Dear Mr. Farhadi, I'm truly touched by your inner truth, humble wisdom & creative soul capable of communicating so naturally with everyone around the globe! You are a fantastic human being, true son of Iran Zamin. A beautiful artist & a master film maker who truly deserves all his awards and praises beyond.Bravo indeed!Ba Sepaas Faraavaan, Sincerely, one of your many millions of fans in this world ! Love, Light & Peace in Iran & Mother Earth and for all.PS. Lady Translator deserves an award too!
instead of asking questions about the film, the interviewer is JUST interested in the politics and the censorship in Iran. Typical! They are treating him like he made the film on another planet and they cannot believe how he managed to screen it. Come on! The focus should be the film, and it is indeed a beautiful film and deserves to be talked about, and not the politics of censorship. If you want to talk about censorship why not invite a politician and not a write/director? Give the writer/director some questions about the Movie!!!!
I am so proud of being Iranian too. This is called Natural Pride that originates from the natural dimensions of our identity, and everybody has it and owns it in some different way. Being proud of your Natinality is something that has always existed with humans, and wherever you are born at, has a special meaning and importance to you. Tharefore, everyone can be proud of their birthplace and their place of origin. This is nice and natural.
Great interview! He is not only a gift for Iranian people but the whole world. His film do not just show us great film-making and true meaning of freedom of speech. It also shows us, how love is the essence of human beings, but that they have a hard time unfolding it(being kind) because of the political system they live in. It shows us that we shouldn't blame crime and social problems on a particular class, nation nor other characteristics of a group of human beings. We have to change the system
@Byron10301 the movie was not towards being iranian . it was towards government . pleas understand that people and government are completely different in iran.
From 26:30: I think, the real danger lies not open losing creativity because of freedom. I don't think this will be lost in freedom in its idealistic form. I think the danger emerges, when a population are let to believe they reached the ideal freedom, and therefore think there is no need for creative and system-critical movies. The problem in the West is, that we have a silent way of suppression. Our citizens tend to take a distance, when someone points out fundamental holes in the system.
wish the interviewer had asked less about iranian censorship and more about the artistry of "a separation." classic western approach to a foreign director and it's unfortunate
yes I agree, the translator, while overall did good, at times she could not get the right message across which might have gave the interviewer the wrong impression about Farhadi. but I could not more proud of his work. excellent.
The woman doing the translating isn't enunciating and I cant set my speakers to a volume that i can understand her without the men sounding so loud it shakes the house. Great movie I loved it! And the past.
You have an argument in an ideal world where everyone is solely judged based on their background, qualifications and contributions themselves. However, that's not the case in today's world. Racial and national profiling is happening on a daily basis. If in an international level someone talks to you probably after two or three minutes they are interested to know where you are from and once you have revealed your nationality a sense of stereotypical judgement come into the audience's mind.
@23:10 bad translation. he said "capital" causes "censorship" in the US. she said "financing" causes "difficulties". or maybe she believes that censorship doesn't exist in the US. for me that "capital" has many meanings that can even relate to the governers of the US.
why would you be proud of an accident of birth that you had nothing to do with? do you somehow associate the accomplishments of other iranians with your personal identity? did you do anything to deserve this association other than being born into a culture? I am Iranian, and I find nothing to be proud or ashamed of in it. Consider your accomplishments instead, and ask if they are worthy of praise.
I am proud of a good Iranian movie and a good film director like Farhadi who has won two OSCARS so far. I cannot wait for the third and many more. Farhadi's achievements are ours!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful clip with people around the world! Love & Peace...
great interview! I was immensely touched by your movie Mr Farhadi.
Baroh, a part of the role of the interviewer - in my view - is to express public perception so that the filmmaker can speak to it.
thanks so much for uploading and sharing these! Congrats to asghar farhadi, what a wonderful film! :)
The first question is very stupid. He could just as well have said "Gee, I didn't know iranians were real people with real problems, just as we are.".
I was lucky to watch the movie before I die.
professional translation, and answers. Thank you
I love this film and director.
I look forward to seeing more of his films. He's terriffic.

I think translator screwed the text and sub-text part!!
he didnt even look at her once lol
He's not supposed to
is this the full film?
It is not the film at all. I am an interviewer, not a pirate.
wish the interviewer had asked less about iranian censorship and more about the artistry of "a separation." classic western approach to a foreign director and it's unfortunate
So you think that is the public perception? What is an "iranian film" in your view?
I am so proud of being Iranian

The line between them is blurred not muddied.

I did not intend to offend, just trying to write a paper about the film.
