Finally its pickup day for my New car from Waverly Nissan.
George and i go for a drive to pickk it up and have some fun along the way.
hope you guys like the laugh and fun we had.
LandCruiser 300 Sahara vs TIL Y62 Patrol
Well, the big reveal is here for all you good people who have been so keen to find out.
So I’m not going to just tell you at the very start which one I got. It’s out of 2 cars, the TIL Y62 Patrol and the all-new 2022 Landcruiser 300 series ZX Sahara. I take both for a drive and go through the pros and cons of both cars and what best fits my situation now.

Congratulations. Getting a new car is very exciting. I agree with you with the centre vertical dash. The Y62 looks modern until you hop inside and see the dash. It needs an upgrade using gear from EC Offroad to made it modern. Looking forward to the mods.

He obviously stopped being told what is agood 4wd and went and bought one and saved enough money for all his mods... standard 300 or a fully modified Y62 same price... if you pick the cruiser I'm guessing you were in the general maths class at school

I would’ve bought a late model low k’s second-hand one & saved a shitload of cash💰& put that towards fixing the crap suspension & twin exhaust, spew’n it’s notta manual.
Still prefer my GU Td42ti Coily Ute✅✅✅
I wanted something new.
I wish they made one in a manual dual cab solid axel.
Mrs trying to get me to sell my gu stroker td coily but I have baby seat in it as no airbags. Our 2022 til is good for the family trips but a solid axel swap dual cab Manual would be a great vehicle for farm and off-road. Hard to beat the gu

Congrats mate you are going to absolutely love it. One of the Best cars I've owned. I'll be honest don't care much about the interior I don't mind it. I Bluetooth my music that's all I need I suppose. Bought phone holders from clicon or hold my phone there great.

So far with the fuel it is actually better already. But I’ll wait and see what it’s like once it got all the weight on it.
Yeah I agree. I dont hate my interior as much as I thought I did. It grows on you. I'm the same Bluetooth the music and crank it up thats all I need..

In stock form the car isn’t capable of doing what I want it to do.
So that means modifying it.

Congrats! You have a 90s woodgrain interior in your 2023 vehicle however I have 80s interior in my 2011 76 series cruiser. Cheers

Toyota shoots in thier own foot by downgrading LC 300 with ugly looks and small size.
This gives a new market for Nissan Patrol, although Patrol has their own fan base of its own, but this will increase more.

We didn’t like the wood grain on our til but after a few weeks it doesn’t bother us anymore just enjoy it and drive it.

Really happy for you mate 👍 shes mint. I have the y61 Ti, haven’t upgraded to y62 cos of its suspension, BUT may do in the near future. Eagerly looking forward to watching your build vids. Sweet as 🤘
The suspension is definitely a hurdle to get over. But I think all the traction aids help with the lack of wheel travel.

The only real issue I've seen on Y62 suspension is the weak lower control arms which is why I've seen people changing to the billet ones. th-cam.com/video/OOoZEpsrGJ8/w-d-xo.html
Bit more work involved to lift them also, due to the HBMC. Still a good rig and definitely a better value proposition compared to LC300.
In the process of buying the til like yours, maybe even the same color. Like you, I want to change a few things on the dash and screen. Could you give me the heads up on where to get a good quality change over not a back yard job. I am not a car buff like you so my knowledge in this field is limited. Thanks
If you look up a place called “ EC Offroad “. They have a heap of aftermarket gear for the y62s ( and other cars ). All good quality gear

How do you find the seats, and the drive compared to the 200?
I drove one but it felt more minivan compared to the old school 200 feel.
I’m a fairly big guy so they feel fine to me.
The wife seems to think they are too wide and she feels like she’s sliding around on the seat a bit.
Done 10 hrs in it the weekend and it was fine. Got out feeling fine.
@Australian 4x4 Adventures oh interesting, did you find it feels like a 4wd.. or do u find the suspension hard and car like.
Maybe it just takes a bit to get used, too?

I really wanted to like the 300 but it’s just far too small for the price you pay
@@Australian4x4Adventures that’s the common complaint I hear, I work at a Nissan dealer and we’ve had 2 people after waiting 12+ months come in with their new 300s and order TI-L patrols
@@jacksonwelch9870 Shame Nissan has essentially done the same thing now the Y62 is stopped... the next Patrol will be smaller and a v6 like the 300 no doubt.

You can walk into a dealer and order one today we sold 3 last month 😂
@@jacksonwelch9870 Really? when I went in 6 months ago, both local Nissan Dealers told me Order taking for the Y62 had stopped due to the massive wait times, and there was no plan to start taking orders again.... For that very reason I had to order elsewhere.
