Taktlos-Kuratorin und Pianistin Vera Kappeler ist eine Suchende, die sich immer wieder Erfahrungen aussetzt, die sie «bei null beginnen» lassen. Eröffnen wird sie das Festival mit einem Konzert am Clavichord. Was dieses historische Tasteninstrument für Kappeler ausmacht: seine Begrenztheit. Es ist leise, sein Tonumfang ist gering, die Spielerin ist den Tasten und der gesamten Anschlagsmechanik körperlich nahe und kann an jeder Stelle des Schwingungsprozesses eingreifen; und sie stimmt das Instrument selbst vor ihrem Spiel. Auch muss sie völlig neue Spielweisen finden. Zwischen Improvisation und traditionellen Motiven aus Blues und Volksmusik wird das Instrument neu erstehen und von Martin Hofstetter elektronisch verstärkt und verarbeitet.

"Taktlos" curator and pianist Vera Kappeler is a seeker who repeatedly exposes herself to experiences that make her "start from scratch." She will open the festival with a concert on the clavichord. What characterizes this historical keyboard instrument for Kappeler: its limitations. It is quiet, its range is limited, the player is physically close to the keys and the entire strike mechanism, and can intervene at any point in the vibration process; and she tunes the instrument herself before playing. She also has to find completely new ways of playing. Between improvisation and traditional motifs from blues and folk music, the instrument will be newly revived and electronically amplified and processed by Martin Hofstetter.
