This entire quest was so wholesome not only did we see Gouba acting so cute but we got to visit all the Liyue characters it’s like this quest was about all the friends we made in Liyue and about the history of Liyue too. It sparked my love for Genshin again.
I was waiting so long for Yanfei and Zhongli to make an appearance. Then right near the end i cheered so loud when he finally showed up. It was perfect.

The charm of Liyue and Mondstadt will probably always be there. I enjoyed the storyline there compared to Inazuma. The viscious cycles of exploring each region and doing more chores each update is getting tiring to be honest
Zhongli remembering and calling guoba "old friend" was very heartwarming.

The best part was honestly the reactions with the others Adepti.
It was hard to notice but, Gouba did wave to each and any of them. And while Zhongli and Madame Ping paid attention to him, others (Xiao and Yanfei specifically) completely snobbed him, which in turns left him with a sad, ๐·°(৹˃̵ω˂̵৹)°·๐ expression.
(Yanfei of course doesn't know Gouba, but as Madame Ping put it, Gouba doesn't remember people of his previous life but just acts on a sense of "familiarity" and in Yanfei's case was probably because of her father's blood, which was a Xiezhi Adeptus who fought alongside Rex Lapis.)

I love how Mihoyo tell the story, and there is a lot of hidden messages in this one. You can see all the adeptis and even Madame Ping when she is still young. Look at the young woman wielding polearm and the cleansing bell on her waist. This is beautifully crafted lore. Thank you.

Indeed, Guoba earns my heartfelt respect and should be deemed the most legendary spawnable E skill in the entire game as of right now. As good Oz may be, his story will never reach the deep feelings Guoba's did.

I feel like Guoba, aside from being the Stove God, is a symbol of unconditional love for humanity. He'd already done so much and even go as far as sacrificing one's self for the well-being of Liyue's people. The way Guoba interacts with the other adepti implies that although his memories have long been washed away, his compassion still remains in the passage of time.
I also appreciate how the event highlights the importance of food in our society. Whether it was to appease the palate of an upper-class, to make it more suitable to digest, or to stave off hunger during a long journey out at sea, cooking has always evolved alongside human progress both in practical and cultural aspects.
And I love how you point out the importance of food here! Really, I love Genshin lore and story. But this one might be my favourite because of the depth it carries while maintaining the joy and simplicity.

The noun on stombarear montain said there are no storms on Mondstadt since the anemo archon's rule, but her family still continue to watch the coast to be sure. Gouba's protection may go even futher since it shelter the land from quakes and tsunami as well, He really gave it all.

Zhongli lost a lot of friends. First we meet skybracer who sacrificed himself to save Liyue, then Azdhaha who forgot everything and begged to be sealed to protect Liyue from himself, and now Guoba who sacrificed his power and speech to save Liyue. I couldn’t blame for missing the past now.

as a Chinese, this story had somehow really hit the spot with a weird sense of nostalgia
needless to say, I'm thankful for this festival that was rooted from tradition mixed in with a bit of mythical legend from the game itself (despite there being no Genshin counterpart for mooncake and yes this kinda disappointed me greatly)

as someone who grew up on 灶神's legend, and even made offerings to him as a kid, this story was just a whole blast of nostalgia and feels. I would've been happy with just a mid-autumn festival kind of event, but the fact that 灶神, of all gods, was the star of the festival surprised me in the best way possible.

Ah, this has been such a good event. Well-paced, a lot of cameos (we finally got screen-time for Xinyan!), stuff to do a lot but not too much. And of course more lore and a beautiful cut-scene.
As soon as i saw the 2.2 update, i was just amazed at how subtly they reference Xinyan traveling to Inazuma with Beidou's help to be in that future event story

It's sad to know Guoba sacrifice his Adeptal power because he loves humanity and will do anything to protect them. But at the same time, I'm happy that now Liyue has become everything he wishes for : prosper and peaceful.
Now he deserved the rest and become as carefree as he want. Evwn better, he got a life long companion Xiangling.

I'm back from the 2023 Lantern rite festival where we get a cutscene that proves the woman at 2:50 IS Madame Ping, otherwise known as Streetward Rambler.
I realize this post is 2 years old, but it just showed up in my recommendeds. I started playing Genshin in November 2023. This is my favorite story teaser so far because it’s so beautifully presented. The way Madame Ping tells the story, the art work and the music are just stellar! I also love the fact that guoba is a god and has such rich lore! 😊

To me this WAS the annyversary, it felt like it, with the story, the chests, the exploration of the first areas, learning more about old characters and meeting them all again. So I didn't complain once. Though I was expecting something like 20/30 pull like at launch and in the end we got them, but even if we didn't this arc was worth it in my opinion.

When Guoba was revealed to be the stove god, I paused the game and laughed for a good 10 mins. Nothing in all of the world would've prepared me for that plot twist and revelation.
One of the benefits of not following leaks. Turns out, this cutscene has been leaked 3 weeks ago. Thank god that leak never got recommended to me, otherwise the surprise factor is gone.

It was actually why I finished the quest today because I got a minor leak that Gouba is the stove god and I was like "WHAT" so finished this quest to confirm.
This is what made me stay and fall in love with Genshin. I was close to tears when I was playing this part. 😭❤️💕 I don't care about what others demand. For me, Genshin bringing this story into the game is the highlight and the gift. One of the best surprises Mihoyo has given. Thank you. I love it so much!

Liyue is a literal treasure trove of history. Pretty sure Osial was responsible for all those disasters, it's thanks to Guoba's sacrifice that the land managed to persevere, the adepti and Rex Lapis(Zhong Li) keeping the people safe made what Liyue is today. It's such an awesome story, even if this was the final act for this event's story quest, I have enjoyed how exciting and eventful it has been so far. Well done!

The enemies of Liyue must be so powerful considering how strong Zhong Li, Azhdaha, Guoba, Guizhong and the adepti are. I think Osial is just one of them and not the strongest.

I love that this isn’t only a celebration of Liyue and it’s culture, but also an obvious celebration and tribute of Chinese culture as well.

the game basically only celebrate chinese culture, monstad is europe and freedom with drinking problems, japan is sad and wars and oppression, (fire work was celebrated, but that’s actually chineses lol) all the food surrounds chinese food primarily, and no 5 star food buff from monstad or inazuma.

This is the Best Story cutscene in Genshin impact. The Characters are completely drawn with beautiful backround and we got a real moving animation for the first time when guoba goes to sleep and wakes up

The part with all the characters is absolutely beautiful, it shows us almost all of the liyue characters and some that haven’t been released, the art style is really nice, and the music is fantastic. Also love how there’s some smaller details in the back such as pervases.

I love the second half of this, where Liyue harbor’s song is really upbeat and happy. We get to see all our Liyue characters enjoying themselves and living their lives, and something about it makes me super nostalgic.
