Great update Dave, I am extremely impressed with mine. I’m running mine on 7200 litres and have removed the UV just to see what happens. Currently crystal and has been for a couple of months 👍
That's great and interesting. An I assume you're happy with the fish etc? I'm only not running mine as I don't want the air on during cold spell really.
Yes Dave I spoke with Cesca at length before the install and I have copied her idea of placing my air stones in perforated 3 inch pipe on the pond wall so the fish don’t swim directly through the air stream. Water looks fantastic no fish health issues. ORP meter not great so I’m about to try and resolve that in getting something a little more reliable 👍
Same as yourself, wondering if a lot of these gadgets are needed? Trying to go the more eco run pond and let it find its own balance with the filters and water over constantly trying to change it with remedies and gadgets. Have found the koi are more natural in their behaviour and feeding much better without over doing things. Same with the grow on,smaller water changes more often and regular filter maintenance seem to pay off so far. Have had loads of gadgets and most are sitting idle now. Just food for thought. Good update and helpful for those with clarity issues.
Yeah I think beyond a proper bio filter everything else is about control and time frames . A modesty stocked pond on maintenence feed probably really doesn't need much else. That said I will be using an ozone for everything I do in relation to growing on, the help in keeping the water stable is really beneficial
@@OrchardKoi I get what it does and how it works, yet I have steered towards less koi in the grow in with the emphasis on filtration and feeding, along with small water changes 2-3 a week and haven't had any issues. Think stocking density plays a huge role and what the filter is capable of dealing with and same as yourself, heated. Still enjoy and get your point. I just like having less over more👍
Hi, great vid again you said that you had a problem with a ORP meter, not getting the same readings. Well I'm having the same prob's, I can't remember which one I bought but it was about £35 ish. thinking it would a good one. So at a loss at the mo do I spend a small fortune on one ie £200 + or go for another cheaper one. Did you sort your one out? 👍
Cheers dude. Yeah mine was £19 I think of ebay a cheap Chinese one. The one I've gone for was around £80 managed to get it for £50. Let me have a play with this one and I'll let you know what it's like. One thing I will say is I don't think we need to worry too much because of the dose of ozone being produced. It's interesting to know tho. Cheers for watching and commenting 😊👍
Mines fine , but I'm using the rubber diffuser from eco filtration . Stones we've used on my dads ones just appear cleaner , no apparent extra deterioration. Stones wear out over time anyway 👍😊
Hi there. So I aim for anywhere inbetween + 100 and +300 . This where the main things required to maintain a well running system happen. In my part 2 video I go over ORP and where different things are achieved . Hope that helps th-cam.com/video/kMhNaLOmrwY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=W90pyYOP-YrJmJ8c

@user-oi2qi5vo1r yeah stocking is the big factor. Plus I'm not blessed with water capacity 🤣

Thanks for the vid. Is the air stone ok? I have a unit but was worried it will burn through a 'normal' air stone or air bar.

Try putting some pipe insulation around the edge.
Yeah good shout actually. Cheers 😊
How much orp level you maintain?
