16:50 No, this is a separate neck piece apparently. In Hiya’s website, you can tell that the neck section has no gaps and looks completely solid while the head seems to be connected to that neck piece. So no his head cannot look completely up but it can still do the swimming pose.
Ah, thanks! Didn’t notice that while I was skimming the pictures and such. Bit of a bummer, but maybe the implementation of it will make for a better work around.

@@growlie2676the old Hiya GvK Godzilla can do the swim pose but it looks awkward because of the large gaps. The 2.0 version can do the swim pose without many gaps so basically its fixed now.
A very great Godzilla figure just got better. That change in the neck really does make a huge difference. Crazy that he's now even more screen accurate. Also amazing cameo at 15:02
I just hope, in time, as the line continues, they can perfect the neck to further make the movement more fluid without sacrificing even a little movement. Other than that… yeah, he’s a looker! A real handsome gent!

@@growlie2676not just smaller spines. Leaner body proportions, tail also leaner / whip like, feet more like elephant feet, face a little different. Plenty of new sculpt details.

I think 2014 is still my favorite of the legendary designs tbh
this is a perfect Godzilla that will greatly change action figure history. A good price, and a very good figure. I love that this shows Hiya improves their Godzilla figure after the GVK version, and hell, I'd bet G14 would look just as good as his 2 variants, though maybe a little on the shorter side cause well...size...unless they make him as tall as them too.
I hope for kong 2017 and the mutos also why is mecha Godzilla not made yet 😂😂😂

@@ShinRobjira I like seeing it more in person, people were comparing the figure with a dark promo shot and really, you couldn't even see the difference in the neck. I'll do the same when mine comes in.
Also, I have to point out that, while yes the heat ray version can look up like that in the picture, it has the same problem as the Monsterarts one with the heat beam. It's not straight up, the way it's attached messes with me so much because it's at an angle, especially at the base. I want to see a Godzilla figure shoot it straight up, not angled at the base.
I’ve been loving everything that Hiya has been churning out, even the flaws which with the figures I’ve purchased have been very minor.
I’m hoping since Hiya has practically set up a back catalog of releases heading all the way up to the Skullcrawler and King Ghidorah that they’ll show off more from the Toho side of the license now. Really hoping to see that soon. Even if they start with Heisei I’ll be a happy campy, just want me some other Kaiju figures from Showa or Millennium era.

Good thing I held off on the previous figure, as of now this is probably the most movie accurate figure of Monsterverse Godzilla.
He’s pretty on top of things, visually. 100%. Makes me wonder what their 2014 and onward are going to look like… MUTOs too.

For the jaw, it looks like it’s made of a softer rubber, to get it to close completely try cooling it down which will harden the plastic

I never got the GVK version when it came out and when this version came out for pre-order hoping it's as good as the GVK version, and I really think this looks even better, I like the KOTM vibe more and I like that it's just as huge as the GVK version.
*(little thing with me is that one of the most important things to me when it comes to kaiju figures is size accuracy, and on bbts the figure size information is frickin all over the place, but glad that it's the same size)*
Can't wait till this figure arrives, Genuinely don't think I'll ever need another Legendary figure after this one. (If they make a 2014 I'll absolutely get that one too).
update, I have it now, its so frickin good.
PSA Guys: I decided to find out why my copy is stiff on some joints on the tail, and I found that some of the dumbbell joints were superglued to the sockets, which shocked me to be honest. I had to gently, but firmly free those dumbbell joints, so that they can move on their sockets. Now the tail is able to do more natural curves. So, for those of you who have a copy of this figure and have stiff tail joints, check if the dumbbell joints have been superglued to the sockets

I just got him this October for my birth day! It’s an amazing figure, but have the same issue that you had with the gills sticking together and looking all mismatched. How did you fix this issue.Also, one issue I found, the tail can get stuck if you rotate the whole tail from side to side, so be careful when moving the tail.
I just ordered 2 of these figures at bbts and I'll be getting them this fall, probably like September or October. I'm so excited for it

When it comes to the jaw I’d just recommend using hot water
For me hot water works when it came to switching parts for my sh monsterarts and turning a joint for my revoltech but anyways yeah for me I recommend using that

Going off of the pattern I’ve seen thus far from INS to BBTS, maybe a couple more weeks? I can’t see it being more than a months wait at this point.
Quick question, should I get this right now for 90 euros or wait and get the pre evolved version for 66 euros in 3 months and then wait for it to be shipped, I really like this one a bit more but with no review

I'd say get the KOTM version now and wait and see how the Pre-Evolved version turns out.
I doubt there will be little to any retooling outside of paint for the Pre-Evolved version, and will likely be more of the same just new paint.

Great review and I can't wait to get it and the gvk update. The atomic blast godzilla actually has a swappable neck for the sky blast scene.
Him and Ghidorah will look perfect together, if only there was a 98 to go along with them and it would be perfection
The only thing about this figure is that I thought it would be release on the 4th quarter of this year, but I guess was mistaken. But all and all he looks good.
Release dates differ from site to site, ordering directly from Hiya or INS usually gets you the best case scenario. Less waiting lol

It's weird, They went for screen accuracy in taking the texture somewhat from neca and the articulation from Sh and put them together in one figure. Cant wait for mine in the mail though.
Hope Hiya toya picks up the Pacific Rim series, since i can see them doing really good on the mechs and monsters

Hiya Toys is doing somethin different, its their own little distinctive style. They make them so good! The size H comparison from SHMA is insane. 6 Inch vs 7? Im buying the 7, as SHMA does have more articulation, Hiya Toys has everything else

Here's how i see it, if you want a display figure, get hiya, but if you want a figure for animation, get the shma, that neck peice alone will be a major problem for higher quality animation's, the hiya toy's godzilla 2019 gets a 6.5/10 for animation for me, it's not too bad, but it can be a lot better.
(Edit. It's a 3/0 for animation. I've got two of this figure, and they were terrible).
I think someone could make it work, for what it is. But I do agree at the end of the day, animation wise. SHMA until further notice, will likely always have that over HIYA. Ain’t a bad thing.

Hope Hiya does the Classic Goji justice as well tho i think they will do a Minus One Goji first but we will have to wait and see.
I wonder what (if they do it at all) the Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire version of Godzilla will be like from Hiya? Hopefully the best of both versions combined into one? Maybe not but still something to think about.
I imagine it’d be another GvK release, unless Godzilla has some kind of new power / visual upgrade or otherwise worth making a figure out of. I’m sure Hiya will drop something regardless. Kong, Lanky Kong, whatever his real name is. I don’t think they’d miss an opportunity 👀
@@ShinRobjira True, although I do hope any issues with both versions are fixed (such as the certain areas of paint you brought up). I honestly might hold off on both Godzilla and Kong and wait to see what the releases for the upcoming film will look like. And of course I can’t forget Orangutan Boi. We’ll just have to wait and see!

I'm waiting for atomic breath 2019 Godzilla for this reason because...
In the movie he's obviously blue however he ended up having cyan aqua color added to the dorsal fins and sometimes his atomic breath, like when he fights Ghidorah in Antarctica he has Aqua glow added lil bit, and uses his atomic breath to push Ghidorah has that glow and pushes threw building a small glow and even when he awakens but i think he looks better having his main blue but Cyan Aqua color added, i hope when they do that they have more fire beam longer or bigger pause lol cjz he looks awesome and Neca had that idea for details but did over the top lol however Hiya has that chance adding small details of it in the skin lol just small but I personally think its good

This is swaying to atleast get the Atomic blue version of this new mold with the breath effect to go with Ghidorah. As for a Vanilla Goji I’m sticking with the original GvK one. I’m trying to prioritize new monsters I don’t already have. Skullcrawler be Lit AF
i mean it's good alright, but i still do like the GvK one! the rubber neck on mine is stuck still - i'm blow drying it still while making this lol but i like having a mouth that can close and a neck that can atleast move on my one :D

Probably 2014 or Mechagodzilla, since Mechagodzilla was part of the initial Exquisite Basic announcement. and we've still yet to see him.
Preferably, I'd like to see the MUTOs over both.

The 2021 was like a prototype godzilla 2019...that people paid for...just for them to release the better more accurate monsterverse godzilla. Still irritates me.
Not everyone gets it right the first time out, still not sure how they’ve gone about making these, if they even have the models or otherwise available to them, all that. I don’t much mind how GVK & KOTM differ from one another, figure wise. It could be worse I guess.
@@ShinRobjira I get that. But they're releasing a 2021 again when they just made a 2019 that is the definitive legendary godzilla. I don't think it's necessary unless it was a battle damage version for 2021
