante's theme from the anime series sounds like something out of Castlevania and his themes from DMC2 sound like something out of Tekken 3. Also, too bad that this is the wrong version of his DMC5 theme. It's barely listenable before the remix...

I used to think the exact same thing until i started nailing S rank and beyond that feeling when you land a royal release, real impact, or pretty much any other time you reach S rank and you hear that "YOU CANNOT KILL MEEEE" is so goddamn motherfucking satisfying. Though I do wish that the other parts of the song sounded better,.
I think the most important thing to note about this whole ass game series is the Very First DMC is what started it all, so anything less than the original, is pretty much ass to me. Considering DMC5 has great graphics/some good music, their characters/plotline is cringe asf. I was down with bloody puppets and fighing a lord of darkness that took over your blood brother, shit cant be beat. Idgaf who says what, OG DMC1 straight kills the whole DMC1-5 collection.
