- Join me as I try to explain the process of removing the automatic transmission from a Honda Civic 97. The process should be about the same for 1996-2000 transmissions.

Also another note as I am new to Honda, but not new to taking things apart I know nothing about. Lol Unless you know which connections go where, from my own experience you might wanna label them with some tape on the connector and hookup (1-1, 2-2, etc.) just to help with reassembly. This comment aimed at those like me watching this video. Great video dude! I prefer step by step like this one. Moving on to the next. Again, great video.
+Zack Thomas Glad the video helped you out.
You are right - so many of these DIY mechanic videos leave out so many steps - usually the ones I am most interested it. Thanks for taking the time to include everything - this helps a lot.
+Brandt Tullis I'm glad it helped you out.
Very informative video. I think your steps and details were excellent. Do NOT pay attention to what haters want to say about his video. Keep up the good work.......
I've removed and replaced a Civic transmission like this one and one from a 1994 Accord but I always go back and watch videos before I do another one. About to have to do it to a 1998 Civic and this series is a great refresher. Also the giggles at 9:00 add to the content :)
Very detailed thank you so much for the socket sizes. That alone saves so much time. I know EXACTLY what wrenches to bring not 1000# worth of tools.
Ryan Armstrong Thank you!
Day 2 of taking out my transmission. I've removed all the coolant and removed the lines from the trans. Unplugged most of the harness but the 2 bottom plugs close to the radiator are such a pain. I'm moving on to the bracket to get to the flywheel BUT my exhaust is so rusty it doesn't come off the exhaust manifold. I'm going to have to either remove the whole downpipe or the cat. I'm going to use penetrating fluid and pray none of the bolts snap.
the hardest part on this job is finding a 10mm!
Niceee 😂
Saved my life man!!! Tks a lot
Thank you very much for the videos!
Learned a few things. Thanks
Nice video good job very detailed information that we need to do it Thank you so much.
Good safety tips bruh...rarely seen from TH-cam shade tree mechanics..Good informative video.
Thanks, I'm wanting to make something that I can't find myself on TH-cam.
Mannnnn I love you!!!! Thank you.
Glad I could help you out!
Thank you so much!!!
Do you need to remove the torque converter screws if your just swapping out a transmission for another one ? Reason for asking some tutorials say to remove them some dont
Did you?
those 2 lines that are connected on the transmission, are those lines only for automatics?
No. Only automatic transmission have it
Justice267 thanks for the confirmation.
what measure are the bolts from the flywheel to the converter min 13:30?
When you turn the engine over to take off the flywheel bolts is the car in park or in neutral?
It was in neutral when I did it,
I think some coolant got on your hair
