A lot of people don't care for/about Gordy, but I really like his character design. He just seems like a confident and energetic guy who's kind of a manchild, but also a genuine sweetheart. Like a 'Jack Black' sorta character.

Gotta admit, I love how not only Kabu's eyes flash with flames (and his eyes are normally grey so it makes it even more awesome), but he jumps a little bit and just shows how pumped up (and short) he really is-

Animations, from what I observe.
Milo: Pats Pokeball before overhand throwing it
Nessa: holds it for a bit before underhanding it
Kabu: holds it for a bit & closes eyes, opens eyes w/ fire effect in them and overhanding it
Bea, Allister and Oleana: Holds it close for a bit before underhanding it, slight differences for each of them.
Opal: Struggles to carry the ball, turns and underhand throws it w/ both hands
Gordie: [with flamboyance] Holds ball behind him w/ one hand as the other adjusts his glasses like and anime protag before following through with an underhand throw
Melony: Snuggles ball before overhanding it
Raihan: Brings ball to shoulder for a selfie before quickly overhanding it
Marnie and Rose: Turns around and overhand throws it w/ both hands Almost no difference beside a slight speed difference
Hop: spins and throws w/ a stumble @ the end
Bede: holds it to his side before throwing it underhand w/ a slight follow through @ the end
Leon: Tosses in hand before turning and overhanding

Bea: Takes a moment to hold tightly to the Ball before readjusting her serious attitude and sending it off. Her Pokémon are the only ones who know her true feelings, after all.
Allister: His body language can be interpreted as him giving a sorrowful goodbye
Opal: Being at an old age, the ball is too heavy and she almost falls over. It's comedic and fitting for her.
Gordie: Smug as he adjusts his shades and grips the ball with one hand. He makes a cool and elegant pose after he throws the ball. Showing off is what he loves to do for his fans, after all.
Melony: A show of motherly love towards the Pokémon in the ball before energetically sending the ball off.
Raihan: Has to take a selfie for the fans and show off his greatness before wildly throwing the ball.
Marnie: A somewhat mild-mannered and bored toss since she's not able to express herself well. You can see a lack of confidence or reassurance after she throws the ball (Team Yell is there to provide her those things after all).
Hop: Confidently tries to do a show-offish spinning throw. He almost stumbles launching the ball, however. This summarizes his character pretty well.
Oleana: She almost DROPS the ball. This is the careless nature she tries to hide for the sake of supporting Chairman Rose.
Bede: An elegant and refined toss, befitting of the Fairy-Type Gym Leader. It also stands out from Opal almost falling over.
Rose: Very confident in what he's about to do until he notices how heavy the ball is. He hasn't battled in a long time as you can see.
Leon: Has a serious expression and body language that turns into a confident, fun one. Leon said himself pushing past the pressure for the sake of having fun is his drive as Champion after all.

Love how some of them chuck it with enthusiasm, others go YEEEEEET!, and some of them like Opal and Bede toss it up there with style. Amazing how characterization is shown in this game. It’s demonstrated in simple things like just throwing a Pokeball. Really enjoyed seeing NPCs actually change over time as I played through the story.
