    Why anyone gives your videos a thumbs down just baffles me? This pattern, plus a couple color variations, is working great out here on the Henry's Fork. Despite the snow we can still get on the water!

    Thanks Tim. Nicely done presentation, as always. I've tied this pattern using different colored Holo Tinsels, including gold, brown, and purple. I did particularly well on the purple version on the Madison River in the Summer.

    Another winner, Tim. I like the Mirage Opal tinsel for the abdomen. Interesting that you included as a wing case.

    Tim, I have always wondered, why aren't there a dozen or so books out there with your name on them? Another fantastic tip revealing video. Thank you!

      This is a much better format than books for teaching fly tying.

    I’ve fished these for years year round on bright sunny days. As long as the fish are not picky, they seem irresistible.

    You should do a tying guide on some of Blane Chocklett's game changers.

    After about 6 months watching your video, you have inspired me to start tying after about 15 years of not. Any recommendations on a tying vice?

      I recently upgraded to a regal travel vise and I have no complaints. Renzetti is also a solid choice

    • @drewshafer9379
      @drewshafer9379 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the Renzetti "Traveler" vice or something along that name. It is my first Big Boy vice and love it for the price. As far as I know, its about as inexpensive as one can go and still get a rotary function, bobbin cradle and quality machined parts. So far I've had it for about two years and still going strong!

    • @jacobstarr9010
      @jacobstarr9010 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to get started, I'd go with the renzetti apprentice vice. The traveler 2000 is pretty good to. I'd recommend the apprentice though because it's more inexpensive than other high end vises and holds hooks well. I wouldn't tie saltwater with it but it's great for general trout flies.

      Regal, Renzetti Traveler, Peak True Rotary and Griffin Mongoose are all very reliable rotary vises and are backed by good warranties should you have any problems. You might want to head to a shop and try them in person to see what works for you.
