Crystanium Bowser prays on combo-heavy characters that struggle to kill. He can take dozens of hits but all he needs is to land a few hits and a side-b onto a platform and you’re toast

I felt like I hit the guy half a dozen times the whole fight, but they were strong and perfectly timed. Almost felt bad because it was such a low skill win on my part, but that's the matchup. If you can't kill, you can't win.
Jared Jacoby I don’t know if that would have made a difference. Samsora swapped to palu in GF and managed to get a last stick situation, but then got three stocked on the next game. I think it’s mainly having the swap mess up your groove that helped Cosmos in game 3.

This might be just me but I've always felt like inkling struggles against bowser as an inkling main myself the hardest thing to get past for me is that you cannot use your jab to put ink on bowser because of the tough guy mechanic getting rid of the easiest way to access damage and you really need to rely on your bombs and conditioning in order to get ink on him in order to get easier kills, the matchup its really hard for inklings and one you really have to learn to get those critical kills

Bowser is the only character that you can't get ink on it because of the armor shit. I also main inkling and also one of the best in my region plays bowser. I always go roy/joker on him
Heavyweight characters have a major advantage in this game. While they lack agility, it is compensated with power. Since most stages tournaments play on are small, distance might not matter much to slow-moving characters like Ganondorf, King Dedede or Bowser. Then again, I suppose it really matters of who is behind the controller no matter the character selected. EDIT: The other advantage I didn't address is their weight factors on how more difficult they can be launched off. Especially when paired against lightweights.

Their weight makes them easy to combo for longer periods of time, they generally lack good landing options, and they have huge hurtboxes, which can make their ability to deal with camping/zoning and getting up from ledge very difficult. For the slower heavies, power doesn't matter as much if they can't contest too well in neutral. I'm not saying heavies are bad; they definitely do have nice advantages (I think Bowser is the only tourney relevant superheavy because of how strong his attributes are). However, I feel like their pluses generally don't accommodate for the disadvantages that they struggle with. Also, a small stage doesn't stop an opponent from being faster than you/outcamping you if you're slow.
As someone who plays both characters, it's insanely hard to beat bowser as inkling. This is because the multi jab, one of the best moves in the kit, is completely invalidated.

As a Bowser main, this is why Leon is my favorite Bowser player.
I think this is why Leon uses Bowser. Leon's incredible read, punish, and parry game makes high one-hit damage really rewarding.
