    Cowboys! Vice grips on the damper shaft! Stock E46s already have too much camber and wear out the inside of tyres. Putting more camber on for track use is understandable but increasing camber just so you can put spacers on is just bad news.

    Bad form man- vice grips on shaft is bad. You need a front wheel alignment after fitting, that’s why your hitting ‘ya caster is out’

    The camber plate quality looks great. There was a time years ago when only one or two companies made these and we had no choice but to pay 2X or 3X the cost for most modifications.

    Thanks for the install video. I’m trying these on my e92 tomorrow. Will update this comment after i slap them on and get aligned. Hoping that the bolts tighten well and that there’s no extra spring bind introduced

    Mounts look good, but looks like you ruined you shock shaft with those vice grips. The hex fitting on the top of the shaft is so you can hold it while you loosen, or use air impact.

    WARNING these plates are installed wrong! they need to be rotated 90 degrees. You are using the caster adjustment for camber and vis versa.

    Well you forgot the torrington bearing. It's super important so the coil doesn't bind. Notice how the old mount spins? The new one also need to spin.

    How are those ECS coilovers holding up so far?

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amazing. Have no complaints thus far. Even with the coilovers being completely maxed out on the rear and the front have little adjustment left, it still rides great.

    how do the ECS coils ride compared to stock?

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly they ride amazing. That's also a con because they're not the stiffest springs and don't have dampening. Since I'm practically maxed out on the coils it hits on bumps since the springs aren't stiff enough. Other than that I have literally no complaints! I live the low life and accept the struggles haha! Best bang for your buck.

      Why didnt you put 19 ..10j on it with a 30 tire..fits a lot better and you dont need the camber plates. Like youre videos bro keep up the good sh#t greets from the netherlands.

    Any knocking sound when turning?

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're used to be. I took it all apart and greased up the metal parts where the Camber Plates connect to and it was gone. Now I'm not sure whether it's the grease or re assembling it that stopped the noise haha

    • @christiandemarino8895
      @christiandemarino8895 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I greased all the parts and I placed a washer in between the camber plate and the top of the coilover. That fixed the knocking sound. Thanks again for uploading your videos and helping us all on our DIY projects.

  • @deplorabledave1048
    @deplorabledave1048 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Camber is out OR in angle.
    CASTER is forward or back. Two separate adjustments. Looks like you have to pre set the caster (full forward is usually good for street). I cant see that you have access to the caster bolts once everything is installed.
    I think I will PASS on these cheap as plates since they have a spherical bearing up top. NO NEED for that in a street car. Too harsh.

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ride quality has surprisingly been really nice even with all the suspension upgrades including a strut bar. Or maybe I'm just used to it haha!

    • @deplorabledave1048
      @deplorabledave1048 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a reason that most of these plates are expensive
      "Turner E46 M3 Street Camber Plates - General Information Race camber plates (with solid spherical bearings) are great for the track, but what if you want to drive your car on the street too? That’s what the TMS E46M3 street style caster/camber plates are: A plate you can use on the street, still have the available adjustment of a race camber plate, and not have to put up with a harsh ride or
      replace the bearings every season."
      Especially the last part.

    • @StaticGarageUSA
      @StaticGarageUSA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good information man! I'll eventually upgrade to Turner's. Thank you!

    • @deplorabledave1048
      @deplorabledave1048 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really need that urethane bushing up top. Ask around. Spherical bearings do NOT belong in the street. They can cause failures of adjacent components.

    • @deplorabledave1048
      @deplorabledave1048 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ground Control and Vorschlag (and others) are just as good. Buy what you can find a deal on.
      Do you have ANY idea where your CASTER is set? Not even mentioned. This is a critical value for stability. I run my M3 FULL caster on the street. Zero toe in the rear and just a tad toe-in in the front. -1.5 camber in the street.
      Your drop should NEVER be cosmetic. Proper drop on an E46 will have more tire show up front than in the rear.
      Measure from center of wheel to fender lip.... for an M3 is 13 inches rear and 13.5 inches front. This keeps the weight bias as close to 50/50 as possible. Dropping the front so it LOOKS the same as the rear will have very negative results compared to the proper way.
      I have owned my M3 since 2008 and have $35K in mods. Mods that work perfectly!
      Great ON or off the track!
      th-cam.com/video/z8_HuYoVE-0/w-d-xo.html
      Not me. But is shows you how to set your springs by hitting speed bumps while adjusting. Realize you may need to re -adjust in a month or tow due to sag.
