WOW - ambitious plans. More than I could do in 5 weeks and I am retired 😂😂. So good to have you back. You obviously have the knack when it comes to buying stretch fabrics- I learn from you. Happy sewing 😊. Lynne
Thank you so much! I really enjoy a challenge and am close to completing 2 items and one of them being the spider shirt! It is great to be pack and involved in both sewing and engaging with you lovely people!
I just bought some stretch denim to make the Atenas jacket. What a coincidence. So far I habe made the Stacie Jeans jacket from StyleArc. A nice pattern for a start, but it has no pockets. So my next step is the Atenas. Funny, that you also prefer a little bit of stretch with that. All the best with yours. I am happy that you are back on YT and I hope that the rest of this year goes upward for you.
How funny! I must tell me how it is going! I am just finishing the spider oversized shirt and will hopefully record a video a little later. I think I will go for a few easier makes and then after start on the jacket given it is more involved and a longer make as well. Thank you so much for your comment. I feel so much more positive about the future by diving back into this community!
Nice to see you are back, it has been awhile since I last saw a post from you! I hope your absence was not do a tragic situation. I am looking forward to seeing your makes. Take care!
Thank you for your message, the past 9 months has been filled with some ups and many downs but life carries on and I so missed being a part of this lovely community! Thank you for your message and for watching!
I am inspired by your plans! Now i want to finish up the 2 summer projects that just need hemming and dive into fall sewing. And your plans with the spider fabric are perfect!
Thank you so much for your lovely message, I am having fun getting on with these plans and should have some things to show in my Friday Sews video I hope to record later today!
Love all your fabrics; wow, what a lot to make in a short amount of time! What fun! (The fabric you called fused is, I believe, called scuba knit). Glad to see you back🎉
Ahhh scuba knit - I think that could be it. I am hoping to be able to get through all the plans - with the weather changing I feel so inspired to get these new things made up!
I believe you can do it! I timed myself making 2 pair of knit pants this afternoon. From cutting out to final hem took 2 hours and 47 minutes. It was a familiar pattern, but still very quick. You got this!!
WOW Inspirational! Amazing set of plans and fabrics... but I am on of those that has to shut her eyes every time a certain fabric comes up😄 Gives me the shivers!
Love! Your plans videos are always epic and I love them! So many fun things! I’ve made the simplicity pants and they’re really great. I’ve also made the Atenas Jacket a few times and it’s such a great pattern. I2S always have awesome instructions and the welt pockets are so clearly written and explained. You’ll have fun! Just check arm length…mine came up a bit shorter than I prefer and I have pretty normal length arms…I think. Looking forward to seeing these plans come to fruition! 🤩
Oh wow, I am even more excited now with all of your feedback - The I2S jacket is going to be so useful to me in the autumn and spring months which are quite long here in Italy! Great advice on the arms though - I will take some good measurements of the pattern piece and my own arms as mine are also a 'normal' length 😂
That oversized shirt is going to be terrific in the spider fabric! Much better than trousers as you've got the space to ensure the spiders can be seen in all their black and blue beauty! You'll also avoid any possibility of having a spider on your bum! 🤭
I am almost done with the spider shirt and am loving it! Sadly, I have woken to near winter like conditions here in Italy so hoping I will have the chance to wear it this autumn! Thank you for your comment!
Hi, I’m so happy that you’re are back, you never let me down ❤ I think oversized shirt is much better idea for the spider 🕷️ fabric, all of the fabrics and pattern matching are great, can’t wait to see them sewed up 👍
Hi Marissa. It's so nice to see you back! Your sewing plans look great. I also moved to Italy six years ago. I'm in Tuscany so not too far from you. Funny, a couple weeks ago I also went to IKEA (my closest is Pisa) and I bought the same colorful flowery fabric in the 3 meter cut. There was only one piece or else I would have bought two. But I already cut into it and started making outdoor cushions for the terrace. Ugghh, after seeing your dungeree plans now I want to make some overalls! Dang it 😂 I just love that fabric. I might try to go back and see if there is any more of it or just buy the duvet cover in the same print to make a dress or something. It was so funny because as I was literally sewing the cushions out of the fabric I was watching your previous video. I had to pause it and then play it for my husband 😅 He was like, wow, you two should meet up. Lol. Anyhoo, I'm glad you are back and are re-energized. I'm looking forward to seeing more progress.
Hello! Thank you for your message! We should meet up sometime for sure - if you want send me an email - theumbriansewist@gmail.com! I finished the overalls and my husband told me I look like a children's TV presenter so not thinking this is a compliment 😂
I have the simplicity pattern and it is my go to pattern for pants….love love love this pattern…..I use the side slit pockets….cannot say anything bad about this pattern…..actually SoCarole uses this pattern and I bought it after seeing her vlog…❤😊
After sewing mostly pdf when going back to the big 4/5 I always use the finished garment messure usually found random on a pattern piece not the back of the envelope.
Fabulous plans!!!! Heydays for autumn are perfect!!!!! And that lotta fabric is absolutely gorgeous! Now i need to make an autumnal lotta!!
Thank you! The change in seasons is sew fun when you sew your own clothing!

Thank you so much! Ha ha, I feel the same way about rodents....thankfully not many people like to make mouse patterned fabric 😂

Good to see you back 🎉❤😊
Thank you so much!
Great plans I look forward to seeing your makes 😊
Thanks! Really excited to share them as well!
Great plans and it's fantastic to see you back on TH-cam. I am excited to see how some of those Big 5 pants turn out. Happy sewing!
Thank you so much! I have equal parts fear and excitement about the big 5 patterns

Oh this is great - I am excited to make them now! Thank you so much for the comment and feedback!
The only place I like spiders is in fabric 😆
Ha Ha - I just realized this is a great item for Halloween as well!
After sewing mostly pdf when going back to the big 4/5 I always use the finished garment messure usually found random on a pattern piece not the back of the envelope.
It always on the piece numbered 1. They sometimes also do the waist and hip. Always the bust.
Great advice - I also learned that sometimes they have some there as well - should be fun giving them a try again!
Ahhh - I did not know this about the number of the piece - thank you!
