Absolute genius. You're a star Nadine. Particularly good to see the difference between the made up eye and the naked eye. I can't believe how much more intense the colour of your iris is where you've used the liner. Brilliant. Def going to give this a go on my aging wrinkly asymetric eyes 😘
Amazing technique! I first tried it abt 12 years ago and hated it, thought i would never ever even try it again (wrong color/product etc). After watching your video, i thought, if this woman uses it and loves it, i am giving it a try. So i did, just found similar products in my drawer and followed your instructions step by step. What can i say 4 mnths later..? There is no way back for me🙃, this is my go to routine and i just can’t be happier with how my eye make up looks these days. Thank you🙏.
Nadine, when you do the tight line/water line, do you find during the day it gets goopy in the corner of your eye at all? (closest to the nose not outer eye)
I have hooded eyes with blonde lashes, so tightlining is an everyday thing for me. It really gives definition even without liner on the top lashes. On a natural day I miss out the top liner and just use the tightliner with mascara. Can't do liquid liner but pot gel liner also gives great definition on the toplashes. I had a makeup lesson at a Bobbi Brown counter years ago (over 10 years) and have tightlined ever since. Best wishes
I have always had extremely hooded eyes. I discovered tightlining a bit after high school and OMG, it changes the game! Love this, thank you. Simple steps and makes a huge difference.
Thank you, that tight lining is amazing, the difference it has made to my eyes. I put it on the waterline only and still opens up the eye. You are fabulous Nadine.
This is so helpful. I am 53 and have stayed away from liner for years because of wrinkles on the eyes... but I will now give it a go :-) You are great Nadine. Love your videos and Facebook Nadine Baggott community super helpful too. What to do when isolated.. watch a gazillion TH-cam videos!
Gotta try this. I have hardest time with eyeliner since I’ve gotten older!!! Crapy wrinkled hooded eyes.... it’s sometimes upsetting & frustrating trying to get my makeup to look decent. Ughhhh Thank you! Carmen NC USA
Absolutely brilliant Nadine down to earth straight forward and no bullshit I love your approach. Off to order the Nars brush as been searching for such and only one I’d seen was Wayne goss brush but this seems to fit the bill. More please especially stuff we oldies can apply
Thanks for a great tutorial, nadine. I usually only put mascara on my eyes but your eyes look fab with the tight-lining and powder liner so i might give it a go!
Hi nadine I use Laura mercier , plum powder or Charlotte tilbury her new navy blue pencil to tight line , both look great because I have a fine tremor so I can’t do a full blown on top of the lid liner , but I always get compliments on my eyes more so now than when I fine lined my lid , but I never ever use black or dark brown , I will use a brown Marc Jacob pencil still looks great !pixiwoo do a great tight liner smudge brush it’s fabulous!
What a great video! Have just tried it and it makes a massive difference. Thank you! Would be really interesting in hearing about the eyeshadow dupes, please.
Hi Nadine 😊. Thank you for your all the information you always give us. Marc Jacob does gel eyeliner pencils (the skinny ones) which won’t move nor smudge on the lower lashine. Also Sephora has a small smudge brush (nr 14) that looks very similar to the nars. You look gorgeous with or without make up 😘
I love your channel and you ! This technique is amazing. You always look fabulous. I recently watched an old video of yours about perioral dermatitis Very informative. I now have it on and off for 2 years.... it’s so annoying
I love, love the tight line look. My two issues are my very sensitive eyes and removing every last scrid of the stuff at the end of the day (I do have a microfiber cloth I use).
Great video, eyeliner has always been the most important part of my eye make up too, being a redhead my eyelashes and brows are almost invisible so I need definition. A good dupe for the Nars smudge brush is Blank Cosmetics E43 at £5. Id love to see you review Kiko Maxi Mod mascara, my new favourite with the tiniest brush head. Love your channel! X
How can you keep liner in the water line? I line my water line and fifteen minutes later it is gone. I have tried different pencils and nothing seems to stay. Please help!!
For what it is worth, and I am admittedly perfectionist (!), I really see no asymmetry in your face! Brilliant tip with the bronzer along the lower lash line: many thanks! 😊
I have outbreaks of blepharitus, so feel reluctant to use eye pencils, especially tight lining.....but I liked the tip about using a bronzer on the lower lash line
This was brilliant! My go to eyelook (ie my everyday eyelook and the only one in my repertoire) is very similar to this. MAC pro longwear pencil is such a gem, am gutted that they are discontinuing my favourite colour (a dark grey - as you I prefer to avoid black). Sam Chapman said in a video a very long time ago that the key to long-wearing makeup lies in building it up and adding several thin layers - as you did here!
You're marvelous and it came together beautifully. I learned a lot and love make up and please give yourself more credit for skill and product knowledge. xo
You've made me feel very avant-garde...I've been tightlining for 30 years...really only thinking, oh, that looks good but not really appreciating it's a 'thing'! Feeling quite chuffed!
Wow, you just brought back some memories for me, tight lining my eyes on the school bus using the old Maybeline Velvet black pencil...the one you had to hold a lighter to the tip to get it to work. LOL I have extremely hooded eyes (I call them fat bags), to the point where the hoods hang past the corners and anytime I try and do liner on the lid it transfers up EVERY time, no matter what I do or use. Any suggestions on how to stop it?
Thanks Nadine! No primer? Is the powder to stop it shifting? Some people seem to have no dramas without the powder on top. Be good to have some advice on the pencils that do not transfer to the bottom lid or flake etc I go to the top 10 lists ‘no smudge lists’ but sill cannot find - have tried at least 30......
I don’t do it your way. I look left or right as hard as possible and then go in. I love how you do it. For a cheaper brush I used and Elf brush. Than you. You look great.
Thank you 😊 I can never do liner on the top lid so I'll try this. It's getting more hooded the older I get and it's so wrinkly (I'm 48). Love your videos 😊👏🏻
Hi Nadine, Morphe has similar smudger brush M508. It's £6 and works brilliant! I'd love tightlining but unfortunately it doesn't work for contact lens wearers :(
Does anyone have suggestions for an eye pencil to tightline very sensitive eyes? I don't have a problem putting above the lash line but under lash line really irritates my eyes.
Maybe try more natural brands as they often use different ingredients - I like bare minerals and I have very sensitive skin. Otherwise use a tiny eyeliner brush with your fave mascara instead as it already goes on the underside of the lashes. Hope that helps. I also use Laura Gellor which hasn't caused my any irritation, but everyone is different.
Try Alima Pure, Benecos, Kjaer Weiss (although that does smudge and not last brilliantly!). A budget pencil that's surprisingly good is Burt's Bees. Best staying power for tight lining is Antonym - bit more pricey. Hope that helps :)
Thank you for sharing. I have genetically/age related good eyes. My once 'big brown eyes' have become those 'piss-holes in the snow' you father referred to. So, I no longer use eyeliner on the top lid. Ever. EVER. E.V.E.R! It makes hooded eyes look even smaller. See your straight on views of your vid at the 2:20 mark compared to the 7:29 mark. Like on myself, the liner covers the entire portion of the little lid you have showing, making the eye look even smaller. IMO. Instead, I use a wee bit of liner on the bottom lash line, only on the outer 2/3. This appears to define my eyes without making them appear even smaller than they are.
With my asymmetrical hooded eyes, they make one of my eyes look smaller than the other so when I use eyeliner that just defines the difference in size even more which is a pain. The more eyeliner used, the more obvious the differences are so I usually don't use eye makeup but if I do, it's a light eyeshadow over the whole lid and maybe a brown powder in my waterline which is smudged out straight across a little further than the corner of my eye because cat eye wings just aren't possible. I imagine heavy false lashes would mask the hooded eye situation to some degree but I'm not the biggest fan of spider lashes.
Hi Nadine! Great tips but darling you CAN wear a wing!! Look at Katie Jane Hughes on Instagram... she also like us, has a hooded eye and shows how to do it, makes it so easy... but only if you know how first. Secret tips and tricks are the way forward! I always tightline as I have white eyelashes.. bone straight so they show up big time after applying mascara. Looking forward to your inspirational next content ❤️ Xx
Oh Nadine, that pulling on the outer corner of your eye really irks me. It can actually aggrivate the crapey, loosening skin around your eyes! Instead “hook” you finger and then tighten the skin, by supporting and lifting the hooded, loose skin by resting you finger on your brow bone and lifting lightly upwards (did that make any sense?) You achieve the same effect and angle but without aggrivating the loosness of the fine skin around your eyes.
Your way doesn’t work for me I’m afraid. I have to pull like Nadine does, albeit gently. I know it’s not good but I can’t not do it or the make up looks hideous. x
"P*#sholes in the snow" 😂🤣😂 actually snort laughed, haven't heard that in 4ever!!! Brilliant tutorial & will b trying this 4work tmoro. Thanx again u #totallegend 💖🦸♀️👌
Unfortunately I have tried lots of eye pencils but everyone of them rubs off under my eye. I have tried to just pencil the top lid and in a few hours it is smudged under my eye. I'm not rubbing them it just seems to happen. Does anyone have an idea for eye pencils that wouldn't do this? Thanks in advance.
Absolute genius. You're a star Nadine. Particularly good to see the difference between the made up eye and the naked eye. I can't believe how much more intense the colour of your iris is where you've used the liner. Brilliant. Def going to give this a go on my aging wrinkly asymetric eyes 😘

Love this video, Nadine. You’re so honest and BS-free! I always trust your judgement xxx

Brilliant!! Total perfection and so helpful for my hooded eyes at age 44! Thanks a bunch!!
Thank you for doing this! Brilliant video! Shall give this a try! Am a bit squeamish with the tight line so shall practice 🤗🤗
Brilliant. Will you share the dupes for the BB eyeshadow please? Marc Jacobs does a good gel pencil liner, that’s good for tight line 💕
Loved watching this and how you just get in there with no fuss....thanks!
Thank you! Thank You! As someone with small, hooded, asymmetrical eyes, I fully appreciated and used your tutorial for tight lining. Fabulous results!

Amazing!, 😘 thanks Nadine! Definitely going to try this on my small, hooded eyes! Can’t wait to try! X
Nadine, great secret! It works! So quick, easy and simply fantastic on my brown eyes!👍💕😍
Nadine, that does make a huge difference to your eyes. Very clever. Thank you for sharing.😘❤️
Thanks for a great tutorial, nadine. I usually only put mascara on my eyes but your eyes look fab with the tight-lining and powder liner so i might give it a go!
Thanks Nadine..this is really helpful. I really find I needed this for my makeup routine.
You are just so sweet!! Thank you for all the information, tips & tricks you share!!! 😉
Thank you Nadine! You have solved my problem! ❤️❤️
I'm 54 and been needing a"foolproof"eye routine. Thanks for this tutorial!!
Thanks for sharing, yes it is your signature look. Beautiful xoxox
What a great video! Have just tried it and it makes a massive difference. Thank you! Would be really interesting in hearing about the eyeshadow dupes, please.
Loovve that top. And wonderful video
I have hooded eyes. Currently no Botox so this was great to help me feel better. Till I'm frozen again hehe
I love the Sephora smudge brush that looks similar. At 54, I smudge my eyeliner as well.
Fantastic!
Eco tools dual ended eye brush set has an amazing smudging brush too, I think the set of 2 brushes (4 ends) is perfect!
Brilliant tip. I will definitely do this next time.
Hi Nadine 😊. Thank you for your all the information you always give us. Marc Jacob does gel eyeliner pencils (the skinny ones) which won’t move nor smudge on the lower lashine. heyNeda joon Yes! That’s what was missing, brilliant idea for next time 💗
I love your channel and you ! This technique is amazing. You always look fabulous. I recently watched an old video of yours about perioral dermatitis
Very informative. I now have it on and off for 2 years.... it’s so annoying
Your videos are always useful and interesting.
Where can I get a shadow like the black plum one ? Absolutely adore this look Nadine . Thank you ❤️
I love, love the tight line look. My two issues are my very sensitive eyes and removing every last scrid of the stuff at the end of the day (I do have a microfiber cloth I use).

Thank you Thank you I really need this Hooded eyes almost very little eye lash also. Xoxo from NYC Marlene
You are the best! I always blink on a tightline and it ends up all over my lid... I am so going to try your technique. Thanks Nadine 🤗
You are splendid. Thank you for another great tutorial. Yours are always real ones i really can relate to.
Hi Nadine would you let us know the dupe for Black plum bobby brown. Thanks Hun
Thank you very much, this was soooo enjoyable and so helpful!!
Love this and what a difference from someone who has always failed at top eyeliner and still only does lower lid.
I have tight lined for years and years the best look for eyes !!!!
You’re amazing I love your posts 😊
How can you keep liner in the water line? I line my water line and fifteen minutes later it is gone. I have tried different pencils and nothing seems to stay. Please help!!
You look fabulous. Loved this tutorial!
Lovely. Going to try that myself
Hi Nadine , I find the pencil transfers to lower waterline and closes my eyes , but I will try Mac pencil ! Looking gorgeous as usual Nadine .x
For what it is worth, and I am admittedly perfectionist (!), I really see no asymmetry in your face! Brilliant tip with the bronzer along the lower lash line: many thanks! 😊
Loved it, thank you Nadine!!
I have outbreaks of blepharitus, so feel reluctant to use eye pencils, especially tight lining.....but I liked the tip about using a bronzer on the lower lash line
Nadine, I think I might have a Bobbi Brown Black Plum shadow dupe for you...Pat McGrath Labs Eyedols Eye Shadow in Deep Velvet. It’s worth a try.
Thank you this is very usefull. You look lovely
Nadine, I think you always look lovely! Don’t you think we all hone in on what WE think our imperfections are. You look fabulous
So true, I think she looked pretty darn good in the before shot!

Brilliant...thank you
It's interesting how we find a signature look. I do a winged eyeliner - and I couldn't imagine going out without it.
You will when you get older, gravity will force you....
Have you tried the Nars 'push and wiggle' brush for eyeliner? That has been a favourite of mine for 25 years! Great video Nadine.
Thank you for always sharing your knowledge.
Please do a review of the Eucerin ultra senstive line, I've heard wonders and I really trust you opnion.
Hi Nadine, Morphe has similar smudger brush M508. It's £6 and works brilliant!
I'd love tightlining but unfortunately it doesn't work for contact lens wearers :(

Love it! The #nadinebaggotteye! So need to try, I have been tight lining for a while, will now add a powder.
Lovely video , What shade CC Cream do you use,👍
thank u 4 this, I must try it
Thank you for a great video! One question -what nailpolish colour are you wearing?
Hello great video. Do you have a dupe for the Nars Smudge brush. It’s out of stock every where maybe it’s being discontinued?? Xx
That's brilliant!...Thanks Nadine
😉🤘🖤🕊🇬🇧xx
I'm 61 yrs old and for the first time I think I might be able to right line - thank you 👍☺️
Thank you for being soooo wonderful!!!!!
Your Ts and Ds are so ASMRic that I just watch it to make me sleep, in a good way
Have you found a dupe for the Bobbi Brown black plum yet please? 🙏🏻😘

She has hooded eyes but they aren't crinkly so her method doesn't work for me with aged saggy eyes!
Think the smudge end of the Beauty Pie Eye Crease and Smudge Brush might be v similar to the Nars one
Great 👍

Yikes it makes me cringe to see eyeliner being applied under the eyelashes. How do you clean it off afterwards?
"P*#sholes in the snow" 😂🤣😂 actually snort laughed, haven't heard that in 4ever!!! Brilliant tutorial & will b trying this 4work tmoro. Thanx again u #totallegend 💖🦸♀️👌
Brilliant!!! That's all really! XxxC
Would you say to use brown pencil even on blue eyes?
Love it thanks
Has anyone find a Cruelty Free DUPE for Black Plum? It’s such a beautiful color! ❤️
Eye wrinkles! What wrinkles? Your skin looks amazing.
Wow this was great 😀
