    About this item
Reduce facial pressure: It adopts a suspended design and supports multi-point adjustment, which evenly transfers the original facial pressure of the host to the head. If you want, you can even remove the facial interface to fully enjoy the transparency of MR mode.
Power supply is more convenient: The battery pack adopts a magnetic quick-release design, and the battery can be detached and charged, which does not affect the use of VR host. Two battery packs are hot-swappable for unlimited battery life (the second battery pack needs to be purchased separately).
Reducing the weight of the head battery: We designed a dedicated battery pack B2 for the VR host, which weighs only 140g, which can balance the front and rear weights. Compared with the traditional power bank, the burden on the head is significantly reduced.
Double the battery life: The battery capacity of a single battery pack is 5200mah, adding about 2 hours (APP depends) of VR time.
Hassle-free Warranty: For any pre-sale or after-sales issues, an 18-month hassle-free warranty is guaranteed to feel free to contact us.

Hi Jay. Great video by the way.
I got my M2 to M3 conversion kit a few days ago, I love it, the face pad went from being "abrasive" with the cloth strap to feeling pretty good with the M2-3 strap. LOL
As for the battery thing, I use my Quest 3 mostly for PCVR so I've set my HMD to 90hz (it defaulted to 120hz), I also turned off passthrough and hand tracking and Bluetooth. My BoBoVR batteries are all 2.6 amps and very often, they will charge the Quest 3 while I use it in PCVR (Virtual Desktop) and am happy with the battery life I'm getting. Agreed, once you start doing MR/AR, with all the Quest 3 features turned on, the BoBoVR batteries don't last very long not to mention the Q3's internal battery. For PCVR, I am very happy with the Quest 3, love the edge to edge clarity of the new optics, the increase in FOV is a pleasant bonus. So far, I am impressed with my Q3 with M2-3 strap!!!! :)

BOBO needs to develope an actual plan for their product identification. So many people don’t know that the Plus is an upgrade over the Pro. Calling the new Q3 head strap the M3 is a massive mistake. What are they going to call the Quest 3 Elite strap now?!

Awesome review. I've made similar comments about the loss of FOV over on Reddit but everyone is too busy gushing over this headstrap to notice. This thing was the absolute king of headstrap for the Quest 2, but they really should have redesigned aspects of it for the Quest 3.

  • @FinlessBob
    @FinlessBob 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +44

The M2 conversions I 3d printed are on their way to you. They have a notch so you can move the strap more forward. In fact without the facial interface (Pro style) you can get closer to the lenses until you can see the sides of the LCD displays. Backing off a little you get the most FOV possible which is fantastic for me. I am going to make some Pro style light blockers for the sides and top. Stay tuned :)

I find that that's true most often. I have been comparing both sources. I like that the headphones can be tucked away on the DAS.

Either way, I'm not overly experienced with VR and I usually want to take a break after and hr or so anyway, but that might change once I'm ACTUALLY COMFORTABLE with the Quest 3 on my face. How close without the facial interface, can you put your eyes near the lenses before the sliders (going to the front) on the bobovr (the black ones) collide with the USB plug on the front, or the 3.5mm audio plug.? Because if you are in a dark room, you don't care about the no facial thing. Also, are the black top head black supoorts removable ? Thanks

Still have not been able to get one delivered (and from what I am seeing on discord some people that even ordered it on the 10th have been delayed again and still not received their headsets (M3 Pro)) so it is not looking good. I am going to try the new battery solution you talked about. I ordered the neck battery and the elite battery strap (both really good prices right now with discount codes) and I have already received confirmation that my order has shipped from China unlike the BoboVR product that I have had the conversion kit on order for several weeks and it is supposed to be delivered on this Thursday from Amazon however I do not hold out much hope this will happen. Just a quick mention to those who have problems, especially with the Elite Strap, just turn your quest 3 off and back on. It's solved every weird connection/charging error I've had so far. Just noticed this evening BoboVR has it back in stock so I ordered one (still don’t see it available on Amazon). I’m willing to risk the battery issue since it’s a universal one and I bet either Meta will fix it or Bobo will come out with batteries that will work better at some point. I just couldn’t stand the discomfort compare to my Q2 setup (wasn’t Bobo) and find myself avoiding putting on the headset, so I need a comfortable solution asap.

Recent updates may have really helped. Got the conversion kit yesterday and here are my two cents.
    1. Fits just like does on my Q2. I have the zenni inserts so no noticeable issues with what I could consider lost FOV from what I had with the stock strap.
    2. Good friggin luck getting to top Velcro strap thru the center. This seriously took me 20 minutes of unfiltered frustration. Maybe bobo was smart enough to reverse the Velcro on the out of box M3 but it’s so gd hard to feed strap down thru the hole vs up with an M2 crown.
    3. Finally the battery. I threw a 5v 2.6 on and played Pop 1 which has been my fastest drainer since launch. After 1.5 hours my quest was at 89% and the batter still had 2 lights. I also had the battery running thru a passthru dongle for wireless earbuds. update must have helped bc I can totally live with this and I’m very happy with the converted M2

Just figured out what the beep is for. If you are gaming and the battery runs out, it beeps to tell you it's time to change so you don't run down the headset before switching. It alerted me today and I was greatful for it. By the way. I make sure to keep the headset fully charged and I only lose between 1 to 5 percent headset battery playing through a full M2 2.6 batterey. It seems to deplete faster if you have lower headset battery when you start.

Don't know if thats something the BoboVR company is likely to recall the batteries or send out new ones if they find them to be faulty or have a solution?

I 3d printed an adapter for my M2, honestly its pretty much the same thing, but if BoboVR wants these batteries to work full on the Q3 then they have to do something about increasing its output.

I may have missed the link but which battery bank is the around the neck one? After trying to add so many different battery strap solutions to my Quest 3 shopping cart, I genuinely don't know what to do anymore. BoboVR keeps going in and out of stock, the Binbok VR Quest 3 Swappable Battery strap that I was seriously considering just went out of stock on Amazon, and so at this point nothing feels right or safe to purchase. Part of me wants to pay for the Meta battery strap out of desperation *sigh*

Really interesting about the differences in the battery. I marked my batteries (I have 4) and always assumed they were the same however the early batteries I got are the 3 amp versions and the later batteries I got appear to be 2.6 amp which is rather strange (thought it would be the other way round). I always thought that the B2 batteries were the same and it has not been made clear (yet again) by BoboVR that they made a change to the batteries however never told anyone (it would be different if it had been given a different name just like the headsets with M2 Pro and M2 Plus for instances) like B2 and B2 version 2 or B2 pro at least some way to let people know of a change taking place and not having to search for this ourselves otherwise it just feels like they are trying to hide something. Just my take.

These kind of reviews are among the best. I'm already shopping for battery packs even before I have my new Quest3. Now, I have the BoboVR for my Quest 2, but it looks like I'm gonna go for another brand, if available in Thailand or Malaysia... I see the BinBok 8000 mAh and Zyber VR are good alternatives. For my Pico4 I just strapped an old batterypack to the back of my head. Works good enough for me. But the Quest3 seems to need a lot more juice to be pleased.... it's gonna be an "expensive" lady!

I bought the XIAOMI 33W Power Bank 10000mAh Pocket Edition Pro here in Singapore (around USD30) and strapped it to the stock head strap (great counter weight) with a 5A USB-C to USB-C cable... Holds the Quest 3 charge (started to play with headset battery at 87%)... it did not charge more, but neither did it discharge at all for 2.5 hours of 360+ Master Synth Riders... Happy to stick with this, until some manufacturer figures out a more elegant solution.

Hey JayBratt, do you have one of those Anker PowerCore power banks with 10000+ mAh capacity and 20W~65W outputs? Maybe you could try one of them and see if it fixes the drain issue on your Quest 3. I'm looking to get one of those just in general, and I just heard from other Quest 3 users that it seems to be better as a power pack for the Quest 3. Some said that the drain is due to the output wattage being lower than spec for the BoboVR packs.

I have two 5v 2.6a batteries that came with the Twin Charger, and they're working fine with the Quest 3. Playing modded SkyrimVR over VD, i get ~ 1h 40min until the B2 is empty, whilst the headset is down ~ 3-4%. I can live with that, though i wish it was lasting longer.

    • @CakePrincessCelestia
      @CakePrincessCelestia 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Same, similar experience when playing Derail Valley over VD. And they only ever lasted around 1:45 - 2h on the Q2 as well. Not an issue since they're charged up in pretty much the same time. And at least for me, since I bought another strap and the conversion kit, I got 4 batteries now... :)

    Hey Jay,
I use the Rebuff Reality VR Power 10k mAh battery pack and I use my Q3 for PCVR 98% of the time and I can keep the battery at whatever % its at the whole time.
If I plug it in at 96%, until that battery dies, it will sit at 96%.
I also have 30k mAh external battery that I keep in my pocket for when that Rebuff dies and that one can hand outputting up to 30W.
I've actually seen my percentage go up while using the Q3 for PCVR with that battery.
You need something with atleast 15W (max the Rebuff can do) to keep a steady charge. This is only an issue with the Q3 since it can sometime pull more than 18w if you are playing Quest games.
I havent tested but im very sure if you use it for PCVR you only need 15W (5V 3A) and you are good to go.
I use AirLink with the slider all the way to the right and 90Hz or VD on Ultra.
You can also turn off the hand tracking if its not something you use often to conserve some battery while gaming.
Hope this helps you and others!!

The new power save option has appeared on my Quest 3, oddly it does not show that I have v59. Anyway, if I turn it on I get some extremely noticeable foveated rendering especially in the TH-cam app. It seems to it blurs way too much of the screen. I'm not happy with that a power solution. I thought they would just bump the render clock down or something. It also doesn't appear to affect the power draw. My power bank still gets extremely hot if the Quest 3 doesn't start out fully charged.

I have an elite with a battery. Iv noticed that when the battery is connected to the quest, when fully shut down, the battery drains in one day.
But when using once fully charged, I'm getting anything from 5-7 hours use out of it.
But if it's not on charge, the battery dies.
So now I leave it plugged in when not in use, but I hate to think how quickly this will kill the battery. My 5-7 hours will probably come 3-4 very soon.

I've been on the fence about the BoboVR... I really like the idea that I can buy a few batteries and swap out for indefinite playtime, but I've always used the elite battery strap and it really worked well for me. Now the Q3 elite battery strap is even better with tethering through the strap and wireless charge through the headset.
Only bit missing - replaceable batteries. That is actually more of a problem with the 3 because even with the extra battery the unit is sucking dry in less time than I'd like (only VERY rarely did my quest 2 run dry before I was ready to stop).
So as much as I like the q3 elite battery strap... once BobVR sorts out their battery capacity issues (I'm guessing a version with bigger batteries) I will likely give it a try.

How much power is it capable of pushing? can this be used to charge while the headset is in use? Has anyone tried this? can we get a pin-out diagram for the power?
edit, also, are they just randomly sending different versions of the batteries? is the M3 pro coming with a higher output battery than the M2 Plus/M2 Pro? are your other batteries from before the Q3 launched? is it possible the one battery you have that is working, is the one that came included with the M3 Pro?
