Awesome! Such a fun day, thanks to all who organised it, allowed us to ride their old bikes and captured the memories on film 💜

What a brilliant event TN and how kind of the owners for the use of their bikes. Over sixty years ago my late father set off to the village of Comrie to buy me a Corgie paratrooper bike a chap supposedly had two for sale but he came home empty handed and I was a very disappointed 8yr old😭

Hi Old Fella, great to hear that you enjoyed the video.
Wouldn’t it have been a coincidence? If the corgi paratrooper bike in the video, was the one that you could have owned. It definitely looks like a bike that an eight-year-old would have a lot of fun on 👍🤣

A glance into bygone days in a more sedate world Sometimes

Bikes have definitely improved and progressed over the years, I’m not so sure whose bikes were sedate. They were fun, but also hard work riding them, mainly due to the vital controls being completely different to what I’m used to.
Hope you enjoyed the video 👍

Cracking event Ian, sorry I couldn't make it to that. It would have been so much fun to watch. I'd be terrified I drop one😂 😂

Hi Donna, great to hear that you enjoyed the video, you certainly would’ve loved watching the event. It was great to ride some amazing bikes that normally would you never have the opportunity to do. Hopefully they will repeat the event next year where you could get the chance to either ride or just watch.
      Ride safe 👍

Another excellent video Ian, thanks. What a great event. You certainly had to have your wits about when riding some of those Vintage beauties. No fancy traction control or ABS etc. Ha Ha.
A while back (pre Covid), my old neighbour bought an LE Velocette as an oily rag project after I bought my 1968 Bantam (which I have never got round to finishing and will be selling soon). He ended up selling it soon after buying it and returned to fixing up older cars.
Was that the same Ner-A-Car that was at the Wee Smokie earlier this year? I think they are just fantastic looking machines, just love it.
Thanks VMCC for setting this up. What a great idea. 👏
Looking forward to your next exploit. Ride safe.

Hi Ricky, great to hear you enjoyed the video, definitely something different for me. Riding some of these bikes was definitely challenging, all your natural riding instincts just don’t seem to work, the bikes play with your brain 😂
Yes, it was the same Ner-A-Car that was at the wee Smokey . There’s a new six part series of videos starting on Tuesday, hope you’re also enjoy them 😁👍

Bet you would like to get that Brough on the open road eh, Watched a bit of footage years ago of someone riding a Ner a car and he remarked he couldn't believe how easy it was to ride & how stable it felt. Nice video thanks.

I’d be far too nervous to ride the Brough, far too valuable a machine for an inexperienced classic bike rider like me.
Yes, the Ner-A-Car is an amazing machine, watching some riders flowing through the corners on it showed just how well it handles.
Great to hear that you enjoyed my video 👍

Hi Ian what a great opportunity and experience. I am fascinated by vintage bikes and their basic pure functionality over ascetics, which makes them beautiful in their own way. Coming up with simple solutions for a gear change or throttle and just running with it makes me think of them as the original shed built custom bikes, which many of them were. I have just come back from a little trip to Nantes in France where I visited ,Les Machines de l'Île, located on the banks of the Loire opposite the Jules Verne museum where most of the bikes would not look out of place. A place I can highly recommend if you fancy a little trip to France. Check it out on TH-cam. Thanks for producing this video I will keep an eye our to see if there's anything like this offered near me.

Hi FWM, Great to hear that you enjoyed the video, especially as you have a vested interest in classic bikes. It was definitely a great experience for me as I mainly ride modern bikes. The different riding techniques and controls of these vintage bikes, definitely challenges your brain.
      I had a great day 😁👍
