Yep, it’s all about individual perspective. An Aston Martin is an expensive luxury car to working class people, but very affordable to a multi millionaire.😉
Wow! Those blue LEDs are insane and the roar sounds mighty. Sorry to hear that the joints are stiff and that some of the articulation was cut. Definitely seems like an X-Plus where you display it somewhere nice and just look at it (and once in a while turn on the features). Thanks for the video, Harold! 😊
Hi, great review! Just a couple things. As someone else also commented below, my figure did come with batteries in a separate pack within the styrofoam packing. I did need to install them. Also, I see comments saying the $450 price is excessive. I was happy with it at the price and believe it is all relative. I paid $400 for a similar size (actually slightly smaller) ‘62 Godzilla figure and that was second hand. He was only released in Japan I believe. I don’t know what company made my ‘62 but it was not Bandai or X-plus or any of the well known modern companies. I mention him because figures of this size and detail just are not cheap. My ‘62 (the foot says made in China in 2007) is about the same level of detail - which means it looks amazing - and limited articulation as my Mezco Ultimate Godzilla. And the 62 has no lights or sound. And my point is - the $400 I paid was about the cheapest I had found him on the eBay aftermarket. The Mezco figure is expensive but worth it in my opinion.
Awesome review. I purchased one myself. I was looking forward in owning a big scale Godzilla. I do have the Mezco king Kong as well. These figures in my opinion are conversation display pieces. I wished the figures had articulation so one could display in different movement positions. A steep price, but overall I am happy I added another big Godzilla to my collection.
Really cool for $50 but not for $450. $500 after tax means it should have a breath taking paint job, or better articulation or something other than a one color hollow statue
@@Shin-lj1vphahaha no for sure I was being dramatic. I buy Monsterarts figures often so I'm fine with $200-$300 figures, I was just making a point that I think $450 was outrageously out of the appropriate range for this particular figure
Very happy with this thing, but mezco screwed up with the rubber tail. Knowing it will rot away long before the vinyl does is a bother. If they released a separate vinyl tail I would buy it.
If the figure was more posable then I would understand the 450 dollar price tag. The figure should be around half the price of it is. It still looks amazing though
He does look good but if I’m honest he just doesn’t look like he’s worth $450 to me. Maybe if he had more articulation and less risk of breakage from a company who’s giant figurines already have a bad history. Also I wish it wasn’t the 89 design. I’d prefer if it was the 93-94 and also had a light for the the super spiral ray.
Can you ask dope pope what the articulation is actually supposed to do? I emailed mezco and they gave me a generic answer. I’d like to know the type of articulation and the range Tail seems to go sideways better …they said ARMATURE but Mezco customer service FAILED TO SAY HOW THE LIMBS MOVE. I don’t want to destroy mine either Mezco merely said there’s 10 points of articulation. Bam Mezco’s customer service kinda sucks
For a big size figure, the articulation is adequate. Don’t expect 1/12 figure articulation unfortunately. Arms can move up and down. No T-pose though. Legs can barely move to where having articulation on the legs is pointless. Head can turn side to side at least but not up and down. The tail can barely move. You can’t even curve it. Articulation on this is practically pointless. Better off having an X-plus gigantic for the same money
Yeah $450 is way too much for this.
To some people it's not, I've seen people buy the old 70's Mattel Godzilla and spending over 100's to 1,000's for one

The 1998 ultimate Godzilla or the mezco ultimate Godzilla?
Appreciate the positive messages in the intro ❤

Imagine if Hot Toys made a Godzilla figure
Keep an eye on Threezero. Their stuff is awesome.
Don’t tempt my dreams man.
Nice video…
I think tho, That x plus gigantic was not done by yuji Sakai. He did the Tokyo marui which is quite different from the xplus 89 gigantic
I had the video playing at my dinner table and when you touched the head and it roared my cat flipped out😂😂🤭 teach him to try and take my food

I’ll have to check my package again for the batteries. I’ll get back to you. Thank you
Looks pretty cool until you see the price, just don't see how you can justify $450USD with that articulation or those soft sculpt details.

The XPlus model you showed was absolutely gorgeous though
$50? 😂 You're going too far dude

Killer photos btw
I considered this, but that spiral studios 84 Godzilla looks so much nicer

HAPPY NEW YEAR Harold!!! Any plans on coming to the States for G-fest this year???
Hey bud. I have set plans already for Japan in November, so I won’t be making the trip to G-Fest this year. Happy New Year
@@FigureManiaShow oh cool😎, I still have that on my to do list😬 one day.
Mezco needs to drop like 20% dammit
if you add 100% silcon oil to the joints it will help iam sure
5:07 That’s odd, because my copy definitely did include batteries.
Maybe it’s shipping restrictions for Taiwan. I triple checked and no batteries. No Biggy

where do you get the scale buildings for the photos
It comes with Godzilla (probably)

This godzilla is gigantic
Yeah, 450 is not only a lot, but it's not worth it for fear of anything breaking, little poseability, and little articulation.
Wow they break? No thanks. Sound like super crunchy ratchet joints but 🤷🏻♂️ I guess how posable can you make Godzilla really
Is there a video that shows the process you used fixing Kong's arms?
No. Did yours break, too?
@@FigureManiaShow Yup. I think I'm going to have to pass on this Godzilla
I can make a video for you. A simple and cheap solution. It’s not the same as an unbroken one, but it’s enough for displaying. Let me know
@@FigureManiaShow Thanks man, I'd appreciate it.

Yikes on the tail…… $450 and the tail hardly moves…. That’s very disappointing
