- A woman was offered a job in which she had to relocate for a bit a few hours away. She took her daughter's dog (Coco) with her because she is blind and requires extra attention. Her cat (Jasper) has always seemed to have an attachment to Coco. She thought it would be a cute idea to record her cat's reaction to being reunited with his canine buddy after about a month or so. Everyday that the dog wasn't there, Jasper would wait by the back door for her. He normally follows the dog everywhere she goes, and since she is blind, he sometimes guides her in the right direction. What an incredible bond!

Exactly. Cats are so much more subtle in showing their emotions. But they do have them, and show them in their own way. We just have to learn to read them correctly

UPDATE: Unfortunately my dog had to be put down on January 26, 2019. She was the sweetest most beautiful dog I could have asked for. She passed on her birthday at exactly 14 years old. It was very sudden and probably the worst thing I've ever witnessed. I miss her so much but I'd like to believe that shes running around like a puppy again and has her vision back 🤗 Millions of people have come across this video and I felt it was only right to update everyone. I'm just happy I have this video to remember her by forever. Go give your pets a treat tonight 🐾🐾 Rest in Peace Coco 💗💕
*For those commenting, these are my pets! My dog is in fact blind. She went blind practically overnight at 9 years old from something called SARDS. She lived in the same house since she was 10 weeks old and knows her way around perfectly. In this video, my dog was excited to be home, but normally they bond, and my dog chases the cats and lays with them. In general though, the cat is way more obsessed with my dog. He follows her everywhere.*
ok so i saw pics of sards.. I cured my dog of same disease within 1 week.
Also cured a dog with 2 years of night blindness within a week.
there was a procedure that they could have done for her, but it was super expensive and the vet said that he hasnt seen a great success rate with it.

That is so sweet how they love each other. I had a blind cat and he lived 14 years, he always walked around the house along the walls and furniture so he always knew where he was.

Cats have no understanding of people or other pets being away for long extended period of time living elsewhere. To them a long absence means the human/pet is essentially dead and they will grief, checking spots where their companion use to hang or wait at the door, etc. So when that dog came back, the cat was like: "A ghost?! No, you're alive?! You are!! OMG, I missed you so much! I LOVE YOOOOOOU!! NEVER LEAVE AGAIN!".

When my dog was in the pet hospital, my cat was sleeping in her bed waiting for her friend to come back..once my dog came home our cat Midnight would be next to her and watch her. Making sure she was okay. This reminded of that moment :) such a cute friendship

The wee cats tail shot in the air , head went high as he peaked round the settee sensing the dog was coming before the door even opened. Then followed the dog from it came into the home.

My Labrador went blind at 7 years of age! He lived for another 8 years and I gave him the best quality of life I could give him! In return he gave me so much love. I’ve had four labs in my lifetime and all were wonderful but Teddy, my blind mate, was my favourite!

my cat who is stone deaf and my dog are the very best of friends , she hated him when he was a pup but they are now 10(dog) and 12(cat) he's like her brother and protector as he knows she can't hear , she likes to snuggle up with him at night , it's cute as.

For all of you Negative Nim-Nouds.....you have more than likely never owned a cat or a dog. The cat was right by the dog's side following him everywhere. That is pretty emotional for a cat. That's one of many ways a cat shows its love toward another living being. My bet is that cat was purring loud and constant. The dog was indeed trying to get his bearings in the layout of the house, and you really couldn't see a lot of response from him. the owner of these animals needs to video the dog and cat interacting on a daily basis. Since Cats and Dogs normally despise one another, perhaps you naysayers will get a better idea of unusual affection in the animal world. In the meantime, Negative Nilly's, grow a heart. Learn to appreciate life at least a little bit. You never know, you just might find yourselves actually being.....HAPPY!!!
Your comment does make some good points, but our cats are very emotional - they just do not show it like a dog would - it's more subtle. And our dog gets along just fine with the cats. They use him for a couch, and he loves it :)

My cat grew up with the worst role model of a dog. I had a dog that was about 10 years old when I first got my cat. My Dog was old, grumpy and stubborn. She was still plenty lovable and had no problem with people, it's just that she wasn't as enthusiastic as most dogs. So my little kitten was brought home to this big ol grump and took an instant liking to her, started following her around and copying how she moved and even how she slept. Now my dog is gone but lives on in a weird sort of way through my cat. A 3 year old grumpy cat, that loves you on her own terms.

I love your video.my cat and border collie were the same.we lost our rascel (dog) to cancer just before Xmas 2016.he was 20 years old and we had him from a puppy . poppy our cat is 3 years old again we had her from a kitten.she kept looking for him for a few days but has settled down now.we miss rascel badly but he is suffering. no more. everyone love your pets you are so lucky to have them.

If you think about it, animals don't really have any worries other than surviving, and if they're a pet, they don't even have to worry about surviving either. They're simple, and small things like food and being petted make them very happy. They don't choose to hurt other animals for any reason other than survival or instinct. Humans are more complicated, which is both good and bad. We see the bigger picture, and we don't always live in the moment. Some humans are cruel for no reason, and actively choose to hurt other people because they find pleasure in having power and hurting others.
Animals are simple, which is probably why a lot of people like animals more than other humans. In comparison to humans, animals are pure and defenseless, which are traits that generally make us want to protect them.

Seems like they were raised together. Or at least one was raised around the other. I had a cat and dog who were raised together, and they acted like that. I even had a couple cats who acted like that around the rat they grew up with!

i think your dog and cat are truly "friends" and you are a good person to make sure their friendship is strong to the end. I just last month put my best friend down and her "buddy" seems lost. I cry almost everyday.

Dogs actually rely very little on sight as they have a pretty poor depth of vision compared to cats and humans- they tend to navigate mainly by smell anyway, so blindness really isn't that much of a problem for them.
Note that I said "compared to cats and humans".
Trust me, dogs use their eyesight to avoid furniture and walls. That dog is not blind, contrary to what the video title says.
@arska my dog is in fact blind. she went blind almost overnight at 9 years old. She lived in the same house since she was 10 weeks old and that is why she knows her way around well. when you go blind, your other senses get heightened.
Arska777999 I had a blind dog. When I first rescued her I put my always used perfume a dot on the corners of all furniture, a dot on each side of stair steps, a dot in center of first & last step. By the time Daffini was fully blind she knew her way around without a misstep or bumping into anything. Of course, I couldn't change the furniture around, but that didn't seem so bad.

My Dog loves our cats... he loves Cat food, Cat barf and Cat poop.... Cats are pretty much little fury vending machines that you can chase around the house... He LOVES CATS! ATM... the Dog is curled up at my feet and chewing his toy, making our house a home.... and the useless Cats are all in the basement sleeping in a pile next to the damn furnace.
Please don't let your dog eat cat food---it's WAY too high in protein and will shorten your dog's life---I've seen this happen with my in-law's dog.....it's really sad.
High meat based protein isn't actually bad for dogs according to more recent scientific research, its plant based proteins (found in cheap dogfood) that are bad. Dogs can thrive on a meat based diet and that is high protein and the same diet that cats eat.
Valerie Whitt Relax... I can see humor is a lose on you. A little cat food here and there is not an issue for a dog, or an emu, or a whale... or YOU! Plus he is a brittany (read super high energy upland hunting dog)... a little extra protein will do him no harm. Trust me, the dead squirrels he pulls out of the woods are far more likely to cause issues. I treated myself to a home made bacon cheeseburger today... not an issue... but if they were 100% of my diet everyday for years, it would probably effect my health... that doesnt mean no one should eat bacon cheeseburgers.

Cats and dogs have different personalities. Once they establish boundaries they get along. The number one rule is that the cats stay away when food is involved. The dog owns all food. Other than that she accepts attention from the cats sparingly. The cats understand a growl or lip curl when the dog has had enough. I don't think the dog appreciates all the rodents the cats give her. For the cat they are play things but for the dog it's an instakill!

Also animals in general I think believe once someone is gone for any significant amount of time that means they're dead and gone for good, which is why they always seem so surprised when someone they care about suddenly comes back!
