This video is about The Spa Guy showing you inside of Mid-South Coliseum where Elvis played many times... Dick Grob & Dean Nichopoulos tell stories of their time here with Elvis as we tour a place that has been closed for more than 12 years.. Don't forget to subscribe..
That was a great story Dick Grob told . I've never heard of that either . Vernon was right though .... I would've done the same thing . Bring my son home . He made the right choice in my opinion . Now Dick Grob has my curiosity up !! I want to see those films he took away from the fans !! Thank you Spa Guy for sharing another great video .
You can still see the pain of the loss of Elvis in Dick & Dean's eyes so sad. Thanks Billy
I was there in that coliseum for one of his concerts. It was Great!
It's a great privilege to see everything you do Billy! I'm so honored to call you my friend TCB ⚡
Another classic really Billy.trey. And such beautiful stories/memories but in turn so hard I’m sure reliving walking inside here.painful I’m sure for Dean,Dick but we so appreciate all this. I personally thing Graceland was the right choice for the viewing. Elvis loved his home didn’t he.thank you so much guys. 🇬🇧 Uk 🌹👩🏼🌹
Dick and Dean really brought it to life with their stories. Thanks for sharing guys.
Interesting stories from people who were there. A good part 2. Thank you Spa Guy and friends.
Vernon, I won't to bring him home. Nothing more to say. Thanks spa guy.
Right. Nothing more to say. 😢☺️♥️
The memories comes to Dick Grob and Dean Nichopoulos this day in Coliseum .
Would be kinda cool if that was reopened and then have some elvis events there.....Spa guy ur work is incredible
Great again, Thanks everyone. BTB E G.
Awesome! Thank you so much for these videos Billy! Love hearing the stories from Dick Grob and Dean Nichopoulos. Can't wait for part three.
Billy you are getting brilliant things peices of history that would be lost forever if you didn't think to record it. Very very interesting facts that any Elvis fan would be excited to see and hear. Thanks brother. Looking forward to the next one. Loving it.
Great stuff right here!!! Outstanding work and what a treasure having two of Elvis's crew members reliving their memories of working his concerts at Mid South. You knocked another one out of the park!!
Couldn't wait to watch this when I got the notification of pt 2! Wow, some big reveals in this video Spa Guy & team..taking Dick & Dean to this place has clearly unlocked new stories & memories. Fantastic! Regards Mike, UK.
Really enjoy hearing all the different stories. Great job Spa Guy, Ashley Drew, Dick, Dean and whoever else that helped out and made this possible. Thank you guys

Joseph from N.J....
I really enjoyed this this was fabulous I hope and pray that we can save the Colosseum it has a lot of history. I enjoyed so much of all the questions you asked and all the replies it just warms my heart when I hear things like this and find out about the stage and everything is just wonderful. I am so happy that I lived long enough to get to see the history the truth and meet all of you wonderful people love all of you God bless all of you sending prayers love hugs always and blessings
This venue has got to be saved. It`s about one of the few places where both Elvis and Beatles performed at the very same venue, and that is more than enough reason not to tear it down.
There are only 12 venues left in the world that have hosted both Elvis and the Beatles. The Mid South Coliseum is the only one of those that is closed to the public.
The Coliseum has been “saved” for the time being. Thanks to the hard work of the Coliseum Coalition. However, it remains closed and offline for the foreseeable future.
@@Stereobrainagain They should all be saved for that reason. America is the ONLY country in the world besides Canada to ever have been visited by both the Beatles and Elvis, and they should for the sake of history take good care of the venues that the both played at. They are historical venues. The Beatles invented stadiums shows, and Elvis invented big arena shows. That`s why it matters when their paths crossed.. The almost never played the same venues. The Beatles played Dodger Stadium, and Shea Stadium, and Elvis played Madison Square Gardens and other big arenas that the Beatles never played. The Beatles and Elvis are the two biggest acts in the history of show business, and Memphis should think about that before they demolish Mid-South coliseum. I have to add. Thank god that Vernon stopped the viewing of Elvis body in the mid south coliseum. That would have been so wrong..
Awesome Billy thank you another good video Billy
Thank you Spa Guy, Ashley and Trey. You guys knocked it out of the park again. ❤
I love it can't wait for more videos I won't ever get tired of them your a great at what you do Mr.Spa Guy
Talking about the hawkers selling Elvis souvenirs brings back memories of them when I attended Elvis shows in 1976. And of course I went down and bought my fare share. Photos, pennants and buttons. The hawkers in the Elvis In Concert special was how it was. Thanks for the video Billy. Oh yeah, and Dick and Dean. We need to see some of that footage Dick has. As for Elvis and sound on tour, remember in Elvis On Tour when he got into the limo, first thing out of his mouth was “how was the sound in that building”. Always concerned about sound quality.
Love this series Billy, thank you.
Another super awesome video I would love to be there and feel Elvis in the building, thank you again your awesome!! TCB always
I actually have 2 unused tickets for August 27, 1977 for Elvis in concert at the Midsouth Colliseum in Memphis, Tn. That show was supposed to be the last stop on the tour that never took place.
Wow! ...
Mike Bryant ...wow! I couldn’t help but cry when I read your comment. ♥️ I know you must have been terribly 😢 sad.
@@pambb5743 I turned 10 years old the day before he pasted away. I have the tickets in a frame, hanging on our bedroom wall.
Mike Bryant ...You hang on to them Mike. Of course, it wouldn’t hurt to see what they are worth. 😁It may surprise you ! I still have all five of my tickets stubs too, but mine are punched or ripped, from concerts I went to. Amazing memories. I was 20 when he died so I had a few more years to get to see him. ( it’s amazing how all us Elvis Fans, feel like one big family. The best bunch of folks you’ll ever meet.) God Bless you and Yours Mike❤️
@@pambb5743 Mine are in a frame and still look like the day they were purchased. The original cost was $15 each. And to top it off, still have the original money order carbon copy that was used to purchase them on July 26, 1977, in the frame as well. Not sure about value today, but I have seen used ones that are torn on Ebay for like $100-$200 asking price. But mine are not gonna be sold ever. Not as long as I am alive for sure. They are worth more to me just like they are than the little $$$ I might could get for them.
I can’t wait for part 3. How exciting are these videos!!
Elvis the king!!
Another interesting video! Missing Elvis! Thank you Spa Guy! God bless you!
Awesome footage priceless memories
Great video!! Interesting stories from people who were there.. Poor Vernon when Elvis passed away would have been so brokenhearted😢💔They Loved each other So Much❤️Thank you Billy,Ashley Drew,Trey,Dick,Dean and all involved😊Tighten up and God Bless❤️
Its so great to see. Its kinda sad to see all the memories that lives in that place, and to see them talk about the good ole days just wishes Elvis was still here, but it I guess God had other plans. At least we know he loved the Lord, and know that hes in the right place. Many entertainers are not. God definitely blessed Elvis with a gift that no one else will ever be able to duplicate. Glad we still have his music, and these stories now that we can share and pass on. Thanks for all you do Spa Guy...
Hats off To you Billy For posting This and Especially Dick & Dean without them we would have never knew all of this thanks 🙏
This is pure history to say the least! You do amazing work my friend. I really enjoyed this one!!
Wow great stories ...I love hearing the the original guys talk about their memories of Elvis
Thanks Billy for the great videos and Dick and Dean thank you your memories are so precious to us all God bless you All and God bless Elvis Always ♥️
Elvis for ever
Tks buddy for your hard work. So enjoyable.
Thank you so much for your videos I love them ❤️
Awesome stuff as usual Billy thank you
Hi Billy 😊 Enjoyed video today thanks for sharing, and thanks to Dick, and Dean, for sharing their memories! It still rings true, oh how we wish Elvis was still with us, if only he was here sharing all his memories, Wow can you imagine what he'd be saying? Your friend Bonnie Smiles 😀
Great video series... I loved watching it - great info... Thank you Billy...
AWESOMELY COOL SPA ROCK ON!
The ending of this footage is surreal. Actually, almost eerie as Elvis would have never in his wildest dreams envisioned a time that two of his crew/friends would be reliving these memories, in this stadium, 42yrs. later. Almost doesn't seem possible. Time is a funny thing.
I agree multiple cameras add a whole lot more. Great video
Brilliant Spa Guy...amazing stories I have not heard before @
This was phenomenal my friend Spa Guy. Thanks very much to the guys for sharing their experiences and telling us more about Elvis. I will never get tired of listening to Elvis stories. One question “ Why don’t you take Billy Smith with you on these adventures. He was the closest to Elvis and I am sure if would love to share some wonderful Elvis memories” Thanks. Great job my friend.
.be nice to see some of that footage from Dick-Just a sneaky peak 😁 Great video SpaGuy.....
I miss Dick Grob! May he rest in peace!
What a great interview you guys got from this
Thank You I thought it turned out Great.. Sadly Dick Grob has passed since then..
The must save mid-south colliseum. It's a historical building and it is beautiful. So keep it Memphis
Love hearing these guys stories. So lucky to have been there. Man! If you could have 5 minutes with Elvis to ask one question of him, right now, what would you ask him?
I will have to think on that..
@@SpaGuy I know. It's hard. I think I'd ask him if he sees how much his fans still love him. He was so worried about being forgotten.
To hear those two guys tell the stories in that building is really good stuff Billy. Very cool. Great work👍🏻😎
I spent a lot of time at the Mid South Coliseum and, I guess, I could be considered a “Coliseum Rat.” I knew many of the ushers and there was one who we called “Eagle Eye” because he would catch you if you were misbehaving or sneaking into ring side seats. Frankly, he also kept us safe and made us behave and we became friends. I saw Led Zepplin, the Stones and Bruce Springsteen among so many others, as well as Memphis State basketball games and other events. I saw TWO Elvis shows and the one I saw in 1974 was the one they recorded. The second show I saw we sat behind him above the “clock.” Remembering it still takes my breath away.
Another excellent part of the Elvis puzzle. I can’t wait for part 3!
Spa Guy, did you ever get to see Elvis in concert? My mom and dad got to see him in concert at a venue close to us in 1976. I was only 7 years old, so they didn’t take me😭
I didn't I was only 12..
Keep them coming Spa Guy !! I am hooked :) Thanks for the videos!
Great stories from great people thanks spa guy
so cool billy..thx
Billy, I have two questions:
1:Didnt Elvis play
for many years before he ever started using an on Stage........... "Monitor System? to hear himself???
2: I know Elvis was WELL guarded to & from his shows, but I wondered if any of the guys that were there, recall Elvis having to get tuff with an over aggressive Fan?
Im sure he had no problem defending himself, but someone that might have tried to grab or hold on to him. :) Thanks brother!
To God the Father all the GLORY and to Elvis all the earthly fame.
SO Busted Spa Guy!!!!!
I started this video,....and went to the kitchen for the 1st cup of coffee.
The wife caught me dancing to........... your Intro -Music....LOL
She said,
"Shake it baby shake it, but dont break it,
Cause Walmart DONT make it!!!" :)
Spa Guy amo tudo que se diz a respeito do Elvis, você sempre fazendo um belo trabalho, parabéns, sou fã demais de você 👍👍👍
Assistir a um show seu, foi o maior sonho que sonhei.
The wonder of you.
Thankyou spa guy
A man as a Memphian I am proud what you are doing keep it up good luck that place being back so many memories. I hated to see that go i last thing Jeff Jarrett who used to own tna wrestling try to buy it to tna wrestling show to memphis thy wouldn’t let him buy so more the show to Nashville
LOL "The Pregnant Pancake" and "Some Pretty Good Stars" LOL I so hope that they let some of those fans record a bunch and then took the film. Would that not be AMAZING!!! Funny that nobody realized that they just needed to cover the red light and probably would never have been caught. Thanks Spa Guy, Mr Grob and Mr. Dean too. God Bless Yall, sending Much LOVE and THANKS for sharing your memories. Also, to help save the pregnant pancake.
I read somewhere that Dick Grob was a liar and a mean man. but I have seen him a few times in an interview and now again, I think he is a friendly and sincere person. I look forward to part 3. thank you billy!
What you are seeing in these videos is Dick Grob the real person.. When you hear someone saying there is a group of people always telling lies on them I would be suspicious of that person.. Just a little insight.. Thank You for saying that!!
E o Elvis foi o nosso amor mais lindo. Nunca mais encontramos outro que se aproximasse da magia e encanto que advinham de seu ser.
I love you forever Elvis Presley ☆.
My heart cries for you.
Brasil.
These are so great
I’m glad they didn’t have Elvis’ viewing at the Coliseum, Graceland was a better choice. Although, I really don’t know if Elvis would have liked being viewed like that by the fans.
Great video!!! Will we discover more about Grob's film and photo stash in part #3 ?!?! Stay tuned!!!
In 74 ,we did and prolly half the Coliseum followed him back to graceland and they drove up beside the church. At least we thought we did. Lol
Dick & Dean keep the faith.
Ya just have a talk daily with The Man ( God ) & He will bring yous up to those heavenly gates.
Elvis is up there saying "I want my boys & my fans up here for a reunion."
Elvis is alive alright. In our hearts memories but also in heaven.
Super to know the stage is there & same clock vents on the wall......like it all happened yesterday.
Enjoyable history & stories.
I can see Vernon idea. He was grieving like a loving papa. Graceland was home & comfort.
But for more of a crowd to see a Elvis viewing...the coliseum would of been perfect.
Elvis in concert, August 16th 1997, section V-N, row 15, seat 2 😊😊
Great video! So Dick said he has some 8mm film that he got developed, do you know if he’s ever shared the footage or has any plans to??
Watching in 2020
There's a bit in poke salad annie in that's the way it is when he thinks they played a wrong cord and he pulls them up on it then says no ur right, he was such an entertainer thanks Billy appreciate your efforts
Funeral plans was great info.
It's like the Astrodome, here in Houston, Texas... they wanna save it, but don't know what to do with it. It's been ongoing ideas here for 15+ years. I'm not sure what the current idea is for it.
Really hope they will save the Astrodome--my husband and I saw Elvis twice there in '71 or '73, I think....also saw the Houston rodeo there 2 or 3 times.
I saw two Elvis concerts there in '71 and '73 I think
Hi, cool
Michael Jackson wore tape on his fingers to draw the eyes while dancing. Same reason he wore the white socks.
I love Elvis history! ❤️
Really teriffic what you do sir on your channel. Tanks kindly from California. On another note wondering about the book "safe and sound" Mr. Grob mentioned writing (about his time working for and with Mr. Presley) a few months back . ? Any info on this would be appreciated. GOD Bless you and yours spa guy 👍☑️
Yes the book can be purchased at www.elvispawnshop.com
They’re are some footage out there because you can find them on TH-cam.
Hello from England
At 12.20 into this video there is Dick, who when this video was made did not look too good and another part of the Elvis history no longer with us having passed away April 2020 and Dean looks so like his Dad.
I pick out what Dick said in reply to what you asked which was what was it like in this room right here? Got any thoughts on it and Dick replies : IT WAS FULL OF PEOPLE and to me that's what it was all about and it makes me sad in a funny sort of way.
This huge concert venue was buzzing but different times, different people and when i have over the years watched stuff from the 60's and the 70's on TV in UK there were bands and you know who they were that would tour all over the place.
Who can do that now - The Rolling Stones and The Who perhaps but do the young people (18-say 30 age range) want that now?
Adoro esse canal. .
Mas não entendo nada!
Alguém aí traduz?
Sei que diz respeito a Elvis. .
Mas em que circunstâncias?
Jânia, creio que estão mostrando esse grande Coliseu onde, com certeza, a ☆ brilhou muito em um grandioso evento. Vamos esperar para ver a terceira e última parte. Se mostrarão algum trechinho desse show.
Fique com Deus.
Now we need to see those 8 mm films.
Yep we do..
I think you said EPE wants a concert venue or gathering place for fans...what better place? Renovate it nice and dont change the bones, I think that is important...I would go see shows there for sure....
I knew why he did that about his rings. Spa Guy
Billy, why didn't they keep up the colosseum? Do more sbows there? Do they have another new facility for concerts?
ADA Laws the building no longer passed the laws..
With all due respect to the individuals who participated in this video.....I just need the Spa Guys account of what who where and any other bits of information
What's going to happen to the Mid South Coliseum, is it going to be torn down?
This is the house Jerry Lawler built !!!
Those unused tickets are worth THOUSANDS! !!!!!
Spa guy. Dick has live concert film of that show and others. He hasn’t produced it 42 years later. I doubt it He once said Elvis was riddled with bone cancer remember. I like him but lets keep it straight. But who knows. He was there. I wasn’t. Love the info. Only my opinion my man.
I have never heard Dick say the cancer thing it was Charlie Hodge that I heard say it.
Charlie Hodge said it, met Charlie a few times when he came over to the UK but never mentioned it in his talks to the fans. But has we all know it was all made up anyway
Bone cancer????
Don't know why Charlie said it, because no Doctor ever Said it. And nobody at Elvis Autopsy said he had it. All I can say it's a strange thing to say, we'll probably never know
Sadly the only original guys left is Jerry Shilling and Billy Smith of the original MM. Sam came in the last couple years and he and Dick were great friends. Glad Sam is still around.
There are others.. Al Strada, Dean Nichopolous, David Stanley and there are others..
HELLO Spa
Merssi
HELLO ELVIS My
DIAMANT
I believe more of what Dean says, others make up their own stories
Just too bad that Red,Sonny,Or Joe Esposito couldent be there with ya as well,And of course Elvis
I wonder if Led Zeppelin ever played there?
Michael did it to cover his fingernails bc he had that skin disease and his finger nails were discolored.
I think he did it to copy Elvis..
Awesome video! Hey spa guy any way to get in touch with Dick Grob for an autographed pic?
Try Jon Daly www.elvispawnshop.com He offer his books so he may have autographed pics too..
