Reno is not as deserty as you might think. Reno has the Truckee River running right through the middle of it. It’s also flanked by Lake Tahoe in the south and pyramid lake in the north which surprises most transplant residents.
The east side is high desert with hills and sage brush but oddly enough west Reno is very green and Verdi even has redwood forests which no one thinks of when they think Reno.
We also get snow every year so grass and trees do grow easy if you plant them. Not like Vegas were trees die easily. If not the natural landscape is sage brush lol.
It’s very much like Denver. The low lands are the open plains located next to green mountains. The millionaires build in the mountains. The blue collar live at the base of the mountain.

I thought north of Reno was just desert. I would buy acreage out there and wait for future urban sprawl to jack up prices.
Are you looking to move? I sent my wife your video. Sell our small home in SF and look at what we could be living in. It didn't fly.😂😂

The Reno area has been invaded by Californians for a while now. There are entire cities north of Reno now that could very well get their own mayor and police departments soon if things get any more built up.

Who would want the washer/dryer next to the bedroom? I imagine you still work shifts, this wouldn’t work for me. Plus, most of the views would be obstructed when that place gets built out. Then you are stuck with another CA neighborhood with HOA Karens.

These new washer and dryer we have are crazy quiet and ours is next to one of our sons rooms. No issues. Plus my wife washes all the clothes when the kids are at school and I’m at work so no issues there either.
As for build up. I asked. This neighborhood is shaped like a snake up into a foothill surrounded by BLM land and tribal lands so nothing is building up around this area.
But hey, anything can happen right? There could be another land grab like the 1830 Indian removal act by President Jackson giving white settlers the right to push natives off their ancestral lands in the name of manifest destiny.
      Never say never.
