@@greedo194 yeah but disadvantage is miserable vs them, I guess my language was too harsh it’s only like -1 at most. Bowser can beat them in neutral and has a really good advantage vs them considering they are aegis.

@@dnegel9546 Bowser is in the top 20% fastest characters in the game *on top of* being the heaviest. He has arguably the best command grab in the game (top 3 minimum) that does over 20% and can kill most of the roster at 120% from anywhere on stage. He has one of, if not the best up-b out of shield that also does over 20% and can kill at 150%. His neutral-b is insanely good against most characters and safely does 35+% all the time, even at top level play. His ledge trapping is some of the absolute best in the game, and his own recovery is above average, if not really good too boot. His 'tough guy' passive ability entirely nullifies rapid jabs and many other character specific moves, and it makes his smash attacks (especially up-smash and down-smash) wayyyy better than they have any right to be. His forward-air is way too fast for how insanely far ranged it is, and his back-air kills most of the roster at 70% despite being faster than roughly half the back-airs in the game. He doesn't have kill throws on the level of Ness or Lucas, but his back and forward throw both kill drastically earlier than at least 80% of the cast. Literally the *only* thing bowser doesn't have going for him is his disadvantage state. That's literally it. But even then, down-air is incredibly useful in many match-ups, and even when it isn't, a player who slips up _at all_ in the juggle sequence will take a guaranteed 20+% and lose advantage. Bowser is _anything but honest._ A novice player who spends 15 hours to gain competency with Bowser will *destroy* even above average players, even if it's just through abusing up-b out of shield, side-b, and stray aerial hits for the kill. Bowser is the epitome of dishonest.
@@343Filmsthat means his optimal playstyle is to power though moves and punish mistakes, at least its not running away, hiding behind a wall, or retreating to the sky like what most of the meta is right now. That’s what makes him honorable
I remember watching Leon's MU chart for bowser and when he said Bowser beats Cloud I was just kinda like "huh?" Bowser's disadvantage is so terrible, especially against a character like Cloud who has great juggling with up air which completely ruins Bowser. One of Bowser's only landing options is down air which Cloud can just up air, as Sparg0 did in this set. Not to mention Cloud's back air is basically unpunishable for most characters on shield, and Bowser is no exception so Sparg0 can just shield pressure him for free without much fear of getting hit with up b oos. Bowser also does not have a single move that is safe against Clouds frame 7 up b oos. Overall I think the MU is even or slightly Cloud favoured.
Most Cloud mains say worse. Leon was being kind in comparison saying it was even/slight win. Cloud wins neutral, but Bowser destroys him offstage. I would also agree it's even/cloud favour due to the fact that can kill bowser pretty easily offstage himself.
@Connie Ford that’s read dependant, if you are constantly getting ur bairs stuffed by bowser then ur just getting outplayed. It’s on the cloud player to not be predictable with bair timing. Notice how Sparg0 hit him with a million bairs this set. Also about the flame breath I mean cool that’s not something to make or break a matchup. If bowser is far enough away that he can’t be punished that also means that cloud isn’t in that much danger to begin with. The bulk of flame breath damage comes from being up close.
I'll tell you why. It's because that's his opinion, you just happened to have a different one from him. Your matchup view is just different from his. Here's the crazy part though, both of his and your opinions/view are completely fine.
Yeah only reason I see it as even is because bowser has the weight advantage and enough mix ups. A good cloud player should be able to space properly and take advantage of bowser disadvantage. The good thing is he can't kill bowser with a throw but it can lead to advantage for cloud. When it comes to matchup charts I don't think these guys play enough people who are good with the character. In most cases 1 really good thing can win a matchup because it's all about stage control and getting early kills in this game
