When you charge the battery up to 100% you put more strain on the battery. And that’s exactly what optimized charging does. The iPhone will charges until 80% until the last hour, when you supposed to use your phone. That’s why.

Just a tip you charge only upto 80% dont go full 100% and only charge if you are around 30% dont go below 20% to maximize your battery life. hope this help
