This happened to me, I forgot to turn off my mic and my grandma called up. "Would you like some tea darling?" I replied yes please...Then my teacher laughed and asked if he could have some too. Then the entire class started asking for some in the chat. I joined in this joke and asked my grandma if she could make them some too. She replied "Sure, I'll make sure to deliver it to them." This wasn't embarrassing but always made me smile when I remembered it.

omg a girl in my calc class accidentally had her mic on and she was crying and the whole class heard. the prof cut the class short due to that but later found out she was crying because the class was too hard for her and she was so lost in what we were learning. that was a interesting experience but we've all been there

This happened to me-
A girl was once voted class president/ leader, before she was voted class president/leader she was very active and she would answer every question, but after she was voted class president/leader she was very quiet and always stopped her video, She would not answer questions like she used to... And one day she forgot to turn her mic off when she just logged in to the class and the whole class heard her parents screaming at her and we hear banging on the table, then we heard a glass vase shatter, her parents were still screaming at her, we also heard her crying, my teacher disconnected at that time tho, when her parents left, we heard sobbing and insulting herself, then she saw that her mic was on and she just said, "Sorry." Sooner or later I private chatted her and supported her, I complimented her and been nice to her, we had been best friends ever since, and now she tells me that she believes in herself and she thinks that she is beautiful and amazing, now she knows how to fight back, and now she's active and happy like before, and we are still best friends.

When I was in an online zoom class, my teacher had just asked me the question and I answered. I forgot to mute myself, and started humming. So glad I was only humming because EVERYONE was watching me. My teacher said 'Nice singing.' and not in a sarcastic way. I blushed and muted myself. Then I started screaming inside.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME!!! We use teams for online school, and sometimes when you join the call your mic unmutes and you dont know unless you look and turn it back off. So in French class i join the call, humming a song to myself when the teacher says “Someone has some lovely singing, but could you please turn off your mic” I looked as SAW THAT MY MIC WAS ON!!! I checked my phone and had 50 messages from my besties telling me that my mic was on. It was V E R Y embarrassing 😖😭

This happened in my online class. So we were having our maths class and our maths teacher is a old man. He was taking our class on his laptop and had his phone beside him. In the middle of the class, his phone started ringing and we all could hear his ringtone was Shape Of You. He didn't even pick up the call but he just went silent and left the phone ringing for a while and then cut that call. After the call on his phone was cut, someone from my class suddenly said, "whose shape are you in love with sir?" and the whole class lost it.
Edit: Lmao all of my classmates are total brats. One more similar incident happened in my class today. Our teacher was yelling at us and he said something along with the lines,"you all are such disobedient and bad kids" so one girl of my class who's also a Billie Ellish fan went, "Good girls go to hell. But bad girls own that hell!" And after that another guy of my class starting singing, "Yes I'm a bad boy so I like bad girll~~" from War Of Hormones and our whole class went wild. That was when both of them realised their Mics were turned on.

So about 35 people in our grade were in a call with the teachers for a class or whatever, then suddenly my dad comes over and starts shouting at me because he thinks im “wasting time playing video games” instead of doing schoolwork. I thought I had muted my mic but I didn’t, so EVERYONE in the call heard my dad shouting at me for like 5 minutes while I’m explaining to him that I actually have more than 3 brain cells and is already doing my schoolwork. HSN kids and Grace Comeau well I decided to leave the call and I didn’t come back ._. and then my mom found out and shouted at my dad which kinda made me feel better because I like shouting (unless it’s at me). I think I made the smart decision by leaving, but then afterwards, my friends sent me like 100 texts telling me it was hilarious and even the teacher was laughing.

I got story. Me and boyfriend is in the same homeroom class online, and when he tried to private chat me something not family friendly he texted it to the teacher by accident. I was so embarrassed for him, also that same day we were talking on the phone and he un mute his mic to answer a question and I was screaming "fuck!!" And the whole class started laughing and they know it was me. So I'm switching to a new classroom now.

Today in my Theology class me and these other girls were early going to class online, and they were talking about how the teacher always wasn't there and we had subs. And we're saying how they wanted a sub today instead of the teacher. Then they were asking for snapchats for being in a group chat. The teacher came on and they didn't notice, I noticed though and decided to let them keep talking about the teacher. Then the teacher said "you know I can hear you ladies right"? The girls went silent after that and looked embarrassed. In online classes for my school you have to keep your Camera on at all times unless your doing work by yourself so I got to see their embarrassed faces, super funny for me.

We were having a test in my class Zoom Meeting. Since I thought I was muted, I decided to sing a little bit so I could calm down and make myself relaxed. I was in the chorus of the song and the teacher said, "Who's that singing? Audrey?", and I was panicking and the whole class was looking at me and I was just staring at me so I immediately turned off my microphone. Thank goodness it was a good day and my singing was progressing better so I didn't sound like a dying goat.

LMAO my friend was secretly watching a basketball game in one of his zoom lessons, and he started screaming when his favorite team won... not realizing his mic was on. Omg something like this happened to me in real life. So we had a break and stayed in class because outside it was raining, I went to the window and started singing (I thought it was quietly) so when I was done I saw EVERYONE looking at me. Suddenly my teacher speaks up saying I had a beautiful voice. I was taken aback but said thank you anyways. Now somehow my music teacher found out and I always have to sing solo voices (background or singer) I still don't know who told him...

It once happened in my class, too. We have this boy and he's never paying attention...and the teacher asked him something (it was chemistry) and he didn't know. Then he thought he mute himself, but he didn't. He said a lot of...not really nice things about the teacher...you get it. Then he realized and...we were silent for like a minute. Then he went of the call and was out for the rest of the lesson.

I forgot to mute my mic while I was on the singing channel of discord. I didn't say anything important, I just felt terrible when I realized.
Okay so here’s what happened.
Quick note: I don’t usually eat in school.
My mom was ordering food from Popeyes and we were speaking in my native language (TWI) I’m from Ghana. My mom was in a different room so I was yelling the order to her. I didn’t realize my mic was on. I ordered like 10 pieces of chicken with a drink and TONS of fries. My teacher and entire class was shocked. After realizing that I just YELLED a language that’s foreign (to my classmates) I say “At least I won’t be hungry”. The class went CRAZY. My teacher is cool so she just said “Enjoy ur lunch and don’t forget to mute your mic” 🤦🏾♀️ It was so embarrassing

This isn't about forgetting to turn my mic off and it's kinda TMI but last night I was on Zoom with my church youth group and I was eating goldfish crackers. I dropped one in my bra, and I hoped that no one saw it 😂 I turned my camera off while I got it out. I'm just imagining how embarrassing it would have been if I did forget to turn the camera off and my whole youth group saw my picking something out of my bra. I'm so glad that didn't happen. When I private messaged my friend in the chat about that happening, I almost sent it to the whole group instead...I'm so glad I caught myself because that would be embarrassing 😂😂

SO THIS WAS LIKE IN 8TH GRADE. At this time Cha Eunwoo was my pfp but for some reason whenever I don’t show my face and just my profile photo I can’t see Eun woo aND SOOO... in math class we were put into a separate room along with our teacher everyone was unmuted and I WAS UNMUTED AND I FORGOT SO THIS IS THE WORST PART... my math teacher showed us his laptop and before he got switch to another site I saw my profile WHICH WAS EUNWOO AND I DEADASS SQUEALED I WAS LIKE “OMG MY BABY....” THEN there was an awkward moment and I just pretended I got hurt... so yeah in the end I did get hurt 🙂🙂 (they didn’t laugh TAKE GOD AND ALSO I SPDIDNT SHOW MY FACE AND THEY COULD ONLY SEE EUNWOO SO HAH THEY DONT KNOWMITS MEEE)

My sister actually has a few funny call stories. One of my favourites is when a friend of hers thought his mic wasn't working (but it definitely was) and the whole class was hearing him yelling things like "WHY ISN'T THIS DAMN MIC WORKING?!" Or "WHY WON'T IT WORK" etc. The teacher tried to tell him it was working but he didn't hear and continued yelling those things until the whole class told him together 😂😂
Yesterday someone in my band class (192 people) said something like "Ding ding," after looking at her phone. She realized she forgot to turn off her mic and started laughing.

our class was really boring so everyone was basically doing their own thing while the teacher was discussing, and I accidentally unmuted my mic while I was watching a BTS live performance, my friend then texted me, saying my mic was on and the teacher was asking who was playing that music. A few days earlier, we were on our break (our system is like, we don't turn on the cameras but we don't change calls for lectures, we just stay in the same zoom call for our class and each teacher comes by and teaches, and after four lectures, we have a break of twenty minutes in which we can either stay in the call or leave and then reconnect after the break is over), when one of my classmates who has at least 3 younger siblings started teaching her siblings English, and we kept saying to her "Hey, mute your mic" but she couldn't hear us. Eventually, she turned back to her computer and saw the mic was on and then quickly stuttered "I'm sorry" and muted herself.
