    We've all taken an oil shower one time or another. No big deal. However, try to get that oil off of you as soon as you can. It's no good for your skin. You're certainly hands on, I'm continually impressed.
    Best regards from Indiana.

    Hi Taylor, the IT repair manuals have a trouble shooting guide that's really good. Pete from just a few acres went thru his 756 and does a great job of explaining how the hydraulic system works and how trouble shoot and adjust it. Oh yeah, that bolt is a plug he he , I made the same mistake. lol I just thought of something to check, the three point hitch has two control levers. Make sure the draft control lever is not in the float position.

    Hi Taylor, you Brent are good mechanics when you can do that type of detailed maintenance on your tractor and understand how those parts work and fit together. You videos are like a good book, you can’t wait to see the chapter. Thanks again for sharing another great video. 😊

    Well you look like you know more than I do about the hydraulic pump than me I have a 966 and didn't know where the pump is at but I learn from you ... We finally got 1 inch of rain last Sunday but 2nd cutting is not growing yet ... You are one of a kind Taylor ... Brent is very lucky to have you .. Be safe out there farming and hope you get the pump soon ... Thanks for the lesson ... Taylor

    Great stuff Taylor !!! Sometimes we have to take the bad with the good. Getting baptized with hydraulic oil is definitely bad !!! So sorry that happened to you !!! Although we learn from our mistakes and remember longer. When dealing with equipment it happens to us all. Pray you get your pump. The shiny aluminum section is the pump. Looks like it is a gear pump. Gears are inside that create the pressure. You might want to turn the engine over a few times and check to make sure the drive gear still on the machine turns . Just a thought. Be careful and God bless you all !!!! Eddy

    Hey Taylor, From experience when you remove anything with a Gasket or O rings you should replace All Gaskets and O rings. It is just good practice and being a good Mechanic. You could very possibly run into a leaking Gasket or O ring after you put it all back together, If there not replaced you will be doing this all over again. Always a Good practice to replace with New. Just a word of advice. Another thing, The Hydraulic oil you got all over you, I would start carrying another set of cloths with you. That oil could burn you or give you severe case of skin irritation. Never leave oil soaked cloths on. You might learn the hard way some day.
    Enjoyed the video, Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Taylor, I like watching all the trials and tribulation you get into on the farm. It you don't have a workshop manual for the equipment, why not just google it. That has saved me so many times when fixing things. I need to get a visual of what I am working with, especially when i have to put it back together. There is nothing worse that having bolts left over. Have fun with your tractor and I dont think your jeans will survive the oil bath. Ha Ha. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.

    The pump you pulled is the hitch pump, the PTO has its own pump and there's a pump for the MCV which supplies the steering, brakes, TA, and lubrication.

    • @tayfarms
      @tayfarms  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome! Thanks for the info 😀

    • @AldenHayFarmer
      @AldenHayFarmer ปีที่แล้ว

      Something you could try while the old pump is still in is remove the 3pt top link cover above the PTO.
      Its above the oil level and with the tractor running you should have oil running down from the top where the valves are.
      It won't tell you if you have a weak pump or a valve problem but you'd know whether you're getting oil to top or not.

    You guys did change the hydraulic filter on the other side recently? They start plugging up with slime and give you all sorts of trouble. A tip for in the future on that IH(And the hydraulic pump for the remotes and 3pt works) and you need to drain the rear, plug a hose into a remote and put the other end into a barrel or bucket, pull that lever and use the tractor to pump it out, when the hose starts pulsing(Sucking air at the pump) shut off the tractor and drain the little bit that is left out the bottom. Makes a lot less mess and keeps most of the oil cleaner if you have to re-use it.

    I was an auto mechanic for many years. I had more oil spilled on me than I care to remember. I feel for you. But it happens. You just keep on going. Good job though on doing that work. When my wife was alive, and we were dating, I told her the only way we would stay together was for her to be able to do simple maintenance on a vehicle. Such as change a flat, change motor oil and other simple tasks. She surprised me and told me to teach her how an engine works and would she help me to rebuild an engine. I said sure and next thing I know we ended up married. I am glad to see you are not afraid to do things that are not ordinary. Good farming and God bless.

    I am not sure if you have this problem figured out yet or not, but I think that there is a good chance the problem may be a relief valve or other internal leakage between the pump and the Selective Control Valve couplers. I think a pump intake/ suction screen blockage is also very possible. I am not familiar with International tractors much at all but with the 3 point still working but at low pressure and that this happened suddenly I would first suspect something down stream of the pump letting the pressure off.
    The black bits in the bottom of the transmission under the hydraulic pump are very likely brake lining/ friction material. It is possible that the pump intake screen could be partly plugged with that.
    I will second the notion to replace O rings and seals when they are apart, I have seen many that look fine but are hardened from age and do not seal right anymore, also service manuals are a great help.

    Taylor you have alot of skill infact you put men to shame how you simply just get on with the work. I employ men in the directional drilling business whereby we drill beneath rivers, railway lines, highways, buildings its bit like tunneling with very expensive equipment. My employees wouldn't know what a days work looks like, maybe I should send them your content!

    Sometimes a Seal or o Ring fails inside the Hydraulic system. Then it leaks oel inside. Perhaps in the 3 point or the hydaulic leavers in the back you plug the hoses in. Maybe check that.

    I know you are very cheap when it comes to taking care of your equipment you can just look at it and see that but that tractor should have a extra 5 gallon of oil in it for when going or down a hill. It's hard on a pump if you don't change oil filters or run it low
