It was so great to get to know Sabaton through Tommy Johansson. I think I've been almost forgetting the metal music for a long time, but it still existed where it's gotta to be. It was also a natural thing that "Shiroyama" was introduced here after "The last stand". Thanks ☺
Late comment here but Sabaton, or the singer Joakim Brodén have collabed with japanese Kawaii Metal band BABYMETAL on the song Oh Majinai! Sabaton also featered BABYMETAL at their "The Tour To End All Tours" trough UK+EU. I saw them in Stockholm and it was great. 🤘😊

Most of the band members are not religious. But since they are Swedish they are culturally Christian. ;) The song is about the sacking of Rome in 1527 and the Swiss guard which sacrificed their lives to protect the pope.
The Swiss Guard are still in service and the requirements to join are very strict. New recruits must be unmarried Roman Catholic males with Swiss citizenship, between 19 and 30 years of age, and at least 1.74 metres tall; they must have a professional diploma or high school degree and must complete basic training with the Swiss military.

Columns of thick, black smoke rose above the city. Ash and rubble churned violently in the air as ancient walls gave way to cannons.
Not really a Christian band but they try to justice to the beliefs of the subjects of most their songs. This song certainly is Christian in context. Great song even though as a Protestant my side was the ones these guys were fending off. Its really a story of inward strife over the future of the Church. I wish theyd do a song from the Protestant perspective.

Sabaton have a few songs that are about religious parts of war history, yes but it is far from the only thing they sing about.
