    This is exactly what I was looking for to install an OEM deflector on a 2015 Lexus 300h. And yes, fitted in 30 mins. Thanks bro.

    Thanks Bud, well explained. I just got my deflector for my 2021 highlander yesterday. Looking forward to installing it with ease.

    As someone who does paint protection film, I always recommend attaching the bumps to the actual bug deflector and not the paint. No mess to clean up when you take them off and if someone does decide to do ppf the installer doesn't have to mess around with a re-re of the deflector.

    To remove the clips that hold the hood gasket in place -- get the correct pry bar! Our neighborhood body shop installed the WeatherTech bug deflector on our 2009 Highlander in about 10 minutes. It's all about having the correct clip remover tool!!

    Very helpful video. I've got a Rav4 so it's slightly different, but any tips on how to measure the bumpon locations? Is it important that the bumpons be perfectly located and should the deflector be touching the bumpons when you're done? I've seen videos for third party deflectors that (contrary to Toyota's instruction) stick on the bumpons as the last step, not the first.

    • @TorontoEntz
      @TorontoEntz  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Anthony N Thanks. For the bumpon locations it's doesn't have to be precise as it's just to protect the deflector from hitting the actual hood, pretty much as long as it's somewhere underneath the deflector and when pressure is pressed down on the deflector to touch the bumpon it should be good.

    Question, the three brackets you place on the front of the hood, are they metal or plastic? If metal, hope they don't rust over time. Or are they made out of aluminum? Good video, thanks for sharing. Hard to find an OEM hood protector that covers the entire front of the hood here in the U.S. I was told AVS and weather tech are short and do not cover the entire front of the hood.

    • @TorontoEntz
      @TorontoEntz  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dam Zam unfortunately yes they are made of metal so overtime will rust. But, I've had the same type of hood deflector installed on my 2004 sienna and since then it's still holding up pretty nicely. No rusting or any signs of wearing overtime.

  • @damzam8721

    Just installed my hood protector. Curious, did you find the front brackets a little tight to install over the hood lip? Especially the two end brackets. I had to slightly widen them to fit them over the protective film tape. The middle one was perfect.
    The only thing I did extra was repainted the 6 metal L clips with POR 15 top coat paint. Seems there wasn't enough protective paint.
    Overall an easy install, your video was great to watch again to be sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks!

    I realize you have hood struts.. Is that factory OEM from Toyota ? I purchased a 2017 highlander limited platinum over the weekend and it doesn't have it... Also, what's the OEM part #s for the hood deflector you install ?

    • @TorontoEntz
      @TorontoEntz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quynh Tang mine does not have hood struts it's just a regular prop rod as all highlander's. And as for the part number I do not have that you would have to go to your local Toyota and ask thanks

    Hello, what brand and where did you buy the bug shield? For some stupid reason, WeatherTech does not sell this for my 2018 Highlander. So I am not wanting to buy some cheesy brand. Any ideas?

    • @TorontoEntz
      @TorontoEntz  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rob M I been getting alot of questions asking where I got mine, but unfortunately this exact deflector is only available at the Toyota dealership in Canada. I bought mine from "Maple Toyota" in Vaughan Ontario. As of now I'm not sure of any aftermarket brands and can't speak on the quality of them. Your best bet is to Google and check reviews on what's best.

    Alright, you said this came from Toyota. I have a 2018. One dealer said Toyota doesnt make one, and there isnt an aftermarket one. ANother dealer said they are a weathertech dealer and they could order me one. I cant find any online for 2018 - was this a weathertech product!?

    • @TorontoEntz
      @TorontoEntz  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope this was not a weather tech product. I purchased mine from the parts counter at my local Toyota dealer in Maple Ontario Canada, I came in a brown box with Toyota seal all around it. This is factory OEM.
