Puerto Rican pasteles pork filling

  • This delicious filling can be used for stuffing pasteles as well as alcapurrias.
    Recipe
    1/2 cup oil
    9-10# cut into cubes pork shoulder
    1/4 cup minced garlic
    1/8 cup garlic powder
    1/8 cup adobo
    1/8 chicken bouillon (powder)
    2 cups minced onion
    1 1/2 cup fresh sofrito
    1 cup schoolteacher oil (annatto seeds oil)
    1 cup minced red pimiento
    1 sleeve of Goya pork flavor
    3 sleeves of Goya Sazon (con cilantro & achiote)
    1 cup water
    Optional ingredients
    1 cup sliced green olives (optional)
    1 cup garbanzo beans
    Prep time approx: 20 mins
    Cook time approx: 20 mins
    Total time: 35-40 mins
    Drain juices into a separate container and save for pasteles masa.
