    Thank you for posting this I have a 1466 that I love and was plowing with it about two weeks ago when I parked it for the night and the next day everything was fine but I had no Steering or TA. I talked to the local IH dealer and he said that I should bring it in and he would have the guys tar into it and find out what it was going to take to fix that old thing up. Will I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but I could sure figure out that at a $100 an hour for them to dig around and see what all needs to be replaced with an 52 year old tractor was going to cost more than I could afford. After watching your video for $7 and some hydraulic hose I had I finished up the plow. Thank you for the information

    Thank you so much for the advice from North Dakota! I had a 756 that had sat for 8 months and had no steering or clutch. Tried some remedies that didn't help. Found your youtube video, made up the hose and solved the problem. Took a couple minutes to work but IT WORKED! Thanks again for the info.

    Great tip, really helped me out. Was having this exact problem with my 1066 and your little trick worked and helped me out of a tight spot, thanks. Regards from Down Under.

    We have a 706 dsl, having same problem. My father bought this tractor new in 67-68. Replaced this toy like plastic check valve. Worked for not even a full season(summer). We're down here in Virginia where it doesn't get quite that cold here. Thanks for the tip.

    I live down south and I have a 1066 if the temperature goes below 50° mine does the same thing but if you let it sit and idle for 20 minutes it’ll go back to working with no problem

    I like the idea of the hose to prime the MCV. I have an 806 and the port for the hose to the MCV seems to be in a different location than on your 706. If I sent a picture of where I think it is on the 806, could you confirm? Thanks it would be a huge help to me! Also, I’m not sure how to send a picture on TH-cam, if you know how or are comfortable with an email, just let me know. Thanks again!

    Just subscribed and I'm doing some research. I bought a 1486 that had sat for 21 years. Full of fluid, no light on the dash (light does work, I checked) but I have no steering. I can't even move the wheel back and forth more than a couple inches. But when I do the steering will wobble back and forth just a little bit. If I try this hose and I still have no steering what would be my next plan? There is some surface rust on the steering cylinder but not enough to keep it from moving. Should I loosen the lines and see if I get any air/fluid from them? Thanks for any help!!

      Jack up the front wheels and check for a spindle that is seized with rust. I've seen this happen on a 1066.

    Hello, I'm having the same problem with my 1066. There is not a plug to remove on mine. There is a line already in the same spot that you put the one in the video in that goes up to whatever it is the clutch goes into.

      Ugh. I don’t even want to hear about an 86 lol. I had a 1086 that had absolutely awful steering. Actually good brakes. Jumpy clutch. Hardly any flow to the scv’s. 3 point worked fine. Both pumps replaced. Fixed nothing lol. Wished that tractor would’ve burned

      ......where else would the hyd. leak come from other than the input shaft in order for oil to be coming out that inspection opening? Could supercharging the system caused the oil to pass the TA bushings if worn and push out the seal? any advice is surely appreciated. TIA

    When this is done your adding possibly 2200 psi to a system that is only suppose to have 350 psi max in it. No wonder you have leaks everywhere now.

    • @chrisdieterbilt2515
      @chrisdieterbilt2515  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You aren't using the pressure to energize the system, your using the flow. There is alot more than 350 psi flowing through the MCV system, if that's all you have then you have some major problems
