It's so hilariously perfect. It's the most comically disturbing thing you could say about there being a bunch of visible blood on you, but it also makes complete sense to say defensively and instinctually when you're flustered in that situation.
I love how Lily just constantly surprises me by being so awesome. She was so quiet in the beginning and now she's one ofmy fav people to interact with Josh, wickedly funny, amazing at telling story and lowkey the dirtiest mind in the kitchen lmao. She's so effortlessly badass.
Lily looked like she had to think about how to respond though… and then immediately said no when Josh clarified. Then she brought up the bodily fluid thing again, “maybe I do.” 😂
Lily’s story was golden and very well told, props gf. The advice to prep your chops/ingredients was also good, I have success with that strategy and also have ADHD.
Also have ADHD and prepping everything first like Lily said works well for me too. Also try to sort of clean as I go, like at least try to somewhat neatly stack dishes in the sink just so it doesn’t feel like so much chaos.

Also, use the ADHD management techniques you use in other situations, tick the steps off on a piece of paper, and set a timer to go off every 5-10 min to check in on what you're doing (i.e. getting distracted and letting something burn, or skipping steps). This is how I survive my combo of ADD and a passion for cooking lol

honest ADHD cooking advice: watching josh cook made me realize that messing up is going to happen. uncooked vegetables won't kill you most of the time (look for the ones that will, and just don't use those). pay attention to your meats. and then just wing it. I cut vegetables in order of how long they need to stay in the pan, I use 2 pans max. I do everything by taste, you'll get the hang of it
Second date. Guy says watching a movie, no funny stuff. Me: 26 and wary but okay. Of course within 10 min it becomes netflix and chill 🙄. Later he wants food. He’s doing keto and says he’ll just take us to McDonald’s and he can get a double quarter pounder without the bun. Get in his car and drive off, then he says oh crap, this car doesn’t have a working driver’s window we’ll have to go back and you drive. Okay no prob whatever. Get in my car and go to the drive through. He says oh, I left my wallet at my friend’s house because he had to drive me home due to being too high to drive because I was anxious to see you again. Oooookay….. i pay, wasn’t a problem. On the drive home he tells me he has fallen in love with me, that he was offered a job in Ireland (we lived in western WA) and I was going to be moving with him, no questions asked. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no? Other things happened during the “chill” part that already were red flags to me so I was already not feeling it but to drop that on me and tell me I WAS leaving the country with this guy I’d only been on 2 dates with? No. We ate and I went home and told him it wouldn’t work out. 🥲🥲
"It's not my blood" is always a great sentence. Especially on a second date.
