@@SM-jh9kl what delusion? Syriac is the liturgical tongue of Maronites. Syriac is an Aramaic dialect. It is a fact, I am Syriac, not an Arab.
I never ate, danced or lived as an Arab and don’t want to be called one. Be it yourself!

Excellent episode! I loved it! One of the best so far. I loved it how he gave credit to almost all the parts of Lebanon. Also I really liked his peaceful approach and especially that he said no matter the differences the common points are too strong between us to divide us. Thank you for the great podcast and go on with the great work!

This might be the most sectarian Lebanese comment in this section lol, but I have to come clean. When I read the name Charles Al Hayek and the title I did not expect this episode to be any good. I am happy I gave it a chance. I expected the traditional Christian extremist right wing isolating narrative, which Charl actually destroys very objectively, interestingly, and respectfully. Very good professional work, and his passion for history is exceptional. I hope to see more of Charles and more intellectual people like him. People who really want to solve things with and open mind and passion who want to bring people together, unlike nadim koteich. thank you for this insightful episode.

Charles absolutely Charismatic yet History is a very deep topic and normally history is written by victorious.
To try to suggest Lebanon history prior to 1920 is a big lie or “bullshit” as he suggested is wrong.
Yes History is often disputed but there is Mount Lebanon and it has been documented long before the Othman empire Dude.
The hosts are amazing as usual.
