Great informative video, been struggling with a low draw/hook. Watched this video and changed my settings to +0.75 deg and slapped the 10g weight over to the toe. Just played 18 holes of very windy Links golf and it has made a big difference 👍

On standard setting my ball speed is 184, launch angle 12.2, 2800 spin, 138 ball height. Carry avg 314. I’m wandering if I should get fitted for a different shaft to get my spin down a little bit to get more roll out of the ball.

Just received my custom ordered stealth plus driver and 3wood. Velocore blue in driver and red in 3 wood. Why would the custom shop tip the driver shaft 1” and not the 3 wood shaft?
Hi Trottie, I remember when when we first met and you fitted me for the R7 TP Driver at the Belfry and you played in my pro-am team at Olton GC. Then when you worked for TM on the tour bus on the European Tour we met a couple of times with our joint friend Jason F. How times fly by. Another interesting video. Didn't think about moving the weight to counter the flight control sleeve. Just got my TM Stealth driver and 3-wood. When I did my fitting with my local pro he did not have any swing weights. I was wondering where to get them from as I cannot see them for sale anywhere. I would be very interested to try a heavier and lighter swing weight to see the effect.
@@trottiegolf OK. I think fitting is different here in the UK. My club pro got the premium fitting kit that offered a greater selection of shafts but no SW's. Just got fit for a Stealth HD 9 degree with Smoke Blue RDX 6S. Spin was around 2100-2200 but seemed a bit lower if a flight. Increasing the loft did kick up the spin rates more. I was swinging 101 on Trackman with a -.5 AOA. Are those spin rates too low and will getting a more positive AOA change spin rates or increase carry? Carry was showing 230 which is up for me but felt like there is more I can get out of it.
Is it correct if the sleeve is set to -.75degree i should put the track weight on sole to draw locataion to achieve the little cut? I currently have it set to - 0.75degree and in the toe…some guidance possibly?
@@trottiegolf i have it set one notch towards lower so its stock 9 degree and now its one notch down from 9 So if looking to play the little cut am where is best to place the track slider weight
As I've understood it one needs to re-aim the face to target to realize the loft change when the clubhead falls open or closed after a loft change. So it's either a face angle change or a loft change, true or false?
Very interesting. So changing loft changes lie angle? Toes it up when set at "HIGHER". So am I right to assume it toes it down flatter when setting loft to, "LOWER'? Next Q. What about shaft trueing of a shaft with a noticeable spine. To me this adjustable loft changes the spine of the shaft as you rotate it in any direction and that changes the character of the club more than the sleeve changes. I have a full set of tools to pull and epoxy in shafts and check and mark the spine. I have done on Drivers and 3 woods for years. Even irons. I know some expensive shafts have no detecrable spine and those are great for adjustable sleeves. Stock shafts and most aftermarket, or should I say, not made for, shafts have a spine. What is your opinion on those situations. I am pretty sure that you pure your shafts like you do for the pros you build clubs for. If you are just going to spin the shaft around in the head change loft and lie, do you then, pull the sleeve, put a new feral on it and glue it in with the spine aligned for the new setting? I love to watch these vids by the way. Keep them coming.
Thx for the comment. No. Every move away from std goes more up. On spinning, we don't do much of it on tour, maybe 5% & on our truck nobody locates the spine. It was certainly popular when it came out but shafts have moved on so much, as has loft adjustment that guys just don't do it that much these days
@@trottiegolf I have mixed feelings on that. I have found very noticeable spine in New upper end shafts. Most recently in a couple of Ventus w/Velocore. I have some Diamna Kali's from a while back I still use and keep because they have no detectable spine. If a shaft does have a strong side (spine) it is critical to align it. So to hear the pros don't even check or care is perplexing. Maybe they just test clubs until they find one that works. And Chances are the ones they like have the spine properly aligned or no detectable spine. And rotating the tip can get the spine close and make the club more consistent, you just have to live with the loft spin and lie angle or reset the sleeve everytime you make a change. Another thing I have favored are shafts with detectable spines as they help align the face kind of like have weight in the rear center of a club head. Kin of. but the shaft always goes to the the stiffer side when unwinding. When not in line, it wobbles. Maybe the best shafts are reserved for the pros. If not, you should be checking them.
@@greasby1golf871 You have no idea. Look up spine alignment. I have had nothing but huge improvements aligning my shafts. The good shaft companies are making their shafts so a spine can not be detected. But even they spit out some that do. I was doing this when most all shafts had very noticeable spines. And I can tell when hitting a club that it is out of alignment. It should be in alignment with the direction the club moves. Otherwise it causes a wobble. The easy way to align it is to face it towards the target at address. Or facing the same direction as the clubface. Put a weight an a laser on the end of shaft with the butt in a vice and aim it at a wall. Flex it 8inches and let go. Move the shaft in small increments and repeat. You will be amazed at what you see. It will wobble all different ways with each increment. If you let it wobble for a bit it will algn with the spine. When the spine is in alignment with the direction you are flexing it, it will draw a straight line. Trust me, it make a huge difference. There's a reason the pros all have their shafts aligned. You can buy a cheap tool to check yours. Best if done with head and grip and a clean shaft on both ends. You can run it just under the grip with the head off but not as thoroughly. It can change the impact location on the face as much as an inch and leave the face open closed and everything in-between. It can even find the center but its a crap shoot. It's the only to become a consistent ball striker unless you have a set of perfect shafts. That would be highly unlikely. You would be lucky to find on that was set in alignment. And if you did, it would be your favorite club in the set of irons. Or rescues. Or woods. Moi matching helps a lot too but not nearly as much as aligning the spine. That is wher the swing weight increases ever so much from long iron to wedges. A special SW scale is needed to set MOI. They are not cheap. There is formula that you can use to do it manually using the fulcrum of the shaft but it takes forever. Ask me how I know not being a wealthy man. But I can play some good golf. Mostly because of careful attention to my shafts. I know my misses are all me. And that teaches you. It's impossible if the shaft is causing sporadic dispersion. I need to do the set that came in my ZX7's but they are not far off and it is so much work and I have been too lazy since I bought them. I'm guessing mine have minimal spines. But I can tell they are not perfect. I think Srixon aligned them last year and that is why their clubs got such great reviews. Either that or their shafts are just far superior than the other companies stock offerings. It only takes a minute to check a new shaft and mark it. Less even after you done it several times.

The face angle is what does it for me. When I’m drawing the ball and really hitting bombs I need to crank up that loft because I deloft it at impact so much. Then sometimes I like to really carve up the fades so I turn the sleeve all the way to the low setting aim left and swipe across the ball.
