To be honest a Bo3 format like you talked about would fix a lot of problems but lower the chance for upsets and chance for smaller teams to make it through. I mean people only complained about it because FaZe got blown away 0:3. They played two strong teams which is fair imo and lost both so they get a decider match vs a team much below their skill (there is no possible rational execuse for losing as a supposed number 1 team vs Bad News Eagle, and obviously no disrespect to bNE they are a very potent team but should not be able to win a Bo3 vs the „best“ team in the world. NaVi had to face 1,3,5, 17, 14 (according to the updated version of HLTV Ranking after the Challenger Stage) in order to make it to the playoffs which is very fair.
NA CS isn't a thing because the player base is small, and the ones who do play just play casually. Most younger people play Valorant or other BR shooters.
I understand spunj defending his colleagues but this is really on esl to hire more/better people. There have been lots of technichal problems with esl the past few years that werent there before and other companies like blast do better, wich is even worse because esl has almost a monopoly on cs events. I also understand degster that in the heat of the moment playing on the biggest tournament pc crashes and weird refereeing decisions can make you angry. Esl get the biggest tournament of the year yet there is pc crashing and hours of tech pauses, what are we doing here guys this is amateur lan level.
Of course ESL can do better, considering they have the vast majority of the events, they have the experience and resources; however, it's important to say that, in this case, it was degster's fault as he was using a faulty configuration file (customized by him) that crashed the game every time. Once the ESL technicians checked the config file and noticed the problem, no more crashes occurred.
Prof's wording sometimes is absolutely horrible for how long he's been in this field. A team like BNE, Sprout and Spirit qualify for the Legends, the top 16 in the world... Not Greyhound /IHC qualifying from their region sub-par region in the RMR to 1st stage of major... but actually qualifying as a top 16 team at the tournament, and you get off calling them a bad team? Stop it... No one up there besides him continuously uses the most disrespectful words to label professionals... a bad team? In the legends stage of the major? Show some respect. Far from bad teams brother. BNE a bad team, but sent how many good teams home? Prevented Niko from even showing up.
not gunna lie would be pretty wild if Outsiders pulled off an upset win lol won the whole major... obviously navi's too lose but how conflicted I would feel when my greatest CS go memory would be Cloud 9 winning the Boston Major but one of my least favorite being Cloud 9 winning the Rio Major lmaooo
mouz have a shot if they keep up their t side form, they have the potential to beat both outsiders and navi, outsiders/furia/mouz/heroic could all upset navi, kinda hype

Xyp is getting baited tho. Yes his results are good but you have the core you had all these years and if blamef becomes an entry fragger the team will work better cz most teams will be scared of blame going in
Bro Australia has ONE player in the playoffs, and he's on a European team and mechanically the worst player in any team there. When was the last time an AU team or even AU player has won any event, let alone a major or grand slam
2017. And so what? We have a population like 15 times smaller than NA. Csgo isn't popular here either. When you think about it Oceania actually have a lot of similarities with NA other than population so obviously we will be shit lol.
@@liam3104 Oh no I respect the hell out of the Australian scene. Same with South Africa. Middle of nowhere, and basically no money. But SPUNJ was hyping up dexter as an example of what NA should do when this major is basically a cherry picked example with no NA players in the top 8 teams
Last time Australia Team had a chance to win an event was IEM Beijing 2019 where they lost 0-3 to Astralis 2018-2019. The last player to win a big event from Australia was jks at IEM Katowice 2022. However, it still cannot denied that SPUNJ take on this was kind of delusional and biased. Australia scene was good back in 2019 with Renegades being competitive and Grayhound constantly having a spot in Pro League, Major and Big Events. But know with all the seperation, they have fallen to be worst than Asia CS scene
@@thanhtrungle9221 Ah fair. I forgot about Katowice somehow. But yeah, covid really screwed over a lot of scenes that weren't Europe. Like their options were basically work for a rich org and move to Europe or not compete for 2 years. Ofc a bunch of NA players went over to the greener pastures in Valorant. NA cs is in a bad place rn, but so is AU and SA relative to pre-covid. What SPUNJ did back in 2016 has a completely different global context than today
why is it that HLTV, solely hltv, these 3 guys rate clown9 so high when all they do is choke... Im talking about back even when they were gamb0t.. they always choke... after their online era, they never stopped choking... its amazing how much credit they have.. compared to teams like vitality, who consistently perform, at least better than these guys.. even when electronic played his heart out in stockholm major, HLTV rated 3 onliners above him. So much clown9 favoritism, even now its going on..
Because a team of complete rookies becoming a #1 team in the world in under two years is pretty insane even if it is online. And they still remained top 5 team in the world when the LANs came back. Vitality for one haven't done shit either, again not even making major playoffs. At least Cloud9's Dallas trophy was won in front of a crowd unlike Vitality's EPL.
@@bartallen7023 LANs came back in Cologne last year and the Gambit roster remained in top 5 fir nearly a year after that. They were in the semis of PGL Stockholm. Meanwhile Vitality has been out of top 5 most of this year.
Hooch is hilarious but is also really knowledgeable at the same time
hooch should become 4th constant member of this show, he is so entertaining and just a cool guy
I wanted to say the same thing. He is amazing. Please invite him more often.
He has great takes. I feel myself agreeing with him a lot.
should get Hooch on Talking Counter. then you’ll have
Spunj who loves ESL
Moses who loves NA
Hooch who loves CIS
and JNK who hates everyone
"What's your favorite thing"
Hard-cutting fact based interview reporting here.
I'd say it's probably Faze, G2 or Vitality. Perhaps Astralis as a dark horse who knows. Wait a minute...
Love the live episodes. Hooch was a great guest and I really enjoyed his perspective.
Thank you for clarifying the pronunciation of Espoo. The "S poo" was surprisingly funny, never even thought of that :D
